It sounds like you have EBV virus induced CFS. EBV is notorious for causing peripheral neuropathy and autonomic system disorder which are the symptoms you describe. I had all this tested at a special neurodiagnostic lab and that's what I have. It sounds like you're taking all the right meds. There's also these stocking you can wear. google peripheral neuropathy treatments. Also check out a dr who'll treat your ebv/cfs with anti virals such as valacyclovir or valcyte.
I have read that Valtrex and Valacyclovir can be used for the suppression of herpes , does that hold true for Valcivir also,, isn't Valacyclovir the generic of Valciver ,, if yes what is the usual dosage for the suppression of the virus?
Hi my son has fm/cfs and has had for 4 years he seems to be getting worse or at least the attacks seem to. Some days he seems like my old son he is 31 by the way but the next day he can be in as much pain as ever. I appreciate all of you who suffer with this will have as many and varied painful and irritating symptoms as he, but he has started to twitch in bed at night. His legs have started to jerk and he cannot control it. It has frightened him as this is new.

They told me once I get closer to my due date to take them daily so there is no break out.

When ever I would miss a pill I start feeling the sensation which I felt when I was going to get an outbreak. I would keep taking it for 5 years. I agree with you on the protective effects, including that you are currently taking daily valacyclovir, all combine to reduce your risk for transmission of infection. I should also point out that while we DO know that each of these variables acts independently to reduce risk, how they all work together at the same time is not possible to estimate.
I have been experiencing all-over-body nerve tingling for about 10 months now, after a strangely over the top outbreak of cold sores (HSV1) on my chin, nose & upper lip - the nerve tingling happens: scalp, ears, eyelids, nose, temples, armpits, arms, hands, groin, knees, feet, all over the place. I still have symtons and get shingles about 5 times a year, after many appiontments and prescriptions for aviculor for shingles and complaining about my symptons, and blood tests for everything in the book later, the doctor said last week it sounds like cfs but wanted 2 check my thyroid levels yet AGAIN 1st and rushed me out the door. Remember, you can always get second opinions from another doctor. Some give up and some continue to search for answers for their patients as they solve a medical mystery. Have you ever considered visiting a nutritionist? They may help with a diet plan to correct any deficiencies. Vitamin deficiencies are also associated with fatigue.
ve known my exhausted state of being to be a CFIDS for the past several years. I searched for some definitive cause to prove otherwise, but I'm free from any major ailment. Lucky enough . . . but for this syndrome.
I'm convinced that CFS is set off by prior infections with major bugs and MRSA certainly is one of them. Your symptoms sound familiar - I feel like I'm dying from the flu on really bad days. It's like being sick on some level all the time.
