Avatar m tn As a migraine sufferer, what you want to know is what to do to prevent them, and what to do should one begin. However, in order to prevent migraines and minimize them once they begin, I think people should at least understand the basics of what is going on in their bodies. It makes things a lot clearer, and it helps with things, such as controlling diet.

It helps with my migraines - for a while I didn't think it did until I was without my Rx for s couple of days and realized it helps a lot!! Some people I know have the side effect of weight loss - some have had the side effect of losing their hair. I didn't do either but my toe nails turned extremely hard and look like I have a nail fungus but I don't. I gained weight - I have leg cramps - my skin is dryer.

Avatar f tn Mood swings, short term memory loss, swelling on lips and hands can also occur due to side effects of drugs for headaches like topiramate. So ask your doctor about the side effects of any drugs that you are taking. If he is losing strength on his left side, it can be due to the cyst or TIA or a mini stroke or even due to a pinched nerve high up in cervical region. If your husband had a CT then go for MRI of the brain and cervical spine. It is difficult to comment beyond this on net.

Avatar m tn But I will give you some opinions. If the fever was very high 105 or you had 102 degree F for a day or two you could get damage to the cochlea in the ear. You could got to an ENT and have your ears checked and see if your dizziness is related to meniers disease and if you have lost any hearing on that side. If it is Meniers they can treat it with water pills. If not they may do a CT scan to rule out an acoustic neuroma. This is a benign brain tumor behind the ear.
Avatar f tn He could have been meaning high blood pressure. That has been known to cause headaches and the relaxing you do helps it tone down or go away. If you know someone who can check your blood pressure at least once a day, at different times of the day, write it down to monitor where you're running on that, and present it to the MD. Have you tried any sinus headache medicine to see if that could help? How about caffeine (coffee or mountain dew is best) and see if that helps.

Avatar f tn Whenever one supplements with B's it's good to also take a B-complex to make sure you don't get your Bs out of balance. But all this is speculation, of course.
253566 tn?1219683299 I have quite a few friends from the Hep C forum, but I'm not really familiar with what all you have to through to get a clean bill of health. You'll have to help us with that part, because the drugs could affect thyroid function.
9860206 tn?1406321891 You can try one like sumatriptan that will knock out the migraine but you can't take it more than once in a week or you get rebound migraines. If you haven't been tested for migraine you can have a neurologist test you by having a electroecephalogram or EEG done. This checks the electrical part of the brain. Usually, the brain waves are too high and that gives you the migraine. If you do have migraine and have them often you can try also Topiramate which prevents the migraine from occuring.

1475196 tn?1296309865 I can't wait to get all this brain stuff sorted out. My ringing in my ear is constantly high pitched. Occasionally a low pitch ring will pop in every once in a while and that one pulsates! It's kinda hard to explain. The ringing definitely gets worse when I first get out of bed in the morning or after I've been sitting for a long time and I stand up. I can hear the TV but if you ask me the words to a song then forget it.
Avatar n tn You take it at night and sleep very well but it does make you tired during the day too. Although you get used to it. If they don't bother you then you don't have to take any meds. Are your headaches on one side of the head? I also take Imitrex for the bad headaches and Ibupropin for the lesser ones. Migraines can be for days. My neighbor has them every day and finally found that there were certain triggers for hers.

521502 tn?1212139755 I have a different condition to you but suffer with chronic back and leg pain so can honestly say I understand. I've actually been diagnosed with Chronic Pain Syndrome! Let's get you a plan. Firstly you need a good doctor. I think looking at your meds you are not seeing a PAIN MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST? Th combination is a classic GP medication combo and a bad one. It is not going to help someone with nerve pain at the end of their tether.
Avatar m tn You can also do these while standing, just lift one leg and do it, hold something with your hand so you won’t fall. You should do these even if you don't suffer RLS. They are the best exercises for everyone. If You have a sound sleep tonight, congratulation; If this doesn't help, I’m sorry, I can’t help you, you might need magnesium or iron or whatever. Now the cause. There is no disease involved; it is simply a sign of the degeneration of our feet and legs.

I would have to lie down in total silence. (sensitive to light and sound). Usually, they would last about an hour or two--in which I couldn't do anything. No specific trigger...they might happen as I was sitting calmly never know. Also, I got other TBI symptoms...dizziness, I was irritable...even at minor things.

284078 tn?1282620298 There is absolutely no way to predict who will get this side effect and it can occur even at very low doses. If you are already taking Topamax and you notice any early signs of vision loss or eye pain please see an ophthalmologist immediately.
