without any glucose. I underwent a fasting blood glucose test which showed a level of 5.3 mmol/l (95.4 mg/dl). today on testing my urine about 30 mins after 250ml of coke and 3 sweet biscuits there was NO glucose in the urine. Can anyone explain why the first test was positive?

Im in the UK and it seems the first step is the urine test according to my NHS walk in centre but you can ask for the blood test straight away if your really worried....but I think that depends on any symptoms. Ive heard different opinions on the urine test though, I have been told that its no good by one or two people but then afew others have said its fine for an intial check. Ive had a urine test and it was ok so Im just curious, as it was clear is that it? am I clear for diabetes? thanks.

I've been prescribed oxycodone 10 mg for months. While I was taking it, I realized I was going to run out before I could get to the doctor for a refill and a drug test. So, I urinated in a clean container, put it in the fridge for around 2 weeks. As for creatinine levels, the normal ranges are 0.5 to 1.0 mg/dL (about 45-90 μmol/l) for women and 0.7 to 1.2 mg/dL (60-110 μmol/l) for men. Your value is on the higher side. It is not related to fasting. This could sometimes occur due to muscle injury. So, repeat your test and if still raised you can consult your urologist. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Hi, My last period was 6th August and I still havent had one. I am normally 25-26 days so therefore that would make me like almost 2 weeks late. I am always regular and my last perdiod was only 4 days and it was really late. I have done 2 home preg test and both neg. I'm confused as i dont know what to expect. I have been fasting, do you think this would delay my period.

I'm not sure where to ask this, but I'm awaiting the results of an overnight Dex test. The doctor did not tell me and I didn't think to ask, but the test was done not fasting. Will this affect the results?

Hi, I am a 16 year old girl, whom is 5'3,and weigh about 96 pounds. I just went to see the doctor, and like always, they said I had a bit of ketones and about 300g of protein in my urine. They didn't test my blood sugar, but I know my fasting glucose level is around the 126 range. Though there was no sugar in my urine, I am still afraid I might be showing signs of diabetes, but no one believes me. I also have a high blood pressure. Any help would be great. Thanks!

forget to go for test after breakfast ...so .went 4 random test 2 hours after lunch.....the result is 104mg/dl... whats ur take???? pre diabetic ?? fyi ....my father is diabetic...

I had to do 3urine test that came back high sugar in my urine then I did my fasting glucose tollarance test at 10wks and came back neg everything was fine :) then the dr just asked if I wash with soap or use wipes or lotion down there (I don't ) but that can affect it too. Don't worry you also possibily didn't wipe correctly doing the clean catch.

Normally with the one hour test you dont have to fast but best to check with your doctor

Hello, truely normal fasting blood sugar is in the low 80s. So your fasting number is truely a little high, and I think your doctor is being cautious and safe in wanting your to monitor. Hihg fasting blood sugar can precede high post eating numbers. I think getting a meter and monitroing your food and response of blood sugar toeating is a good idea. You can then make sure your numbers do stay good and take action early if they happen to rise. I am not a big fan of 'diabetic' diet.

Ive had this twice at my appointments staight after each other my blood work came back fine glucose tt then went for my next midwife appointment and sugur was in urine again so had to have another glucose tt and a diabetes fasting test and yet again nothing im now 33 weeks pregnant and all going well im on antibiotics for some kind of infection but thats normal sometimes you will have sugar in your urine if your bloods come back ok try to cut down on your sugar intakes this helped me :-)

if i fail the one hour test, then i have to go for a three hour fasting test, pretty much the same as the first test i took today but a little longer and no eating beforehand. i have a really cool doctor that explained all this to me as this is my first baby and had no clue why this was necessary.

Fasting blood Sugar and 2:Urinalysis, The fasting blood sugar result at random(6.1) and the Urinalysis result is okay according to doctor. I already stopped eating sugar or anything that has sugar,i increased my protein intake.The Doc also gave me Nitrofuratoin 100mg 2x a day for 5days. The Frequent urine is still there,sometimes 7times or 8times in 24hours.It seem to be affecting my sex life cos the thought of it seem to be interfering and causing premature ejaculation.

If your Dr is only giving him a dipstick to test urine, it could be time for a new doctor. By the time there is sugar in his urine then he will be having high blood sugar levels (this is dangerous). Please come back and let us how you go. I will try to answer further questions.

What in the world is Homocyst(s)ine, Plasma? I had two blood tests done (not for this problem), in a span of two months. On the first test, I scored a 6.5 for Homocyst, but then a month later it was 25.9, which is way out of the reference interval range of (0.0-15.0) So what's going on with that?

What else could cause diluted urine. I am about to loose the job because I can't pass the drug test. i just rushed to the diagnostic centre to do the reports of my son, i had already done urine test when he was about 7 months and it was normal except some pus cells. today i got 2 reports done for him one is random blood glucose and hba1c at 8 am and he just had a bottle of milk (lactogen with complan) at 6 am, so the result was 84mg/dl for random and 5.6 % was for hba1c so i am bit concerned about his hba1c whether if it's borderline or completely normal being a kid of only 13 months.

For the past couple of weeks she has been peeing her pants. We saw the doctor a few days ago and they did a urine test and a blood surgar test. She had not eaten in 5 hrs (lunch then nap and the long drive to the dr). Her sugar was 125 and her ped was concerned and said it needs to watched for two weeks and then return or sooner if I feel the need. We started to log what she drinks during the day, an average of 70 oz and she only weights 28lbs.
