How long does it take to get results back and will my doctor call if results are neg?

Just wondering how long to wait for accurate HIV testing. I received unprotected oral sex last year. No sexual activity since then. I had a full panel of std blood and urine tests done at 10 weeks, then again at 13 weeks (including HIV). All negative except cold sores (hsv 1). Can I feel confident in these HIV results?? Is 13 weeks enough time to wait for an accurate test? Also what is the chance of acquiring HIV through unprotected oral sex? I am male and live in Australia.

You can test for gonorrhea, chlamydia and NGU by urine testing at a week post exposure. You can test for syphilis at 6 weeks, HIV at 3 months, and herpes at 4 months (though many will test positive sooner for HIV and herpes) by blood test.

Well my doc did a urine test but used my 2nd cup of urine n the results for chlamydia n gonerrhea came back negative. After a week I still had pain. So I went to ER n doctor sent for a culture test with a swab of my cervix. Im wondering will the results still come back negative. Worried.

There are several types of 24 hour urine tests - it could be for cortisol. calcium, metaphrines, catacholines, creatinine... so unless the doctor told you what it was for - there is no just one test. Only potassium? That seems a bit strange - usually one orders the sodium with it as they work in tandem - but sometimes not - as well renin and aldosterone effect potassium. It should only take a week for your test to get done so you can call the lab and ask for a copy to be sent to you.

I just found I was approved for Sovaldi but the Olysio is contingent upon the Q80K results.
