Discomfort may be treated with a mouth gargle or rinse containing antiseptic and anaesthetic agents. Topical corticosteroids may also be helpful for occasional use eg. triamcinolone in dental paste applied several times a day when required.

I was diagnosed with balanitis almost 7 weeks ago. I was given a Rx for nystatin and triamcinolone cream to be aplied twice a day for 2 weeks. i did that and the redness and itching went away fairly quickly, but rim of penis was still swollen and purple. Went to a different dr and he gave me some oral antifungals and both Quadriderm NF cream and Icaden cream which was to be mixed together and applied twice a day for one week.
I was given nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide cream for balanitis. It has been several weeks and it is still hanging around. It seems like it begins to go away, but never fully does. After masturbation my penis looks red and irritated. I have gone about two weeks without masturbating because I was afraid that was not helping but it still remained. I am not circumsized. Visual diagnosis 3 years ago as plaque psoriasis in the genital area and prescribed Triamcinolone cream 1%. When I felt itchy, I began using the cream immediately. Using the Lexi-Calc corticosteroid conversion formula, the ratio of the 2 would be close to 5:1. So it would take Decadron® (dexamethasone) 16 mg to be approximately the equivalent of Kenalog® (triamcinolone acetonide) 80 mg.
I'm 19 years old. I've had 3 ringworm outbreaks in less than a year, but I'm still not sure if it's ringworm. It always starts out with 1, 2, or 3 small red bumps. I was initially prescribed hydrocortisone 1% for a few days but it did nothing. Then my PC prescribed me triamcinolone 0.1% for 4 days and it pretty much subsided for 5 days. Then I took some ibuprofen and tylenol for a fall I had at soccer and I woke up one morning, rubbed my erection on my sheets a little too hard and it came back. I tried the triamcinolone 0.1% for another week and it did nothing this time. Then my dermatologist tapered me down to hydrocortisone 2.

I’ve had what appears to be balanitis for 8 months now. I’m uncircumcised. I’ve tried ketoconaznole, triamcinolone, hydrocortisone, nystatin& triamcinolone. Also used basic lotions etc. basically nothing has worked. The most recent dermatologist I saw said that I have balanitis that turned into dermal hyper sensitivity/ a sensitized skin. He prescribed desonide ointment that didn’t work and also prednisone. Gave me some epiceram cream as well.
Know it will help if I eat, but the mouth sores prevent it. I rinse about 10 times a day with Proxyl. Is there a medication for this? When will my body start to acclimate to these invasive drugs....if ever????
I tried ketoconazole, panoxyl, triamcinolone, fluticasone, manuka honey, tea tree oil, cold pressed coconut oil, witch hazel, zeasorb af powder, hydrocortisone but none worked.
But now scrotum itches only when there is sweat/dirt on scrotum.
What is the cause of scrotum itch and what is the cure for scrotum itch?
Don't use Triamcinolone anymore if you can help it as overuse can cause real problems. We read about it here all the time because it can thin the skin.
I would try Psoriaflora cream or clear 100% aloe vera.
What does skin atrophy look like? I used a steroid cream Triamcinolone on my face months back. I used it periodically over the course of 3 to 4 months. Now my facial skin looks almost scarred. I can't quite tell if it is permanent scarring or atrophy. Can a steroid cream produce scarring? Is this reversible? How long does it usually take to reverse?
I used some gloves (Nitrile Exam Gloves) and i had a bad irritation because of that. I stoped used the gloves anymore and I went to the doctor. 5%w/v, Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.1%w/v, Chlorhexidine HCl 0.5%w/v. The Muco-Aid is a bottle of liquid lotion, which weigh around 8g. I actually used few times in the window period of 12 weeks. Probably few days before testing too, even a day before testing. I cannot remember the exactly when did I put the lotion in my mouth for ulcers.
I have read somewhere that steroid might delay antibodies production of HIV making the test result not accurate. In this case is Triamcinolone Acetonide.
