Avatar f tn Can I start the Lyrica while still on the patches and Tramadol and How can I reduce the Tramadol while continuing Fentayl with the Lyrica with minimalTramadol withdrawal symptoms.
Avatar f tn Has any one had experience with taking suboxone SHORT TERM, (4 days) for withdrawal symptoms from tramadol. I used suboxone to help with the withdrawal symptoms of oxicodone over a year ago. It helped alot. They got me through that ring of fire. But I was perscribed tramadol over a month ago for back pain from an injury @ work. I no longer have the pain, all healed up, but I can not make it through the day with out the tramadole.
1201433 tn?1328997637 Physical dependence and withdrawal Tramadol is associated with the development of physical dependence and a severe withdrawal syndrome.[57] Tramadol causes typical opiate-like withdrawal symptoms as well as atypical withdrawal symptoms including seizures. The atypical withdrawal symptoms are probably related to tramadol's effect on serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake.
Avatar m tn Yesterday, I had 2 teeth pulled and my mother in law gave me some tramadol. Without even thinking (and I think I was under the impression that it wasn’t an opioid) I took a 50mg. My question is.. when can I safely take my suboxone dose?
983592 tn?1249762935 I had to stop cold turkey from over 375mgs a day on Effexor to zero, rather than the 6 week withdrawal and it was worse than heroine withdrawal. (not that I have ever done heroine but that;s what they told me) It was extremely difficult and the psychosis was horrendous. Just the brain wanting the drug back again. It wasn't even a valium based one! ( I had heart issues and was told my dose was a mistake..after 8 years!!!!!!
Avatar m tn Oh g-d I know exactly how you're feeling. Trams DO suck - (yeah let the moderators delete that word whatever) - but they do. It was the strangest withdrawal of my life - and I had been on other opiates over the years for different health issues and the withdrawal from those was nothing compared to the tramadol withdrawal (for me at least - I know we're all different). But I can totally relate to what you're talking about.
Avatar m tn Yes. Long term use of pain killers, even tramadol can change the pain receptors and when you stop using it you can experience heightened sensitivity and rebound pain. Of course, if you've been using it for pain related reasons its also possible that the health condition that prompted the doctor to prescribe tramadol hasn't been resolved.
Avatar f tn Last week I did not take tramadol at all and began to feel achy all over and tired. I took the pill. Yesterday, I took no tramadol again and had all the symptoms I see described here--restless all over, unable to sleep, achy, etc. I took a tramadol this morning and the symptoms went away. My question: what is best here? Stop both of them? Stop the Tramadol and continue the percocet for a week(1 pill a night) and then stop the percocet? Stop both together?
Avatar f tn Chronic use during pregnancy may lead to physical dependence and post-partum withdrawal symptoms in the newborn (seeDRUG ABUSE AND DEPENDENCE). Tramadol has been shown to cross the placenta. The mean ratio of serum tramadol in the umbilical veins compared to maternal veins was 0.83 for 40 women given tramadol during labor. The effect of tramadol hydrochloride, if any, on the later growth, development, and functional maturation of the child is unknown.
Avatar f tn I read in one of the threads that you can't mix tramadol and antidepressants. Is this true? What are the risks? My Dr. has me on both - I am trying to very slowly cut back on the Tram. I pill every week. I know it is painfully slow - but it is all I am able to do right now. I am working on alternative pain management methods, and getting the courage up to dump the pills once and for all.
Avatar f tn I have been taking vicodin and tramadol for over 15 years and really want to stop taking them because they are ruining my life. But the pain from withdrawal is unbearable. I am at my wits end n don't know how to ease the withdrawal symptoms. Any ideas?
Avatar m tn When was the last time you used Tramadol?

Avatar n tn Mr Junig I currently quit cold turkey on tramadol and was taking a very high dose and am having really bad withdrawal. How long do you think i will feel this way or what can i do to get the opiates out of my body faster than just sitting it out?
Avatar m tn Hey guys, Im new here and wanted some advice. Ive been taking Tramadol and Hydrocodone together for about three months off and on, perscribed of course, then I started reading how bad withdrawals can be from the Tramadol, so I quit taking it cold turkey with little side effects. Now I'm getting ready to quit this Hydrocodone, just a little scared from withdrawal and what to expect. will it be bad after just three months. averaged about 40 mgs. daily.
Avatar m tn Tramadol is a synthetic opiate, and it is addictive. You are not taking a lot, so it might not be so bad. If this is your first time, and you have not been abusing your script, I would think that you should probably be ok. I remember the first time I quit, I was taking a much heavier dose of hydrocodone, but the w/ds ended quickly. I am no professional, but if you want to quit, I would encourage you to go a day without your pill and see how you feel.
Avatar m tn After taking 150 mg tramadol for 2 1/2 years, and tapering for 4 months, how long will withdrawal last? This discussion is related to Tramadol withdrawal.
Avatar f tn What makes me wonder, is you said you have not had any sleep in a week. Just two (2) hours. And you took a Tramadol 24 hours ago. You have to stop taking the Tramadol 100%, before your sleep will return to normal. Taking Tramadol will only put you back at square one all over again. You have to get off 100% and HEAL. Your sleep is not going to return to normal unless you quit Tramadol 100%, then go 2-4 weeks without it. But 7 years is a long time to be on them.
Avatar f tn he then gave me TRAMADOL 50mg and said to alternate 4 Norco 3 TRAMADOL ..this is my of 2nd week of alternating 3 TRAMADOL, 3 NORCO every 4 hours....but am confused on how to taper off both drugs......I want to be off pain meds.....any suggestions? I also take NEURONTIN 300mg 3 times a day will I need to taper off these too? Help.....
Avatar f tn A friend of mine gave me her Tramadol to try and I was assured that she had been taking it on and off for years with O withdrawal. I took it for almost 2 months while grieving the loss of my dog. I decided on Monday to stop all together and could not believe how awful I feel. NOTHING like coming off of Oxy, but still extremeley uncomfortable and "couch bound", flu symptoms and horrible headache. I could not believe it.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am a 24 year old registered nurse, and I have read all of these postings and researched tramadol, and have realized that I am addicted to it. I have recently been experiencing dizziness, a feeling like I'm coming out of my skin, diarrhea and nausea. I never would have believed it was tramadol withdrawal. I just took my normal dose of it, and my symptoms are gone, I'm taking that as a big sign of addiction.
Avatar m tn It can be taken together safely. If you have any worries talk to your doctor as well as your pharmacist. Using either for a short time, you needn't worry. In general, my feeling is Tramadol is the worse of the two. For some reason a lot of doctors think Tramadol doesn't cause dependence or addiction. The truth is it can and does. And Tramadol can be harder to come off because it has two components to it. One is the pain reliever part and the other is an antidepressant-like part.
471344 tn?1228755027 Went to the obgyn and had an ultrasound and everything seems good by the doctor. I have taken about 50-100mg of Ultram throughout this whole pregnancy for back pain. I told my obgyn about it on my first appointment and he didnt have much to say about it. He didn't tell me to stop either. The pain in my back is terrible and I have to work I have no choice. I have read alot about class C drugs but there is so much contravercial info I dont know what to belive about it?
Avatar n tn So after a few days, any withdrawal you feel is going to be a tramadol withdrawal and not a hydrocodone withdrawal. And yes, it will be worse, there are many more horror stories about tram than hydrocodone. I had a doctor try to take me off of hydrocodone by giving me tramadol a few years ago when I was stopping meds after a surgery, and the withdrawals were terrible.
