Well the Lab told me, that was an old infection, and for your information, 98 was the top of range the lab could detect. I thought ok, when the lab says old infection, then it should be like that.
I tested positive for EBV after getting the antibody test. From my understanding, EBV is a form of herpes. I have also, since childhood suffered from cold sores and I had a very bad one during this recent bout of mono.
It has been 8 weeks since I came down with mono and I feel great aside from very itchy skin and hives. I have also had a couple blisters form on my hands recently.
I've been dealing with EBV for at least two years now and I hate to admit that I think I have chronic EBV. I'm male, late twenties, active, able to hold a job, try to stay health conscious with food, exercise, am a non smoker. I've experienced many crazy symptoms since getting EBV and after being tested a year later my EBV levels have not decreased at all since the beginning.
They seem to have much more grasp on EBV complications and co-infections. My doc started me on valacyclovir recently so hoping it starts helping reduce the viral load.
EBV is known to have correlation with MS, you should definitely have someone evaluate the internal vibrations you’re feeling as they may be nerve related.
As for diet, look into either a paleo diet or Dr Terry Wahl’s protocol. Even simply cutting out gluten, sugar and dairy to reduce inflammation in your body can help.
Valacyclovir has no meaningful effect on CMV or EBV. I would discontinue to valacyclovir entirely. If a lesion were to develop (I remain confident there will be no lesions), then you should have it tested by PCR or culture.
Glad to hear that your HSV IgG test was negative. While if you had recently acquired herpes, you could still be developing antibodies, this is theoretical. I am confident you did not get HSV-2 from the exposure you described.

They told me once I get closer to my due date to take them daily so there is no break out.

When ever I would miss a pill I start feeling the sensation which I felt when I was going to get an outbreak. I would keep taking it for 5 years. 2 days later, i saw an ulcer and 4 tiny cuts on my lower lips. My doc suspected as HSV 1 or 2 and treated me with Valacyclovir. It was healed within 3-4 days without scar.
30 days later i developed an ulcer in my anorectal area, it was healed within 2 days without treatment.
50 days later, i saw one white spot on my tonsils and red granules on the back of the throat. It is there for 7 months now, it appears like white patches on the back of the throat.
I'm not sure that I understand your response.
1. I think that you meant to say that "experience tells us that when people ?quit? taking the valacyclovir, they sometimes do have an outbreak soon after that." This is my concern, that the valacyclovir takes over and that the body's immune response is less engaged in fighting the infection. Do you see what I mean?

As such I contacted my doctor and was prescribed valacyclovir hcl which I took (2 1 gram tablets twice daily). The cold sore remained small and eventually went away. After this I went 1-2 days without taking any Lysine or valacyclovir and on the second day I noticed the cold sore coming back again and now appears to have come back and crusted over. I did not think the new cold sore was actually one but then it crusted over.
And although recurrent outbreaks can occur while taking valacyclovir, they are rare -- and monthly is unheard of. It is possible your HSV has become resistant to the drug, but that's quite rare as well.
As for valacyclovir side effects, you needn't worry.
I was diagnosed with Herpes 33 years ago and have been using 1000 mg Valacyclovir a day for the past 4 years and have been free of outbreaks until a few weeks ago when I lost my job and became quite stressed.
I was able to take one extra tablet of 500 mg which stopped the outbreak from turning into blisters, but I am concerned if this medication is not working for me anymore.
I also wonder if Valacyclovir is the same as Valtrex or if Valtrex is stronger?

I'm on daily 1 gram valacyclovir for suppressive therapy. I can feel a new outbreak coming. Would it help if a take the valacyclovir twice daily for a couple of days to help with the OB?
I take the Procardia for the Raynauds. In December and two or three times recently I've noticed itching (pruritus) around my chest, arms, etc... But no marks of any kind. Also, for the past four months I've been getting shaking chills daily. It seems that I tend to get these chills more when I'm eating for some reason.
What are the contraindications of taking penicillin and valacyclovir during the same cycle ? Can they both be taken on the same day ?
I got infected with genital herpes about 5 months ago, from unprotected oral sex from a striper.... I took valacyclovir 1 g twice a day within 24 hours of the initial episode, and kept taking it until I got better, which took a while (a month almost)....

I had a standard HIV test done on the first day of symptoms (about a week after my last sexual exposure) and that test came back negative. Doc now has me on valacyclovir because he thinks i have oral herpes. The valacyclovir has taken much of my fever away. And the nystatin and valacyclovir have together mostly cleared up my tongue sores and blisters. But I feel like without the valacyclovir, i'd be very very sick. Also my lymph node on the right side of my groin is still quite swollen.

Would you double the valacyclovir dosage or at least up it? What about for long-term suppressive therapy? If someone could in particular elucidate how valacyclovir works and WHY it would be important/ unimportant to adjust that dosage based on wanting to suppress both conditions, you would have my eternal thanks.
