spiriva

Avatar m tn I take Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) 2.5 mcg/actuation, and Wixela (fluticasone propionate salmeterol inhalation powder) for my COPD. Is there a sequence I should be taking these meds in? Is there a time frame I should use between the two meds?
Avatar f tn If from the lungs, you could be experiencing Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) withdrawal symptoms, depending on what type of lung problem was being treated with the Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder). These symptoms, along with your arms feeling weak and heavy, could all be due to anxiety, but could also be symptoms of more serious disease of the heart or lungs. For that reason, you do need to see your doctor to sort this out.
Avatar n tn This would include a long-acting bronchodilator, such as Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate), Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder) or Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) along with an inhaled steroid. Another potentially helpful, oral medicine is called theophylline. Your doctor may also want to prescribe this. You should have your blood oxygen level checked, in case it is low and you would need supplemental oxygen.
Avatar n tn Atrial septal defect (ASD) is a form of congenital heart defect that enables blood flow between the left and right atria via the interatrial septum. For the most common type of ASD,.doctors can use catheter procedures to close the opening. During the procedure, the doctor inserts a catheter into a vein in the groin and threads it to the heart's septum. The catheter has a tiny umbrella-like device folded up inside it.
Avatar m tn Last year I was hospitalized with Stevens Johnsons Syndrome(SJS), which left me with chronic dry eye and chronic bronchitis although I did not experience any obvious respiratory symptoms. Prior to that I was absolutely healthy and played sports and worked out fairly regularly. After a few months recovering from this, when I started strenuous exercises i.e. running, sprinting, I felt my chest tightening up.
Avatar f tn Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) has a maximum duration of action of about 36 hours. To be safe, you would want to be off the medicine for 48 to 72 hours before the spirometry. It would have been preferable, but not mandatory to do the pulmonary function tests (PFTs) at the time the diagnosis of chronic lung disease was made especially if the diagnosis was unequivocal. The other important question would be, “Why 3 CT scans, presumably of your lungs, in 16 months?
Avatar f tn At my six-monthly checkup at my local hospital here in Spain there was a replacement doctor and since he was young I thought he might be willing to hear why I was not taking spiriva and steroids. He confirmed that a person with severe COPD MUST use these medicines. But - I objected - they do not cure, they’re only supposed to make you feel a little better and have nasty adverse effects.
Avatar f tn The charging document contends that Crawford, who worked at a General Electric manufacturing plant, conspired in designing the device with Feight, who the Albany Times-Union identified as working for an electronics company in Columbia County, N.Y. No actual device was built, the complaint says, but the pair was far along with the design and testing.
Avatar n tn It might. That would likely be really an individual response. If the person being edged has high blood pressure to start with, I'd approach this with care. Do other sexual situations cause a spike in BP? Has he been edged not in a cage? Could his BP be monitored? Does he have other heart problems? This is something I'd discuss with his/your doctor. You don't have to get really specific, but ask about prolonged or intense sexual activity. That should be enough of a description.
Avatar f tn Should my fitbit device sync the information to exercise or do I have to put it in manually?
Avatar m tn For those of us just "reading along" can you define LAA and give just a little more on what a "Watchman Device" is? The device part of the name strongly suggests something worn or implanted.
Avatar m tn Dear doctor, I had a terrifying anxiety inducing situation this morning. I had recently moved to a new cubicle and desk at work, and while organizing the cables under the desk noticed a plastic device with a short needle of some sort. I'm not sure if I pricked myself as the area under my desk was dark and there was a lot of "activity" moving the wires and such, there was a white round blister on my index finger that I discovered afterwards.
Avatar m tn I am paced 24-hours now (though not pacemaker dependant...yet) and I am pretty happy with the device itself, though I still have severe rhythm problems. I have found that the device managers at my clinic are wonderful and whenever I feel "strange" from being paced I call them up and they can look at my EKG through a phone transmission, which saves a lot of time going back and forth. I would highly recommend this for you if you don't already have one (a home monitoring device).

Avatar f tn Meaning below aortic valve, or in the middle or is lower in the ventricular septum. There is also other form a treatment available ie a device is placed in the heart with the help of a catheter and usually the patient goes home in next two days and lives life like any other person of his age. Since I don't know where r u from if its US then they don't use the device in Peri membranous (Below aortic valve) because of occurrence of heart block since it sometimes is very near to AV node.
Avatar f tn We did research and found a HME device called TRACOE ®HUMID ASSIST I, manufactured by Boston Medical, which provides a highly effective respiratory air filtering function for patients with a tracheostoma. We are looking for someone with knowledge of this device that can advise us whether this HME is suitable for our father or if there are better alternatives.
Avatar f tn The doctor keeps telling me that the device is correct and that I need to not bend over and/or not to exert myself, which will force the device free. I am at a loss as to what I should do; continue with the cream and device, seek a third opinion, try surgery. What would you do?
Avatar f tn Hi - I'm sorry you are having problems with the app. It would be really helpful if you also could tap on Settings in the app, then Support, and send us an email. If you could say "yes" when it asks you to send data, we will be able to check things out from our end. If you need more specific instructions for your app on your device, just let us know, as these are general instructions.
Avatar n tn 1. One hospital advised that this could be closed with the device Occluder. Another hospital reviewed the Echo and advised that the opening actually is 30-40mm which is too large to be closed with the device and that erosion could be a problem, and recommended minimally invasive surgery instead of the full open heart. 1. We need to know what is the erosion in these cases. 2. We understand that the device Occluder can cover up to 45mm, provided there is enough rim around the hole.

1590367 tn?1297051666 I have a device also, and the most worrisome equipment, according to the manual, is magnets. I live within walking distance of one of the biggest hydroelectrical Dams in the world, and as long as I do not go on a tour of the Dam, I get along fine. Otherwise, my device could be rendered useless, or it could cause the device to fire for no reason. Also, cell phones are not supposed to be within 12 inches of the device, or the same effect as above may occur.
Avatar m tn It is a nice little device, but I am so confused with the FEV1 readings. They are in the green zone while my peak flow readings are in the mid to low yellow zone. When I first switched, I did compare the peak flow reading of the new device and my old one. They were pretty close, so I know it isn't varriation in the devices. (I am also checking with my old device still just to make sure.) The Piko-1 is probably the best electronic device.
Avatar f tn Is anyone else noticing issues with this app? For example, when I click on a question to read it and then hit back to go back to the list of questions, it takes me pack to a list of posts that are like a month old. It's really annoying because then I have to go back into the group and scroll way down to where I was before. It's almost not worth reading any questions because I spend so much time having to go back into the group and then scroll scroll scroll.

408795 tn?1324935675 This was the first I had heard of any type or airgun device. Of course this device is different as it is for a one injection use period. Man!! I am sooo proud to be an American, but what a big mess, the military created just by not thinking, assuming or whatever the case. That's a true shame and sorry to hear so many got infected, including you. Soldiers must have caught other diseases as well.
