transderm-scop

Avatar f tn I am in need of finding a better treatment for all this nausea (side effect of the triple treatment for my Hep C) and was wondering if any of you have tried the Transderm-Scop patches that you wear for 72 hours. Have tried Zofran and all it gave me was enormous headaches, now using the Phenegran but needed it every 4 hours like clockwork.....ANY opinions and information will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have tried antivert, valium, and the Transderm Scop patch to treat it. The patch helped for a while, but in the past few days seems to have stopped working. Also in the last few days I have had upset stomach, gas, and mild diarrhea. I have been drinking pedialite and gatorade to treat dehydration if that's what it is/prevent dehydration. I am completely at my wits end - I can't work or drive or function or do anything but lie down and not move my head or focus on anything.

Avatar n tn My wife has had the same symptoms as you after using the Transderm-Scop patch on a 7 day cruise that ended Jan. 20. The symptoms started just over 24 hours after she took the patch off. The first week was Hell; she couldn't even stand up straight because of the dizziness, the nausea was terrible, her vision was so blurred she couldn't see plus she had the worst headache of her life.
Avatar f tn He sent me for a hearing test, which was normal. Then he took me off Antivert and had me try transderm-scop patches but I had an allergic reaction to it. So now I'm on Valium and Compazine. I would say those medications help about 50% of the way. I don't feel as dizzy, but if I'm up and about too long I eventually need to lay down. The nausea is mostly gone as long as I keep with the compazine.
Avatar f tn Has anyone that has gastricparesis tried Zelnorm? It was working for me and than they took it off the market. My doctor just suggested a drug from Canada named domperidone. Does anyone have any experience with this drug. I tried Reglan and couldn't handle the side affects. Erithamyacin made me break out in a rash. Right now I depend on Zofran for the throwing up and sometimes it doesn't help.
Avatar f tn I've actually been wondering for quite a while if thyroid meds could be delivered via "transderm patch", like they do with motion sickness meds, birth control hormones, etc. Yes, they would be especially great for delivering a continuous dose of T3, but they would have their uses for T4 also. For one, they would bypass the gut and all the interections with food and problems with absorbtion. I actually emailed the question to Abbott a while back.
148588 tn?1465778809 Hmmm, I heard a report that the drug shortage was on meds not making pharmaceutical companies enough profit, not that the drugs weren't working. Why are the people on the bottom being asked to sacrifice while the top is making record profits? In my opinion until our values alter, away from greed, nobody is going to want to 'sacrifice' anything.
Avatar n tn I was doing alot of research last night on the shortage and I have seen that alot of people are going to the compound pharmacy to get their 30 mg. They are compounding it with ginger in the Tampa area I know and some other areas too. It seems they are expensive though at 5 bucks a pill:( I called mallinckrodt last night also and they say that the shortage will soon end.
Avatar f tn I just went to see my endo today for a 6 month check up and was told that there is a shortage on Thyrogen in the US and that I'd have to off meds for 6 weeks this time instead of getting the thyrogen injections like I have since my second scan. I simply cannot fathom going off meds again for 6 weeks. It was a horrible experience for me the first time and I simply do not have three more years to get myself back on track again after it's over.
Avatar f tn I would have to say anyone that could not see a food shortage coming as a result of all this and the rising prices as a result would have to have their head in a hole somewhere. Our water supply is at risk as well. So is it the result of our government trying to take us over? lol sorry. Nope, we are killing our planet and seems it is fighting for survival. In other words believe it or not, the bible is being fulfilled.
Avatar m tn Michigan seems to be having this problem too :\
1903798 tn?1333905288 I was really sick to my stomach the morning I was to fly home so I asked for NS to call in a sticker and I have been fine since (3 days now). I am just wondering if those with nausea problems have tried transderm scopolamine 1.5 mg dis. I think I am going to talk to my PCP about it tomorrow it says it is a anticholinergic agent used for preventing nausea and vomiting associted with motion sickness and recovery from anesthesia and surgery.
617846 tn?1231553233 I suffer from profound episodes of vertigo, so the doctor has prescribed me a 1.5 mg transderm patch. I only use it when the vertigo is extremely severe. My problem is this: When I apply the patch, (behind the ear, either right or left) I immmediately experience extreme anisocoria in whichever eye is nearer the patch. While I am curious about this, mostly because it is not listed under side/adverse effects,it is not my priority concern.
Avatar n tn 25mg pills they will have to step you down slowly or risk seizure a good phyic doctor can do this for you this will take some time even if its just 1 bar mabe a mo but longer if it is muti bars a day leve this one to the professionals this is beyond the scop of a home detox good luck and God bless......
606423 tn?1271824088 I guess they changed their formulation or something along thos lines and thats why there is a shortage. A lot of us have switched to other natural brands such as Westhroid and Naturethroid.
535882 tn?1396576685 Have you noticed any differences in the consistency of the NP tablets since the "shortage"? I had yet another shortage here last month.
Avatar f tn A coalition of health care groups has suggested some legislative and regulatory steps in addressing the drug-shortage crisis. Among them are creating an early drug-shortage warning system, streamlining the FDA's approval process, improving communications between stakeholders, and exploring incentives to encourage drug manufacturers to stay in, or re-enter, the market.
Avatar f tn He is 9 yrs old and is autistic. He has excessive drooling, we have tried ot, his diet. reminders to swallow, transderm patches, ect....... 535882 tn?1396576685 Whats the possible problems with using 2 different brands or a combo of compound plus a brand of natural thyroid short term to get over a shortage of a brand of thyroid being available???? any thoughts on this?
Avatar n tn After the first week the lab told us that there was a nationwide shortage of the necessary reagent and it would take an extra week for results. After two weeks they told us that they had the reagent and the sample, and we would have results in a week. After the third week they told us we didn't make it into the previous batch and it would take a further week.

Avatar m tn Tomorrow I will be doing my 3rd shot and have struggled with the nausea and vomiting. I'm on Zofran and Transderm-Scop patch - which is the patch behind the ear that lasts for 72 hours. Between the two, I have it under control, although I can definitely tell when both of them are due. I've tried to stop both of them independently, but as soon as I do, I'm back to square one. Hope this help.
Avatar f tn Trigger shot shortage as anyone heard of this? I just found out next month my doctor is going to do an IUI for the first time and I guess there is a shortage on the trigger shot. Does anyone know where to get this, I have tried all the web sites I found and they are all out of them. I really want to have this done but am afraid that it will not work without this. HELP PLEASE!
Avatar f tn I have stage 4 epithelial ovarian resistant cancer. I had 20 cycles of taxo/carbo and my Ca125 was down to 20 from 4,000 before debulking and any chemo. After the debulking and 1 chemo, my CA125 went to 3,000. The scans at 20 didn't show anything. Then 3 weeks later the Ca125 went to 24. 2weeks later it went to 25 and then 2 weeks later 26. We knew it reared its head. After these scans it spread to inside my liver. I never had it inside an organ. Either it was on top or underneath.
Avatar m tn However, recently I have been experiencing shortage of breath every time I wake up from sleeping and it is accompanied with dry cough ... Sometimes it happens to me 3 or 4 time a day and sometimes it does not happen to me daily. anyways I have been taking Ventolin as it provides me with temporary relief, but am still worried from the causes of this feeling of heavy lungs and shortage of breath.
Avatar n tn Report these pharmacies as they are breaking the law and taking advantage of the shortage. For people that are on a fixed income, this is a horrendous situation. Don't ignore this; act on this as it will only benefit you and the rest of us! The text below is from the FDA's website.
