Tobradex pediatric use

Common Questions and Answers about Tobradex pediatric use

tobradex

Avatar n tn ve resigned myself to using tobradex w/my opth monitoring IOP levels, and I also use the other treatments. My opth seems okay with tobradex long term, but I wish had the peace of mind of knowing that I had a permanent treatment.
Avatar m tn Back in July of 2012 I was prescribed Tobradex for an eye injury. I have had several eye injuries since then, in total I've been prescribed Tobradex 6 times. Use was for 3-4 days each time and dose lowered over the course of 2-3 days before discontinuing use. In two cases I was also prescribed Pred-Forte which was used for 3 days and slowly lowered before miscounting use. Each time was 6-8 months apart.
Avatar f tn The tobradex is completely out of your system after 6 days. But your symptoms are very disturbing. I would return for another exam or seek a second opinion with another ophthalmologist.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the info. I was told to use the Tobradex drops to help with the pain I am having.
Avatar n tn How long do I have to use this medicine? I am also using a tobradex ointment at bedtime. Can you plesae let me know? Frank.
Avatar n tn Would you recommend an 19 mo. old infant to use Tobradex for a chalazion? We just got a rx but we are not sure this is safe for an infant under two years old. The side effects for long term use mention glaucoma and vision problems? Should I be concerned about this?
Avatar f tn DOn't use tobradex as it has steroids. Most of these bubbles are harmless conjunctival cysts and nothing needs to be done to them.
Avatar n tn Are steroids such as Maxitrol or Tobradex *supposed* to help with eye burning caused by dry eye or can it make your symptoms worse? I'm dealing with allergic conjunctivitis (again!) and dealing with burning eyes. thanks!
Avatar f tn Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again. I again used Tobradex for about 3-4 days.
Avatar n tn If this has happened again and again (your posting didn't mention use of antibiotics topical and oral. Then you should probably see a pediatric ophthalmologist, May need a procedure. One that that can cause a recurrent infection that won't heal is a buried foreign body.
Avatar n tn He put me on flax seed oil, allegra, restasis, sterilid and qtips, moisturizing eyedrops and tobradex. At one point he did tell me to slow down on the tobradex but I couldn't handle having such bloodshot eyes so he's allowed me to continue usage for the past year and a half while monitoring my IOP levels. I decided to try to wean myself off of tobradex again, but despite my bloodshot eyes he said that he didn't think I was experiencing rebound symptoms from the steroids.
Avatar n tn I had an eye infection(eye redness) and my doctor pescribed me Tobradex for 5 days. The eye redness is gone now but I'm having problem now on my right eye Problems are blurred vision ,eye pain upon eye movement and a sensitivity to light. I searched on Google and found in many articles that the eye blurriness is one of the side effects of using Tobradex. My question is there anyone had the same problem of blurry vision? what precautions to take ? Is your eye is now ok?
Avatar m tn I do warm compresses and lid scrubs, but can I use steroids like Tobradex when I fell an attack coming on? Often they seem to be preceded by a stye. I'm suffering through one now and very anxious.
Avatar n tn i had a cataract surgery month ago, but still it doesnt look like its healing well., i noticed a redness of my eye,. it looks to me that its like bleeding from the stitch...my surgeon gave me tobradex., well it does work....it's does stop the bleeding/redness, but when i stop using it. it comes back again!!!....i really dont know whats happening, plese help!!.......
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with GPC 2 months ago and I've been using Tobradex for two months. My Opthamologist says my lids look better, but there is still some allergen there. He told me that I need to stop taking the Tobradex because apparently it's not good to take it for a long period of time. I've stopped taking it and my eyes are back to feeling awful. They didn't feel 100% back to normal on the Tobradex, but it helped!
Avatar f tn Thank you very much dr. O and thank you very much Medhelp! Three days iv been applying tobradex with no change. I was telling myself to just live with it coz its not going away. Then I saw other forums here with similar eye prob as mine, some advised to do cold compresses... so last night i tried to apply cold compress and it was gone like magic!
Avatar m tn Rather than take TOBRADEX eye drops 4 x a day I should use them 3 x a day and use TOBRADEX ointment twice a day. The second doctor feels that the ointment is more effective. He assured me that these medications will not have any adverse effects (other than a few minutes of blurriness after application of the ointment) if used for a few weeks. I have tried to contact my eye specialist in the US however even though I have a Skype number with a local US area code he has not called me back.
Avatar f tn Doctor said everything is the way it should look inside my eye following the surgery and he is not concerned. I am using TobraDex ointment 2x a day. Can you advise why my eye lid is swelling shut?
Avatar f tn / surgeon diagnosed as me as possible glaucoma. The pressure in my eyes was 24.5 . He started me on tobradex ST ( steroid drops) and Timolol Maleate. Then I used thera tears and systane during the day and the night time gel. As of last Friday I was doing fine, then my vision became blurry again and my left eye is like half open. ( looks like a lazy eye) never had it before. He says my inplants look great. yesterday i saw him my right eye had raised pressure to 26.
Avatar f tn My ophthalmologist diagnosed me with viral eye infection and prescribed me TOBRADEX. I used TOBRADEX 3 times a day for the first two days, then 1 time a day for another 3 or 4 days, and then stopped. Week of 3/31/14: My right eye became red and swollen. I went to see a new ophthalmologist and was told that I just had to wait for my body to fight the virus. No medicine was prescribed.
Avatar m tn Right now im taking TOBRAdex, and Hialid, way back dec2011, i had a sore eyes, then i used a MAxritol without consulting a doctor, then my eyes got irritated, then i went to CEBU Dr,Larrazabal, then he gave me hialid & frulon,, then after 5mnths it was okey.. on the last week of August 2012,i felt sometimes a blurred vision, then, i consult again to Dra. Avatar m tn use a special steroid such as vexol, lotemax, FML that is less likely to cause steroid glaucoma, use oral steroids, use non-steroidal inflammatories, use steroid drops and lots of glaucoma medicines. I don't know what fucon is. Must be a non-USA medicine.
Avatar n tn I went to a pharmacy, the guy there gave me tobradex eye drops, i used it for 2 days only, my symptoms immediately disappeared in the second day, however i discontinued using the antibiotic course thinking that it was cleared forever. Now i am having every 2 or 3 weeks an episode of bacterial conjunctivitis, that lasts for 3 to 4 days than disappear, the reason for its reappearance is probably because i constantly rub my eyes.
Avatar n tn I'm getting very worried about using cyclopentolate 1% three times a day for three days and then on the morning of the surgery. My eye will be dilated for over three days. I haven't read about anyone prescribing this and the drug company doesn't have indications for this use. I've put them in three times already and am getting afraid to continue. His office says he does this to reduce inflamation. Is this safe for one's eye?
Avatar n tn My 93 yr. old mom was given Tobradex for an eye infection and has not been the same since. She had no med. hist. other than moderate dementia. After the 1st dose of tobradex, she became difficult to arrouse and because of this, slightly dehydrated. She also had immediate increased difficulty in swallowing. Approx. 3 weeks after dc of ointment, she was in the hospital due to build up of upper resp. fluid.
Avatar f tn doctor says he will check for astigmatism after 40 days. Also she is using vigamox and tobradex... i would like to know what is the usual response for cases like her...and how do the doctors proceed as she cannot tell if she can see or not. Also her eye is as swollen after 8 days of her surgery as it was the next day of her surgery. her doctor says it will take a while to subside. and he will only check for astigmatism after it comes back to its normal shape.
