Avatar n tn Could anyone please tell me what a GC and CT test for urine is testing for? Is this gonorrhea and chlamydia?
Avatar m tn So does it mean that if I had developed antibodies for it, I would not be infected if exposed to it? I have given a urine sample for chlamydia this morning but I am rather surprised how negligent my doctor has been having known what you are telling me. Should I have to take the gonorrhea test as well?
Avatar f tn My cuz had gotten PNBS done for his newborn which is a urine based test for metabolic disorder for 100+ disorders. These diseases are rare but why take a chance. What if you are the rare one who has it???
3167587 tn?1343960576 if you never signed a pain contract, (NY) and your GP is writing your scripts for pain, must you submit to a urine test? i do not use illegal drugs, i know the drs are always under the microscope from DEA. but i wonder what the "rules" are. thank you all for any input i am in horrible pain this evening and typing hurts :( but was really surprised that i was tested today.
Avatar n tn I have never heard of a urine test positive for heroin. Heroin converts into morphine in the body. Can you get a copy of the actual test results?
Avatar m tn I had unprotected oral sex 4 weeks ago. The next day I had a burning when I urinated and my throat stated to get sore. The burning got better after 3 or 4 days but I still have a slight burn after I urinate and my throat is still sore. I got tested 24 days afterwards for Chlamydia/GC [ urine test ] and blood test for Hep A,B,C, HIV, Herpes 1 & 2. All came back negative except Herpes 1 and they say I may have gotten that when I was a child.
Avatar f tn shaken71 Yes, new research confirmed that bacterial vaginosis can give false positives for low-risk women who are tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia by NAAT (the urine test). It is recommended that those who are given the diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis and are then told they also have Chlamydia and Gonorrhea when they are low-risk (ie. have (-) partner and are in a monogamous relationship) should request a culture test.
Avatar f tn t seem to find discharge though. Full tests of urine for CT and GC and blood for everything else and used the Quest lab. All negative. Just last week needed to get tested again for GC and CT because I've been doubting results and they were urine tests as well. Both negative! Doc said I had prostate swelling 3 weeks ago. I did take 1g Zithromax and 100mg Doxy before the first test came back negative. Can I move on?!?
1086168 tn?1285353444 Thanks for the info! I had a digital rectal exam, but my doc didn't seem to notice anything, although he admited he's not the best at them. As far as a urine test, it tested negative for GC, Chlamydia and UTI. It's been two months now, and it seems like the symptoms got a lot better when I read that 75 % of people with HSV 1 or 2 test positice via blood test by 7 weeks. Is it possible that anxiety over herpes could cause chronic pelvic pain syndrome and urethratis symptoms?
Avatar m tn 30am). Day before my GC test came back “normal”wife complained of uti symptoms. Feared the worst so I told her all. She got a full STD urine and blood series yesterday…no results yet. She had trace amounts of blood in her urine. She is understandably terrified that I gave her a serious disease like HIV, syphilis, herpes, etc. and we are both distraught beyond belief. Neither has been given any treatment/medication. I want to be sure she’s healthy and safe.
Avatar n tn I recently started showing symptoms of either a STD or a UTI so I went to the Dr. to get check out. Well the urine test came back positive for Chlamydia. I've been in a relationship for the past 2 years and have been having unprotected sex for a while with her. I have been completely faithful but when I confronted her she admitted to cheating on me but the STD was news to her because she had never experienced any symptoms. She went right away and got tested in the ER.
Avatar f tn I take several medications for pain and one of the medications is soma. In the test it showed I had tramadol in my system. I don't take tramadol. Why did that happen?
Avatar n tn If they do a serum testing, they can differentiate between Lortab and Vicoden because of the amount of hydrocodone and the filler ingredients by the levels in your blood, but in a urine test, they can not, unless they do a gas chromotography. The GC breaks it down by the metabolites left in your body and the amounts of each chemical. If you don't have a valid prescription for either drug, and you are taking both, you will get caught if they use GC testing.
Avatar m tn So you also need Trichomonas, and ureaplasma, Mycoplasma genitalium and parasistes Giardia, get a stool test for ova and parasites. Also, a urine culture to test for bacteria in the urinary tract a stool culture for pathogenic bacteria in the stool or feces. Yes get a complete blood count. Any doctor or laboratory can do most of these things except the ureaplasma and mycoplasma is a PCR test and you would have to find out what lab in your area does this and the doctor can send it there.
Avatar m tn 1) How reliable is a NEGATIVE CHLAMYDIA/GC test done almost 6 days post exposure? The test was done by Quest Lab. Here are the test kit details: This test was performed using the BD ProbeTec(TM) ET Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae Amplified DNA Assays. I "think" I might have urinated about 45 mins. prior to giving the test. 2) What about NGU? My understanding is the the test I had done only pick up the trachomatis bacteria.
Avatar m tn Do you know which test was preformed? Was this a quick urine test done in her office (immunoassay) or was it a GC-MS? (Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry [GC-MS]) The less effective drug screen, immunoassay is often performed first. It's actually more of a screening method and has a higher rate of inaccuracy. The GC-MS is considered absolutely accurate - though there are factors that can change results.
Avatar m tn Hey Doc, I had unprotected oral sex with a guy about two weeks ago. A week after, I started feeling a mild discomfort far in the back of my throat. I started freaking out. Upon inspection, I realized my tonsil was covered in red/brown puss. When I urinate/ejaculate, I feel this tingling sensation. My went to my doc's last week, and they took a blood and urine sample (they didn't have any oral swabs and needed to order if I wanted to get a sample taken).
Avatar f tn I got a lap dance and she unzipped my pants. She had panties on and I had underwear on. 3-4 days later I got a tingling feeling in the tip of my urethra and felt like I had to urinate more. I also saw a slight discoloration at the tip which may have been there the whole time but who knows. I have crazy anxiety. This went on for a couple days so I went to urgent care and they had me provide urine sample.
947931 tn?1251495088 It will show up on a standard opiate test, but if it is a GC/MS test (the most advanced/prescise drug test to date) then it wont show up. The GC/MS test for opiates only picks up your natural opiates and their metabolites, and Oxycodone is a semi-synthetic opiate, so it would not show up on the GC/MS test. But thats besides the point. Im sure it will show up on any standard opiate drug test you can buy from Walgreens/CVS.
Avatar m tn Had HIV test – negative result, Had a urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhea which came back neg,but I used a midstream catch.I have read afterwards that you should be using first-void urine to test for these rather than mid-stream urine and have been unable to find any info about midstream urine testing for C & G in males. My current gf and I will have brief unprotect sex (vaginal or anal) and then put a condom on.Never actually fully penetrate her though (maybe half way tops).
Avatar m tn We both went to the doctor and got tested for chlymidia and GC. However when he did the urine test he said what looked like a string like thing was in the urnie cup. Our tests were both negative. A week later he said it was still itchy, and that it didn't feel quite right (he had good days and bad where it felt better and then not). There were no lesions, blisters, no painful urination and no discharge, but there was a double stream.
