Avatar f tn I have been on Tramadol for 5 yrs now--1 tablet dailey as needed, for low back pain. Every day that I do take a Tramadol, that night I have the hypnagogic jerks as I am starting to fall asleep. They scare me so much that I am not taking the Tramadol and am suffering with my back pain. They make my whole body jump . I also get hiccups every time I take a Tramadol. This all started happening a few months ago. Please--is there another pain pill I can take without haveing the jerks? Thank you.
3072999 tn?1356414732 I'm currently on Tramadol 50 mg....but only "as needed". I find it helps with the pain from muscle spasms -- which is currently the only pain I have, thank goodness! This was prescribed to me by my new pain management MD, as the one that "dismissed" me from her practice only wanted to shove Dilaudid at me (which I balked at=dismissal from practice)! I'm finding that, as I heal, I've been able to go longer and longer without needing it...
Avatar m tn well after Detox, and 30+ days of sobriety, I found that the closer I got to the real pain of the arthritic knee, and lack of cushion, a man of only 36 years, could not function, I looked and looked for a non narcotic alternative, and viola the introduced01 me to tramadol, 300MGs a day. not that I dug further, and am finding out more I'm pissed, the pain I made myself go through, now after being on it for a week and a half I feel screwed, what options do I have?
Avatar m tn Ok folks, I know I haven't been on here for a month or so, but I need some advice. I am having a big problem with my right knee. I had both knees partially replaced in 2010. I developed pretty bad lymphedema in left leg. Left knee hurt a lot longer. Went back after a year and doctor said there were some issues, cement fragment, weak MCL, big space. He told me to exercise to strengthen muscles. I've been going to PT for three months.
1699107 tn?1307306696 I have been completely off Oxys for about a week and never did have really bad withdrawals. But the PAIN in my knee and back is devastating. I can hardly take care of myself it hurts so bad. Simple thinks like showers or getting down stairs are very hard. I don't know what is going to happen at this appointment but I do NOT want to live in this kind of pain.
Avatar m tn For over 3 years I have been taking 200-300mg tramadol for severe knee pain. I had a complete knee replacement 10-5-09 and was put on Tylanol 3 but the Tramadol was withdrawn. I could not do therapy without both so I took it. My therapy went well until my wife decided I was addicted and dumped the Tramadols down the drain. That was4 days ago and I still can't get my life back. I have thought suicide, seperation along with various other options ...
20808045 tn?1516951885 I continue to do at home exercises as well as taking tramadol. My pain is continuing to increase as well as now I am having pain in my other knee, lower back, and hip. The dr just prescribed me lyrica and celbrex on top of the tramadol. I am scared as I am already showing signs of depression.
Avatar m tn Hi. I will be having knee surgery again and I was wondering if anyone knows of something I can request from my doctor that wont get me hooked. I cant take hydrocodone as I will quickly abuse it and use up all the pills they give me. I also fear Tramadol for any period of time as I hear the withdrawals are horrific. Any suggestions?
Avatar m tn I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
Avatar n tn I am fighting the urge to take another tramadol for the pain because those are addictive. The recommended dose is 4 a day and I am only taking 2.
Avatar m tn Your prescribing physician should always taper-off any patient who needs or wants to stop taking Tramadol just like any pain medicine, esp. opioid pain meds such as Tramadol. But more important, Hydrocodone WD's(withdrawals) is much more difficult to endure than Tramadol's WD's BY FAR!!! In fact, all/most pro football players who get hurt w/minor injuries on the field are given Tramadol to ease the pain so they may continue to play the rest of the game.
Avatar n tn I tried taking some aspirin yesterday for my migraine and knee but a few hours later I felt like electricity was running through my body and shaky...I am thinking the aspirin didnt vibe with some of the vitamins I am taking. What do yall recommend?
Avatar n tn I am a woman of 49 who had a small stroke about a year ago, Ever since my pain in my left knee has gotten worse, I have been to a reumatologist and my own primary care physician. I am on "Lisinopril" and "Amlodipine" for blood pressure/cholestrol and on 50 mg. Tramadol for the pain in my knees. I was told I would need total knee replacement at some point. My pharmacy and doctor has let me down with getting me the Tramadol, right now I am waiting a week to get my prescription.
