diabetes

Avatar n tn When I was first diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes as an infant, I had broken out with systemic Candidiasis, followed by lactic acidosis (Which makes sense to me now), which led to the diagnosis. Five years ago, I began to become quite pale, and soon broke out with a skin rash on the arms that was consistent with the pigmentation disorders that can be common among diabetics.
Avatar n tn The problem is that the anti-rejections drugs have side effects that some physicians say are worse than complications that Diabetes Mellutis (DM). In my opinion YES there will be a cure for type 1 diabetes!!
Avatar n tn I sought a cardiologist because the heart skipping and stuff was my primary concern, and you have to have a heart, so I wanted to rule out any problems with it first, but now I wonder if it is the problem or the symptom. Diabetes runs in my family, type II. But the symptoms I have aren't typical for it, I don't think. I don't know much about the thyroid problems, but my hair isn't thinning anymore, you know how you lose a ton after the baby's born.
Avatar f tn For about 2 months I have been getting these shooting pains in my left arm and in my back by the left shoulder blade, some jaw and teeth pain. These pains in my arm are mostly on the inside of arm, only last a couple of seconds, it comes and goes all day. I also get a very weird sensation by my left shoulder blade last a couople of minutes then goes away. In the last 6 months my blood pressure has went up a little it runs around 135/85 up until 6 months ago it was always 120/80 if not lower.
Avatar f tn After that, I began to slowly take myself off it and now have barely, if any, nausea in the mornings. If you want more in-depth information, I would suggest googling it. I really hope that this helps someone else. Either way, I hope that you eventually figure out what is wrong and hope that you get better.
Avatar n tn In the past i was going to sleep very late (1 - 3 in a morning) for quiet long time...This might be a problem. Going to sleep so late is not proper for our mind and body....Let me know if you do some of the things i face with... I think that when our mind is slowing down (evening) then our body try to "reproduce / simulate" strees and the intensity of our mind when it is working hard which usually is through whole day and it is expresed as itching.
Avatar m tn 5 years and thought I could take one too. Here I am 1 year and 20k later. You said in your previous post that you couldn't be sick through thanksgiving, thanksgiving is over. There is no good time to quit besides now I'm not trying to be mean. This will get way worse if you don't seize the opportunity .
Avatar n tn I've had this problem sporadically going on about 10 yrs always in the fingers. Two and half weeks ago I had an acupuncture session and about 1 1/2 days later I noticed a large bruise 1 x 2 inches in size on upper left chest about two inches below the collarbone. I blamed it on the acupuncture even though any bruising with acupuncture is usually immediate. This bruise still hasn't totally faded. Yesterday I felt that familiar pop in my right ring finger and sure enough a vessel popped.
Avatar n tn At the top front of my scalp (skull) dents on either side of the center very top (from the mid to the front hairline) about 3 fingertips long and about 1/2 inch wide. About maybe 1/8th in deep. I am a cosmetologist, I do my hair everyday and I would have found these dents if they had existed before yesterday. I am very aware of my face and head, and I believe it happened overnight. After reading all of the posts I am thinking a vitimin deficiency may make sense.

Avatar n tn Left untreated, a magnesium deficiency can lead to more life-threatening conditions such as heart disease, hypertension, stroke, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and others. Magnesium's role in energy production. One of the primary roles of magnesium is to activate the adenosine triphosphate (ATP), the energy storage molecule, to create and store energy. Without energy, there is no life. Magnesium's role in relaxing muscles.
Avatar n tn (Turned out to be less than 30 seconds when I timed it.) She said there IS a type of optical migraine, where one eye is blind (in the dark) -- but those migraines, she insists, last 20 minutes. The other (horrifying) possibility she said was this type of night-blindness (in one-eye) can be a symptom of oncoming Parkinson's. (EEK!) She sent me to an ophthalmology-neurologist ($1,000 for the visit!! And I have no insurance.

