I got a yeast infection mid cycle, after bding. DH is having no problems, so not from him. Is there any other reason for this? Can it be that my body is just not accepting his swimmers? Thanks for any thoughts.

The most likely cause of your symptoms is chronic/recurrent yeast infection, or irritant vaginitis (more likely, I think). Vaginitis just means inflammation of the vaginal/vulvar area. I'm not sure if you've been examined, or have had swabs and had yeast ruled out. If it is yeast, it may be easily treated with an anti-fungal.

No a yeast infection is not an STD, it is simply a bacterial infection. If you go to the pharmacy ask them for medicine for a vaginal yeast infection...you can buy it over the counter and it will work in like 24hours. And eat lots of yogurt, it prevents the bad bacteria from growing that causes a yeast infection.

You can get over the counter medicine for this, or otherwise tell your doctor, (call him/her) and tell her you got a yeast infection from the antibiotics. he can call in a pill that is only one pill to take, and works like magic. It's rather expensive, though. Or, he can also prescribe a cream. Don't worry. it's inconvenient but not serious. It's usually wort before your period.

I'm 16 weeks and I'm suffering from a horrible yeast infection. I took 7 days of terazol and 3 days of monistat. Neither helped. Creams usually don't on me. Diflucan is the only thing that works but my dr. said he doesn't prescribe it during pregnancy. I'm so sick of it. I'm miserable. Has anyone ever taken diflucan when they were pregnant? I have had a reoccurring infection after a root canal over the past two years. Now my hands & feet are swelling up and showing arthritis like symptoms. Very painful. I am having mouth surgery very soon to "clean out" the cavity that has formed from the infection eating away the bone tissue in the area near where the root canal was done.

Okay, I've read so much aboutpid, so I've been extremely careful about it. So I regularly go for check-ups, no abnormal discharge, no pain in the pelvis except during menstruation, but I decided to go for a scan. It was the result that made my doctor treat me for Pid the first time. After that I went for Hvs, and nothing was found except yeast infection. And a transvaginal scan still review 19mm fluid in the POD. I'm currently on treatment for yeast.

I've only had a yeast infection one time & it was during this pregnancy, monistat actually didn't help me & I had to go a week suffering from it waiting for the doctors results just to find out it was actually a yeast infection which is what he thought it was but they couldn't give me anything until the results, either way I got monistat 7 & it didn't help me, but everyone is different. Has anyone was treated for bacterial vaginosis infection or yeast infection during first trimester? What medicine is safe to take for treating these two infections during 12w of pregnancy? My OB has prescribed me fluconazole 150 mg (one tablet only) for yeast infection and metronidazole 500 mg (to take for seven days) to treat bacterial vagnosis infection. She said it is safe however I am still hesitating. Please I need your advices.

You may want to get an STD check up for things like herpes if you had sores/blisters by your anus and vaginal area after sex. However, a yeast infection is absolutely common after taking antibiotics. And it can cause irritation. So, I'd go get it swabbed if you still have the sores and talk to them about the yeast infection. But HIV is not involved here based just on those symptoms.

I had a yeast infection almost my whole pregnancy, o just couldn't shake it. I tried changing my diet, drinking cranberry, probiotics, the cream, felt like I tried everything. Hi, only testing would confirm what this is but it does appear more of a yeast infection than an std. Often with std,s the symptoms are white puss discharge in your urethra and burning while urinating.
