transderm-scop

Avatar f tn I am in need of finding a better treatment for all this nausea (side effect of the triple treatment for my Hep C) and was wondering if any of you have tried the Transderm-Scop patches that you wear for 72 hours. Have tried Zofran and all it gave me was enormous headaches, now using the Phenegran but needed it every 4 hours like clockwork.....ANY opinions and information will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn I have tried antivert, valium, and the Transderm Scop patch to treat it. The patch helped for a while, but in the past few days seems to have stopped working. Also in the last few days I have had upset stomach, gas, and mild diarrhea. I have been drinking pedialite and gatorade to treat dehydration if that's what it is/prevent dehydration. I am completely at my wits end - I can't work or drive or function or do anything but lie down and not move my head or focus on anything.

Avatar n tn My wife has had the same symptoms as you after using the Transderm-Scop patch on a 7 day cruise that ended Jan. 20. The symptoms started just over 24 hours after she took the patch off. The first week was Hell; she couldn't even stand up straight because of the dizziness, the nausea was terrible, her vision was so blurred she couldn't see plus she had the worst headache of her life.
617846 tn?1231553233 When I apply the patch, (behind the ear, either right or left) I immmediately experience extreme anisocoria in whichever eye is nearer the patch. While I am curious about this, mostly because it is not listed under side/adverse effects,it is not my priority concern. What I am alarmed about is that the alternate eye loses the ability to adjust in any manner. The opposing pupil becomes fixed and will not react to any variations in light. Could someone please advise?
Avatar f tn He sent me for a hearing test, which was normal. Then he took me off Antivert and had me try transderm-scop patches but I had an allergic reaction to it. So now I'm on Valium and Compazine. I would say those medications help about 50% of the way. I don't feel as dizzy, but if I'm up and about too long I eventually need to lay down. The nausea is mostly gone as long as I keep with the compazine.
Avatar f tn I had my gallbladder removed in July of 2006 and was diagnosed with gastric paresis in Sept. I was diagnosed first with irratiable bowel syndrome and I went back in after 5 months of pain and said I wanted my gallbladder checked. It was out 4 days later. I'm trying to find out if there was injury to my vagus nerve and was it caused by the surgeon. Any experience with this?
Avatar f tn In theory, cloning the new thyroid tissue from stem cells and modiffying immune system so it would stop attcking the thyroid should take care of this problem; this approach was selected to treat the diabetes [without modifying genetics though]
1903798 tn?1333905288 I was really sick to my stomach the morning I was to fly home so I asked for NS to call in a sticker and I have been fine since (3 days now). Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the MS community, your Autism question has landed in the wrong community but we do have a some parents in our community that have ASD kids so we still might be able to help you a little... Firstly, I think you need to do is to get him assessed by at least an ear, nose and throat specialist, solutions differ greatly depending on the causation, surgery, botox, therapy, skill set training etc will only benefit him if the underlying cause is being taken into account.
Avatar m tn Tomorrow I will be doing my 3rd shot and have struggled with the nausea and vomiting. I'm on Zofran and Transderm-Scop patch - which is the patch behind the ear that lasts for 72 hours. Between the two, I have it under control, although I can definitely tell when both of them are due. I've tried to stop both of them independently, but as soon as I do, I'm back to square one. Hope this help.
Avatar f tn I seen my Mom go through this pain, patches such as transderm, fetanyl,or ms contin (morphine extended release)every twelve hours with say percoset every 6 hours for breakthrough pain(as needed) is best and not to sedating. The patches are best for the constipation, wich I'm sure you'll have.Wobenzyme is supposed to be good for that.I don't want you to be in pain .Run these suggestions by your oncologist.A stool softener in senokot for constipation is a must.
Avatar m tn They used to help about 60% of the time but now I have break through nausea sometimes even when I have taken them both. Transderm scope seems to help occasionally to but I have a site reaction to the adhesive in the patch. I have radically changed my diet and lifestyle to try to help my body heal. I've spent thousands on "natural healing products and specialist." I am at my wits end. No one seem to have any answers. My quality of life is severely impacted by this.
Avatar n tn for more patches. I then reapplied the patch and again began feeling better in a few hours. In the mean time I saw a ENT he said I needed to get off the patch so my body would normalize on its own, and believed I had some motion sickness yet brought on by the cruise and did not know how long it would last. I then removed the patch a 3rd. time and again became very sick, nausea and vomiting the first 24 hours.
Avatar m tn Case study, there is a 58 year old female at the clinic for follow up angina appointment. Last visit she was started on NTG transderm 0.4 mg/hr every 24 and sublingual NTG 0.4 mg PRN. Durign her first week of therapy, her weekly angina episodes decreased from 4 to 1 per week. After three weeks her episodes returned to 4 weekly. All occurred with activity and were relieved by rest and sublingual nitro. Her daily medications include Digoxin 0.
Avatar f tn The scews to it came loose, but it was left in for months before they decided to put in a new one. So my pain has been on-going. I wasn't told how addictive this patch is. I am now on the patch plus oxycodone. The reason I tried to quit the patch was because I thought that the pills would be sufficient for the pain I am now experiencing in my shoulder. This has been a nightmare. My question is....how long do withdrawal symptoms last?
Avatar n tn Saturday morning, it spread to the left eye so we used the antibiotic in the left eye. From what we were told, it takes about 24 hours for her not to be contagious anymore. This morning, she woke up with what looks like blood in her eye. Almost one half of her eye (white part only) looks like it is filled with blood. I know it is probably just from a tear in her blood vessel...but could it be related directly to pink eye? It doesn't hurt her, just looks really gross!
Avatar f tn No, wash your face and eyelids. Get some artificial tears (lubricants) and use every 30 minutes for about 2 hours. If your eye feels fine that is all you need to do. If the eye is very irritated, you can buy eye wash/eye irrigation fluid and put directly on eye to wash out any residual oil.
Avatar m tn I went to the eye doctor not too long ago and he said I have a small pigment in my left eye. He said it was like a freakle in the eye. Could this be Retinitis Pigmentosa? Would this be a first sign of RP? If this is just a freakle can it grow to be RP?
Avatar m tn You cannot get HIV from getting a drop (or more) blood in your eye. Most likely, it wasn't even blood at all, sounds like your anxiety is getting the best of you.
Avatar n tn I have hard a small lump slightly below the tear duct area of my eye for a couple of months now. There is no pain in the area. Recently the area is starting to get reddish. I'm planning to go see a doctor but would like some advice on how serious this is? Or an idea what it is.
Avatar n tn is it high or low risk to get HIV if HIV-infected semen gets in someone's eye? also, does semen sting the eye(even a little bit) if it gets inside the eye? also, is it high or low risk to get HIV if a man who's infected with HIV ejaculates on the outside area(skin) surrounding the anus?
Avatar n tn hello, have you been tested for hiv yet? I want to know as I just got semen in my eye from a guy who tells me he is negative, but refuses to take an hiv test! Is this a warning sign that I should be concerned about? Should I start the PEP-- the exposure just happened an hour ago.
Avatar n tn What can you do at home to help sooth and heal the eye after asbestos has gotten in it ? Hot compresses, cold compresses, or etc....
Avatar m tn My question is that does pre cum sting if it hits your eye and if his pre cum did get in my eye am I at risk for HIV and should be put on PEP?
