709537 tn?1232584855 Hello, My husband is concerned about side effect he is experiencing since starting Travatan eye drops. In the process of diagnosing possible glaucoma He has been prescribed Travatan [travoprost opthalmic solution) 0.004% 1 gtts Left Eye per day. On day 3 of using these drops he is experiencing the following symptoms: tenderness of the eye [feels bruised when touching lid].
Avatar n tn He uses Brinzolamide 1% and DuoTrav, travoprost(0.004%) and timolol(0.5%) eye drops. His right eye has a vision of 75% and his left at a decreasing 30%.It seems as if the drops are not keeping his remaining vision. This I believe will turn into Glaucoma since his vision is still decreasing. PLEASE,will there be anything to help my father keep his vision the way it is now?Or even better if possible.?
Avatar m tn i may have taken ofloxacin and prednisolone eye drops in my eye 5 times in a day instead of the 4 times like i was supposed to do.will it cause any harm?
Avatar m tn Timolol (5mg) + Travoprost (40mcg) and an eye drop for dry eyes and takes an antioxidant soft gel capsule. 5) He sees the GS once every five months. I talk to the GS after every visit. The GS has always maintained that since my father’s Glaucoma is advanced, the OCT does not have much utility. A visual field test was done yesterday after a year and the results were not reliable.
Avatar f tn I recommend you to visit your doctor's clinic to get detailed information about how to take acular eye drops & its dosage. A specialist in eye caring will going to suggest you in better way.
Avatar m tn Im actually Caucasian, early 30s, I have a referral to a Glacoma Specialist In Halifax NS, Which im still waiting on the call. Until then, Im on 2 sets of eye drops 2 applications AM, One in PM, The scaring is the thing that has me worried, As my local Opthalmologist stated that he can't answer the scaring on the optic nerves and hes unsure if the Specialist in Halifax can even answer it. However one problem (NOT dry eyes) as I hydrate them frequently.
Avatar m tn Get a second opinion from an Eye MD that specializes in external eye disease/corena.
Avatar m tn Has anyone been prescribed Nevanac eye drops for post Vitrectomy/ERM peel surgery ? I was prescribed to take this for 3 months (didn't even have the surgery yet) but the online medical information on it says not to take it for more than 14 days or there could be serious side effects. I'm not big on "blind faith" with what any Doctor just says, especially when it contradicts the warnings to this extreme.
Avatar m tn Hi, I had LASIK on Aug 15. Doctor put me on TobraDex 2 Drops every 2 Hours for the firs day. Second Day he reduced the dosage to 4 drops a day but I mis understood & but 2 drops in each eye 4 times a day. After a week the doctor measured My eye pressure & noted it was a little high. He gave me Alphagan 2 drops a day to control the IOP and asked me to take the topradex 4 times a day for 1 week (one drop each time), then gradually reduce the dosage by one drop every week.
Avatar n tn Hi, just before christmas, i woke up one morning with a really red, tender left eye, after a couple of days of seeing different doctors i was sent to the hospital with an emergency eye appointment. The doctor diagmosed me with iritis & gave me maxidex drops to take 8 times a day.
Avatar n tn htm Iritis is treated with steroid eye drops and red top drops that keep the pupil dilated and at rest. Chances are they treated you with dilation drops that are very long lasting. Sometime oral steroids or steroid injections are needed. A complete work up is often necessary to look for disease in the body that can cause recurrent or persistent iritis.
Avatar m tn So i was hesitant to continue giving the full dosage as is seems to be causing irritation at this point and her eye looks perfect otherwise. We JUST walked in the door from the 10 day check up with the ophthalmologist and the vet said her internal eye is 100% normal. No more swelling, no more of whatever reaction was happening because of the vaccine, but that her top eyelid is still a little inflamed (she said its 90% normal).
Avatar n tn I did get plugs, but how do you tell if they are still there? I started restasis but it burned my eyes so terribly. I put in two drops two times a day and that probably was too much. I had such a terrible reaction to it. It has been about two years and my eyes seem to have recovered, but I would like to try it again. Do you think that is wise? My eyes sting constantly if I do not put drops in every 15 to 20 min. It is difficult. I just need other alternatives. Help need advice.
Avatar f tn My eyes are watering and itching so bad and super sensitive to light. Is there over the counter eye drops that are safe for pregnant people to use?
Avatar n tn I have been trying different eye drops for my dry eyes and the irritation. I am on prescription antibiotics as well but for inbetween. I have tried systane, thera tears, natural tears and my doc gave me optive which has perservatives and the others don't but tried them now. Does anyone find one brand better then others and is there issues with using the preservative ones? He said it was fine to use 4 times a day.
Avatar m tn I just had eye surgery. Doctor prescribed 3 different eye drop medicines for a week. Can anyone tell me what each are for? A friend told me some were dangerous to my eye? Is this true?
Avatar m tn I have been using over the counter eye drops (namely, Opcon A) daily for a few years in order to combat my red eyes. With constant use, I have noticed that they do not work nearly as well anymore, and that my eyes are redder than ever. I read into the subject and have learned that with prolonged use, your eye becomes more dependent on the drops and does in fact become redder. Every morning I wake up with eyes that are extremely bloodshot red and uncomfortable.
Avatar m tn Hello doctor thank you for helping me with my question, one more thing [smile] this is really bothering me how come the doctors could not tell that i had eye dialation drops in my eye, why cant a doctor tell the difference between a blown pupil and a dialated pupil on drops thanks so much
8464451 tn?1409883976 Just regular saline eye drops like a visine are fine. I'd just stay away from anything medicated until you talk to your Dr.
Avatar n tn We use both those drops for every complete eye exam. One numbs the eye and has a dye in it to check pressure and the other dilates the pupil. They are completely metabolized and out of the body in 4-8 hrs MAX. In now way would her symptoms ever be due to those drops. On the other hand those ARE symptoms of cataracts. She doesn't need to have cataract surgery until she feels her vision is a big or moderate problem. I woudl suggest she find a new ophthalmologist and get a second opinion.
