Avatar f tn My daughter has been on Doxil { called caylex in the UK} for 9 months now, for a recurrance, yes her bones hurt, she was on Tramadol until recently, they switched her to something else, don't know the name yet, her scans and CA125 show improvemnet. There are so many things a person can do to " feel better" while doing chemo, diet, exercise, attitude, I like the Lance Armstrong saying, I have cancer but cancer does not have me.
Avatar f tn Tramadol (ultram) is for any kind of pain, not just cancer-related. It's actually pretty mild on the narcotic pain med scale. Tramadol can be taken by humans and dogs. It's a synthetic "look alike" to opiate-based medications. Docs love this stuff because it's supposed to be non-addictive. It didn't take long before people started showing up in rehab addicted and going through withdrawal.
1186310 tn?1300297766 You're a very smart woman! Perfect attitude. You'll be fine! I'll say a lttle prayer for you also. That's a pretty powerfiul pain reliever from my experience. Good luck!
Avatar m tn feet is excruciating. He learned that the MSIR, given for the cancer treatment pain, was able to manage the neuropathic pain. There has been no etiology determined for the neuropathy. His Lumbar puncture was normal except for elevated protein. His skin is very hot when his pain is bad, & he is lightheaded & unsteady.
Avatar f tn I would need to take something else the other month. I was in Hawaii recently and I saw what coconuts look like growing on a palm tree. There is a tough green husk and underneath is the brown coconut we know, and inside of that is the white coconut "meat". Tramadol is the first medicine I've taken that gets all the way to the "meat" of my endometriosis pain.
Avatar f tn I will be going to Stanford soon and hopefully they can adjust it. Do you know any other medicines like Tramadol that are good for pain that are non narcotic?
Avatar m tn Anyway, the doctor recently prescribed Tramadol for the pain. It did help ease the pain, but I also found out that it helped with another big problem I have...depression. I've tried Effexor, Wellbutrin and a few other meds in the past for my depression, but they really didn't do much for me. The Tramadol, I have found, works for the depression like the others couldn't. I have energy. When I wake up, I actually feel like doing stuff. I don't feel negative.
Avatar f tn Thank you for sharing your story. After doing some research I found that Tramadol was a pain relief option and started giving it to her this afternoon after checking with the vet. Ashes is down to 77 lbs so I'm giving her 100mg twice daily. It seems to be helping her a bit but her mobility is not improving. I'm not sure if the immobility is tied in with the liver cancer or if the stress of the liver cancer is flaring up her arthritis.
968560 tn?1307451498 im think about asking him for ultram(tramadol) for the back pain. is anybody familiar with this med for pain? he is giving me ambien 10mg for sleep. i don want to get addicted to anything.
Avatar f tn I am concern as to whether tramadol can cause cancer of the liver. I also have pain, (not severe, more dull and annoying than anything) in the liver area. Does anyone have even a guess as to whats going on with my body? I am currently weaning myself off so that I can conceive a child, but it will take at least another month or two. Could it just be that the tramadol irritates my stomach? I also take excedrin on a daily basis for migraines that I have suffered from for years.
Avatar n tn It sounds like your dog is in a whole lot of pain. All that restlessness and bed spinning is likely a result of pain. Tramadol is OK for mild to moderate pain, but I can't imagine it touching the pain of cancer. With these kinds of fast and short-acting meds, you end up with peaks and valleys of relief and increased pain as the pill wears off. Ask your vet if the fentanyl patch is an option at this time.
535089 tn?1400673519 He is 10 lbs... Can I give him my tramadol for his pain??...and if yes... How many milligrams should I give him? He is still limping and acting very depressed... The carprofen is not working...
Avatar f tn I have been having acute back and nerve pain for many years, after a failed spinal operation. I am currently taking 50 Mcg.patches of Fentayl plus 50 Mgs of Tramadol.. 4 times a day. My primary care doctor has now prescribed adding 50 mg of Lyrica, twice a day. Can I start the Lyrica while still on the patches and Tramadol and How can I reduce the Tramadol while continuing Fentayl with the Lyrica with minimalTramadol withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar n tn My 7 year old neutured poodle has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. It has also spread to his bladder and kidneys. The prognosis is "how much time does he have left". There is no treatment available. Is there anyway we can ease his pain during his last time? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Now I understand you better. You don't get the high that most addicts and are a pain pt. who became "physicaly dependent" on narcotics. This is good for you because it makes quitting much much easier to taper and quit.. Many people treat all addictions the same but in your cases, it is much different. Tramadol, doesn't even give you a high and isn't even regraded as a good pain med.
862849 tn?1239150571 im seeing urology on 12th may, having fasting blood tests done at my gp on wednesday and im currently on tramadol and amytryptaline for pain which seems to be helping,my gp says i have lesions on my bladder and that there is no cure as removing them only means they will grow back....................??both myself and my husband are worried that i have cancer as i know only 2% of bladder lesions are benign, the rest malignant................
901372 tn?1242309047 Like morphine, tramadol binds to receptors in the brain (opioid receptors) that are important for transmitting the sensation of pain from throughout the body to. Tramadol, like other narcotics used for the treatment of pain, may be abused. Tramadol is not a nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drug (NSAID) and does not have the increased risk of stomach ulceration and internal bleeding that can occur with NSAIDs.
Avatar m tn I went to a local pain management doctor who gave me a prescription for klonopin for help with the jitters of withdrawl. Well I lined up the pills on my dresser so they would be ready and I would not have to fumble with prescription bottles when in withdrawl. I took the first 2 and thats all I remember. Apparently I took an overdose and blackedout for a week.
Avatar n tn He knows nothing about Doctor Shopping, it was my idea for him to see a doctor somewhere to get help for his severe pain - he has degenerative arthritis in his neck with compressed and bulging disks so I thought I was helping by taking him to my local doctor (I didn't realize he wouldn't mention the Tramadol and I think his anger, etc.
Avatar f tn No, do not take Tramadol. Unless you want to make your withdrawals worse and prolonged. I use to have an addiction to hydrocodone. Once took 40 Norco in 14 hours. And I can tell you Tramadol is Far more dangerous to get involved with! The withdrawals are worse than Heroin, many many people have said. I have had withdrawals from Methadone, and I can tell you Tramadol is just as bad. Tramadol is bad news, not to start is the best idea!