Avatar f tn Reglan (metoclopromadine) is a very cheap medication, unfortunately, it is also metabolized in the kidneys, so a too high dose results in toxic levels in the blood. My husband and I discovered that completely bypassing the GI tract by using reglan injections worked much better in the end. Chica didn't get the extra pyramidal side effects (extreme restlessness, shaking and trembling) from the reglan injections that she got from the oral meds.
Avatar m tn I was in treatment once in the #1 facility in the country, once in the #2 facility in the country and once in the #1 facility in the state. Each was privately funded by my insurance carrier and I relapsed all 3 times. The disease of addiction crosses all boundaries or race, religion, class and geography. It will take the real estate mogul living in Trump Tower in NYC down as fast as it will the homeless man living on the streets of East LA.
1358341 tn?1282213443 I also give her as of recently b12 in METHYLCOBALAMIN for, sublingual, I crush it up in her food once a day, 1/4 of the 1mg.. This helps with constipation also and some cats with renal problems . She also gets ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE, I had it compounded into a capsule and I mix it in her food twice a day, 2 hours prior to others meds or two hours after, this was prescribed by the vet to filter out excess phosphorus that is bad for kidney cats..
Avatar m tn Hi cincy, I'll interject here with my thoughts, if you don't mind me doing so. Fungal/yeast organelles feed off carbohydrates, so the kefir should be avoided-to my opinion-despite its high probiotic value, since about half of its calories are from carbs. My recommendation would be to get a very high quality probiotic supplement-live (needs refrigeration) multi-strain with a high count in the 10s of billions and dairy free if possible. Also equally important is to take some quality prebiotics.

Avatar f tn I am up to .5mg x1 a day. Neurology follow up is in 1 month. I imagine we will discuss my normal labs and where we go now. I did find a website called powersurge. It has a forum all about internal shaking and menopause. It was very much like me. Promising...as I can deal with menopause versus Parkinson's.

Avatar m tn Psychiatrists, as you know, are medical doctors who take the usual medical courses that teach how the body works, and then continue into the mind/body connection. Unlike most general medical practitioners, they will have taken specialized, in-depth courses in physiological psychology. Unlike clinical psychologists, they will have studied pharmacology intensively and can prescribe medications that--in my experience--are tremendously helpful in dealing with stress.
Avatar n tn I'm a 24 years old patient with chronic type 1 diabetes and I'm living in Germany. I had been using the Quick Set (without plus)infusion sets for about 9 months combined with the Medtronic Minimed Paradigm 511E insulin pump. But then there occured many problems with a 10 p. box of Quick Set infusions sets, I bought in April 2004. Alltogether, five of the infusion sets' canullas bended under my skin, maybe because of defective adhesives, and the insulin pump failed to deliver insulin to my body.
233488 tn?1310696703 Assuming you have made the decision to have surgery this is a discussion of the many options and choices you have. THERE IS NO “BEST” TYPE OF PHACOEMULSIFICATION CATARACT SURGERY AND NO “BEST” INTRAOCULAR LENS. NO TARGETED POST SURGERY REFRACTIVE ERROR IS FOR EVERYONE. THESE DECISIONS WILL VARY FROM PERSON TO PERSON AND MUST BE INDIVIDUALIZED. We all have different visual needs.
921323 tn?1268679412 Put the money towards the health costs of the uninsured. Or, use it to fund research in diabetes, heart disease, or any of the other countless complications of obesity. But is it too early to admit defeat? If we had done the same for cholesterol medications or diabetes medications, or even smoking patches and pills, we’d be paying for it in countless ways. So is there something unique about developing medications for obesity?
802547 tn?1237850517 Whether for weight loss, or prevention of diabetes or other related medical problems, many women who struggled in their 20’s and 30’s finally find success in their 40’s. For many women at this age, previously insurmountable logistical barriers such as raising preschool age children, or inflexible work schedules, often improve somewhat.

317787 tn?1473362051 I treated over two years ago for HCV and am now cured. About 6 weeks ago I started taking Metformin for Diabetes Type 2. I was a little concerned to take it since my liver is damaged but was told the benefits outweighed the benefits. For the first couple of weeks the side effects were really bad as far as gastrointestinal disorder. I called the doctor and she said that this was normal and to give it time, I would adjust.