Avatar f tn Tramadol has taken care of the pain. My pain physician says it is safe but I have been depressed and my stomach hurts for the last three days. I went down to 350 mg a month ago. Would I have withdrawals at this dosage for this amount of time? I can't take NSAIDS either, they burn a hole in my stomach, can anyond recommend a non narcotic that has nothing to do with opiate receptors?
Avatar f tn It started with my left knee just hurting occasionallu, to my knee hurting all the time, to my knee hurting all the time and then occasional swelling, to my knee hurting all the time and it is swollen 24-7. The pain gets so bad that I get what feels like an electric stabbing pain and my knee gives out. And my hips start hurting as well. I tested for RA and it came back as negative, j went to an orthopedic surgeon, and everything came back nothing.
Avatar n tn m scared of Tramadol And I wont be given anything else until I try the Tramadol to actually see if I get do get a reaction. So now I sit in pain that makes me cry it gets so bad.. I've never abused any drugs. but once did run out a day sooner then I should have, How do I get my Dr to listen to me, What I'm doing is clearly the wrong approach.
Avatar f tn This is long, I am sorry but wanted to get it all out. I have been dealing with severe knee pain for years...pain that interferes with my daily activities and my life. We aren't talking about a little soreness and tenderness...I'm talking about pain that I cannot ignore, brings me to tears, and makes it near impossible to live a "quality" life. Long story short, I had some horrible experiences with doctors. Last April I had the worst experience ever.
512528 tn?1212463501 I've taken 14 tramadol throughout the day today. I don't feel like I've taken too much, but it STILL hasn't gotten rid of the pain. Are 14 50mg pills too much?
3110545 tn?1343308648 i had a knee injury last month and my doctor prescribed tramadol it helped it really did but i have nausea and pain everywhere after stopping the drug it's like it has a withdrawal effect ... any ideas ?
Avatar f tn Yes, Tramadol is a centrally acting atypical opioid analgesic. And as you know Codipar is an opiate as well due to the codeine. What makes Tramadol "atypical" is the SNRI effects. Using paracetamol WITH Tramadol can boost the pain benefits ....but the dr that called you must not think it is safe.... or necessary to be on these TWO opioids at the same time. I would ask the dr who called you to assist you in getting off one or the other.
Avatar m tn m stopping the hydro but wanted to give me knee a couple of more weeks to adjust...the meds mask the pain so I can move and interact with my clients physically, i.e. walking, communicating, lunches & dinners, etc. I do not need to get a buzz from the meds. So I have these Ultram ER - extended release @ 100 mg; one pill per day. Has anyone used these before and what about them? BTW - I have cut down on travel considerably but this has been going on and off since April and surgery in June..
Avatar n tn Sorry to hear about the accident by the way. Did you end up in the hospital? tramahater or avis will be on at some time and will be able to tell you better what you should do as this was their DOC. How are you doing other than this??
1322679 tn?1274583713 I'm trying to get off of tramadol prescribed by my doctor. I've tried a few times which is hard since the doctor gives me like 180 for 30 days and by the time I seem to come to the end of my usual 3 to 4 day withdrawal period, my brain tells me I'm good and I go pick up another prescription. My big problem is that I get really "weird" for lack of a better word and almost dizzy when I go through withdrawals. I'm in a constant haze, can't concentrate or anything.
Avatar n tn I'm 60 and have had pain from a total knee replacement in 2006. I've been on the fentanyl patchs 50mg every 3 days for 3 or 4 years. Valium--on and off for 25 years. The pain dr is cutting my patches to 25mg and slowly tapering me off them. They no longer provide any type of relief, due to being on the same dose for so many years. The dr seemed more concerned about the valium. Today I started taking 15mg istead of 20mg. How long should I stay at 15mg before cutting back to 10mg??
Avatar n tn My Husband is now 28 years old and suffers from chronic pain in his left knee and hip. The pain started in February of 2007 and quickly became so bad he needs a cane to walk. He has weakness in his leg and it sometimes "gives out".
