Avatar m tn Could you suggest me any metered dose inhaler drug/product applicable in cardiology?
Avatar m tn Spacer devices or dry powder inhalers (DPIs) with simpler mechanisms may be more suitable for younger children than conventional metered-dose inhalers (MDIs), which may be difficult for them to use. When picking out an inhaler, think about how much it will cost, how portable it is, and how easy it is to use. While combination inhalers are convenient for some, others may find that two distinct devices are necessary for both short-term relief and long-term management.
Avatar m tn Have you tried instead using a metered dose inhaler that you attach to a aerochamber? It also has a bit of mask, but they only need to breath in and out (normal breathing) for about 10 seconds, while you hold the chamber. And then they are done. It is not strapped around the head. I never used a nebulizer for my daughter as a toddler, as I don't believe it's standard practice in Canada to do so. They will still get their medication in with less side effects.
Avatar n tn Hi there! We have found the all natural saltpipe inhaler to be an effective long-term way to deepen our daughter's lung capacity. In fact, since using it daily to control her asthma, she has not needed any type of steroid therapy for an entire year now. On rare occasion, she still needs a hit of albuterol via her nebulizer but she doesn't need a daily dose of drugs such as administered through metered-dose or dry powder inhalers.
Avatar n tn You could then reduce the dose of the beta agonist but, unfortunately that could not be done with a metered dose inhaler; would require the use of a nebulizer. You should also discuss this with your doctor. I mentioned individual sensitivity to the beta-agonist class of drugs.
Avatar n tn Was the Advair the propellant kind (metered does inhaler?). Were you diagnosed with eosinophilia?
Avatar m tn Decadron® (dexamethasone) 4 mg is not the therapeutic equivalent of Kenalog® (triamcinolone acetonide) 80 mg. Using the Lexi-Calc corticosteroid conversion formula, the ratio of the 2 would be close to 5:1. So it would take Decadron® (dexamethasone) 16 mg to be approximately the equivalent of Kenalog® (triamcinolone acetonide) 80 mg.
Avatar m tn ) But how serious is an allergic reaction to triamcinolone? Or is it the combination of lidocaine and triamcinolone that caused the mess?
Avatar n tn For example, if you have asthma and a daily low to medium dose inhaled corticosteroid controls your symptoms, you should use that instead of a combination inhaler with a medium dose inhaled corticosteroid and a long acting bronchodilator. The combination inhaler has more medicine, and all that medicine is unnecessary if your asthma is controlled with a low to medium dose inhaled corticosteroid by itself. Your doctor has decided that Combivent is appropriate for your condition at this time.

5894884 tn?1386969571 Where is your inhaler? My asthma seems to get worse with pregnancy, but your inhaler should be working, if not tell your ob. She should prescribe you another one. In the mean time, if you are struggling to breathe, go to the er and get a treatment asap!
Avatar f tn I take symbiotic... Higher dose of steroids.. twice a day an a rescue inhaler. I have been dealing with it from the beginning and have had problems with all 3 pregnancys. The Dr's hate having me on it but I can't go without it.
Avatar n tn Thanks so much, so my nursling's dose is really negligible?
746512 tn?1388807580 I have only had the inhaler for about 2 weeks and notice very painful calf muscle cramps that occur a couple hours after taking the inhaler (suppose to pre-treat for a lecture hall that really bugs me). They seem to be getting worse with every dose (only noticed the last couple of times of using it), today my legs are still very sore and crampy and I took the dose 10 hours ago. It seems to start about 2 hours after I take the albuterol (100mcg, 2 puffs).
Avatar m tn 5%w/v, Triamcinolone Acetonide 0.1%w/v, Chlorhexidine HCl 0.5%w/v. The Muco-Aid is a bottle of liquid lotion, which weigh around 8g. I actually used few times in the window period of 12 weeks. Probably few days before testing too, even a day before testing. I cannot remember the exactly when did I put the lotion in my mouth for ulcers. I have read somewhere that steroid might delay antibodies production of HIV making the test result not accurate. In this case is Triamcinolone Acetonide.
Avatar m tn It would be best to consult your doctor regarding persisting symptoms, he may prescribe additional inhalers or he may change the dose of the steroid inhaler. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Visual diagnosis 3 years ago as plaque psoriasis in the genital area and prescribed Triamcinolone cream 1%. When I felt itchy, I began using the cream immediately. Within a week to 2 weeks of using a small amount of the cream daily my skin healed. Unfortunately it would recur within about a month. Visited derm dr. recently and he diagnosed as herpes. I have not used the cream and have had a lot of pain and outbreak in the same 2 sites.
Avatar n tn OK, First post on forum. Diabetes for 7 years. Type 2 progressed to full insulin shortly. runs in the family. Went to a new doctor today and was getting examined and he told me a new treatment was out. He said about an inhaler. Well I know about insulin inhalers but didn't know if they were used much. So I asked them if this was what he was talking about and he said no. He said the medicine reacted with your pancreas.
Avatar f tn ll get used to the inhaled medicine better or later he will reduce the number of times you need to take the inhaler---or give you an inhaler that delivers less medicine and doesn't have this effect. I hope it's better by now.
757137 tn?1347196453 You are not supposed to have the vaccine for shingles if you have been using steroids. I stopped using Advair (a steroid inhaler) last August, after using it for several years. I don't know if there is damage to my immune system. Is it safe for me to get the vaccine?
