Avatar f tn What does skin atrophy look like? I used a steroid cream Triamcinolone on my face months back. I used it periodically over the course of 3 to 4 months. Now my facial skin looks almost scarred. I can't quite tell if it is permanent scarring or atrophy. Can a steroid cream produce scarring? Is this reversible? How long does it usually take to reverse?
Avatar n tn Avoid any kind of cosmetics. Topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment are also useful. In case the symptoms persist then oral antibiotics may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. 4494421 tn?1355435226 I used Hydroxyzine 50 mg oral every 6 hours, Fluocinonide ointment topical, and Clobetesol solution topical. The Hydroxyzine is what really did the trick. The topicals help, but the Hydroxyzine is what worked the best. My rash and itching were not under control until I got on high dose Hydroxyzine. If you have medical questions/treatment issues like this it would be better to post in the Hepatitis C forum. This is the social side and not as many people visit here.
1833444 tn?1325557062 You may want to try triamcinolone topical. 0.025% ointment for itching Triamcinolone is a topical steroid. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, redness, and swelling. Just something on my list of meds that I'm preparing for when I start my tx. Ask your Dr. about it.
Avatar n tn recently i try clotrimazole powder the inflamation has settle but the infection is still present..which ointment i can use to clear the infection??
1292023 tn?1272203010 Hello, Your dermatologist has prescribed the correct treatment as triamcinolone is a topical steroid. But make sure to apply it only for the prescribed time as it is a topical high potency steroid and hence it may cause side effects if used for a long time. You can wear cotton gloves as they absorb sweating which exaggerates the condition. Since eczema is triggered by stress and other allergens, so your perming of the hair and the exposure to chemicals may be the causative factor in your case.
Avatar m tn as long as you dont scratch it and keep it clean itll go away faster and itll be a less of a chance to not spread it.. ive been using this ointment called Triamcinolone acetonide ointment USP, 0.1% .. it seems to be helping me.. my bumps have been getting smaller.. and they arent itchy at all.. i googled and didnt see anything about not being able to use it.. but its really starting to make it go away... and i use cortizone cream when its really itchy.. you can also use the cream called aldara.
2114131 tn?1399240871 My husband used Eucerin body wash in the shower, took cool showers, used Eucerin moisturizer after the shower, took Hydroxyzine (Atarax), used Triamcinolone (a topical steroid ointment), and we put tea tree oil when he got a few small blisters on his back. You need to check the Incivek website. There are pictures of a "mild rash", a "moderate rash", and a "severe rash".
Avatar m tn t seem to work (Neosporin, Bacitracin, store-brand triple antibiotic cream) at all except for providing relief from itching. I was prescribed a 0.1% Triamcinolone ointment by my doctor, and it worked. As long as I put the ointment on, the infection dies and eventually disappears entirely. However, no matter how long I use the ointment for, the infection always returns a week or two after stopping. I don't want to be putting a medicated cream on my hands for the rest of my life.
Avatar m tn He gaved me NYSTATIN and TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE OINTMENT USP. It worked for a couple of days but then the ointment was gone , and i had no more refill. After only one day, the irritation started again. I went to the doctor again and he gaved me TRIAMCINOLONE ACETONIDE CREAM USP, 0.1%. After 1 week of using this, my hand looked a lot better, but I dont have cream anymore... and after 2 days the irritation has arrived again. I am really scared. What should i do?
Avatar f tn I was originally perscribed an topical ointment which only increased the irritation in my ear. I have also tried over the counter drops for swimmers ear, and they did next to nothing. The only relief I have ever had was with the steroid drops the doctor prescribed when it got infected, and that was wonderful, but whenever I go off the drops the itchiness comes back within a week or two. Does anyone with this condition have any ways of relieving the itchiness on a regular basis?
Avatar m tn Hello, This rash on palms can be due to contact dermatitis, allergies or pompholyx. The other is of contact dermatitis. Do not use triamcinolone without your doctor’s guidance. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.
Avatar m tn t be able to get to the dermatologists for a couple months, and last night I just found Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream 0.1% which I believe my doctor gave to me awhile ago when I complained about dry skin before it was this bad. So my question is would this give me any relief if I used this on my face and is it still usable as it says it expired in the beginning of 2010 but its been unopened and in a cool cabinet?

Also in future, when you are waxing, apply wax in the direction of hair growth and wax should be tolerably hot. Then try to wax the hair out in a single strip as multiple strips may injure the skin more. After waxing apply ice(wrapped in a towel) and some calamine lotion on the skin which helps in soothing.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I thought it was eczema because I have that at times. So I put Triamcinolone topical steroid on it and it felt a little less itchy. But the next day it started to get bigger then at the end of the day my ankles are swelling some. I iced it a couple of times and put more steroids ointment. I am self isolating due to Corona virus and don't want to go in. I have had a similar delayed hypersensitivity in the past and am allergic to a number of topicals. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn topical acyclovir is ineffective for genital herpes recurrences. it should never be prescribed because it basically wastes your money. Your provider needs to update their prescribing information and stop prescribing it to their patients.
Avatar f tn I’ve had what appears to be balanitis for 8 months now. I’m uncircumcised. I’ve tried ketoconaznole, triamcinolone, hydrocortisone, nystatin& triamcinolone. Also used basic lotions etc. basically nothing has worked. The most recent dermatologist I saw said that I have balanitis that turned into dermal hyper sensitivity/ a sensitized skin. He prescribed desonide ointment that didn’t work and also prednisone. Gave me some epiceram cream as well.
Avatar m tn He never could figure out what it was, but prescribed Predisone 10mg steroid pills, and Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment 0.1%. I took OTC Benedril for the itching. It was amazing how fast this cleared up in 3 days I was healed and the top couple layers of skin peeled off and almost back to normal. I tried cortisone cream and it was like I put fertilizer on it, started spreading like crazy. We still don't know what caused it, but I hope it never happens again. This was a horrible experience.
Avatar f tn I had eczema on my face for as long as i can remember, my doc perscribed triamcinolone acetonide ointment I have been using this for about 7 years and its the only thing that has worked, now when i try to lean away from it my face breaks out in all types of red burning inflamed hives what can i do to break my skin away from this ointment?
Avatar n tn t respond to over-the-counter medicine, you may need a prescription-strength topical or oral medication. These include topical antifungals like econazole (Spectazole) or oxiconazole (Oxistat) and oral antifungals like Itraconazole (Sporanox),Fluconazole (Diflucan) or Terbinafine (Lamisil) Triamcolone acetonide is a more potent type of triamcinolone, being about 8 times as effective as prednisone. It should not be used to treat fungal infections without consulting a dermatologist.
5123318 tn?1417395836 Randomly my father got a Staph infection and was prescribed a generic topical antibiotic cream (Muplirocin Ointment 2%) by their primary care physician and he told her she should try it also...and it worked. She has only been using it a week and her skin is more than 50% cleared up. None of her sores are open anymore and are well on their way of being healed. Unfortunately after suffering from 20 years her arms are very scarred.

Avatar n tn Apply warm compresses on the lumps and keep the area clean. Topical antiseptic treatment and topical antibiotics such as mupirocin or neomycin containing ointment is very useful. If still the lumps persist then specific treatment like antibiotics, vit A supplements, corticosteroid injections, isotretinoin, antiandrogens and sometimes excision and drainage ,laser therapy and radiotherapy are found useful. I feel that you should consult a dermatologist and discuss these options with him.
Avatar f tn After soaking it, it us Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment. What a relief it is! Hope this helps.
