Tiotropium mcg

Common Questions and Answers about Tiotropium mcg

spiriva

Avatar m tn I take Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) 2.5 mcg/actuation, and Wixela (fluticasone propionate salmeterol inhalation powder) for my COPD. Is there a sequence I should be taking these meds in? Is there a time frame I should use between the two meds?
Avatar n tn Yes, there are. Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) is one and Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate) another. Each is a bronchodilator and capable of giving good relief of shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn If from the lungs, you could be experiencing Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) withdrawal symptoms, depending on what type of lung problem was being treated with the Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder). These symptoms, along with your arms feeling weak and heavy, could all be due to anxiety, but could also be symptoms of more serious disease of the heart or lungs. For that reason, you do need to see your doctor to sort this out.
Avatar n tn This would include a long-acting bronchodilator, such as Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate), Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder) or Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) along with an inhaled steroid. Another potentially helpful, oral medicine is called theophylline. Your doctor may also want to prescribe this. You should have your blood oxygen level checked, in case it is low and you would need supplemental oxygen.
Avatar f tn Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) has a maximum duration of action of about 36 hours. To be safe, you would want to be off the medicine for 48 to 72 hours before the spirometry. It would have been preferable, but not mandatory to do the pulmonary function tests (PFTs) at the time the diagnosis of chronic lung disease was made especially if the diagnosis was unequivocal. The other important question would be, “Why 3 CT scans, presumably of your lungs, in 16 months?
Avatar m tn Cause of low DLCO and drop in it from test 1 to test 1? I am currently on tiotropium bromide and salmeterol/fluticasone propionate. My reason for posting this is one doc is pessimistic and the other highly optimistic. Thank you.
Avatar f tn Spiriva contains tiotropium bromide which is an anticholinergic bronchodilator. So, yes, both have action against acetylcholine recptors and both are efefctive bronchodilators. You can take any one of them. Indacaterol is an ultra-long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonist. So, it gives bronchodialation for a much longer time. It is a more recent drug so long term efficacy data are not available. However, available data does show a marked benefit in individuals with COPD.
Avatar f tn I take 88 mcg for my thyroid being underactive. It doesn't seem to be helping even though the last tests showed my levels to be in range. I have gained 32 pounds in one year, despite exercise and healthy eating. I cannot seem to lose weight. I am constantly exhausted and now my voice is so rough and hoarse. I am also always constipated! Does anyone have any suggestions?
Avatar f tn Hi, does anyone know how accurate an mcg test is. I have discomfort in my chest, stomach, upper back and neck....I received 2 EKG, an echocardiogram, 2 sets of bloodwork, was put on a heart, bloodpressure and oxegen monitor, chest xray....all came out normal. I had a stress test today and don't have the results but the dr said she thinks i did well. However, my mcg test scored a 5.8 which is a high score........any advice??
Avatar m tn one grain = 39 mcg of T4 plus 9 mcg of T3. So if you multiple the 9 mcg of T3 by 4 and add the 39 mcg of T4 that would only add to 75 mcg of T4, not 100 mcg. In addition, there is a scientific study that attempted to determine the T4 equivalent of T3. They came to the conclusion that one mcg of T3 was approx. equal to 3.3 mcg of T4. In that case one grain of desiccated would be approximately the equivalent of 69 mcg of T4 (39 mcg of T4 plus 3.3 times 9 mcg of T3 = 68.7 mcg of T4).
3241062 tn?1346895870 I agree, there are lots of opportunities for misunderstanding. I assume that the 65 mg of Erfa must have the same amounts of T3 and T4 as 60 mg of Armour, based on the table, but could not find info to confirm. Another problem I have is that they say that 65 mg of Erfa and 60 mg of desiccated is equivalent to 100 mcg of T4 med, and also equal to 25 mcg of T3. That doesn't follow. If 100 mcg of T4 were the same as 25 mcg of T3, then they are using a 4:1 ratio.

1070570 tn?1283436213 then up to 88 mcg levo, staying with 5 mcg generic cytomel. Am currently on 100 mcg Tirosint and 5 mcg generic cytomel. I take the Tirosint first thing in the morning, per instructions (my day starts 3:30 am). I take my T3 med about 7-7:30 am. This keeps me going through the day, but lets me start winding down so I'm tired and ready for bed about 7:30 pm.
Avatar f tn m on 10 mcg of generic T3 (same as cytomel) and I take a 5 mcg pill in the morning, with my T4 med and another 5 mcg pill around noon. That keeps me going all day.
Avatar f tn I am currently on 15 mcg of liothyronine and 125 mcg of Levothyroxine. The order she sent to the pharmacy is 60mcg NP in the am and 15mcg in pm. I understand from the conversion chart the 125 mcg converts to the 60/15 mcg but that doesn't take into account the additional 15mcg of liothyronine that I was on. The comment made during my appointment was that we need to get my free t3 up but won't the med change lessen my dose of T3?
Avatar f tn Thyroxine is, typically, dosed by mcg. Check your script again. 75 mcg would be the same as 0.75 mg.

I was taking Synthroid 88 mcg for 9 years and about 4 months ago my endo changed it to 75 mcg because my hypo turned into hyper.
Avatar f tn The pharmacist is not authorized to change a medication and prescribe a dosage like that. 300 mcg of Levothyroxine is very high and it would be very rare to start out on such a dosage.
Avatar m tn I am taking levothyroxine 88 mcg for 10 days. I started out taking a half a pill for 8 days. I was lost a total of 5 lbs but since I started taking the whole pill it seems that my weight is staying the same. Is this normal or will I start to lose weight again once my body become adjusted to the new dosage?
Avatar f tn 8 follicular cancer. Turned out surprisingly benign and I started on Mylan Levothyroxin 125 mcg on March 5. Recovering from surgery and on med I have felt great until approx March 17. I have become progressively more depressed, severe cold sweats, headache, achey shoulders and neck, no energy, emotionally fragile, can not seem to get energy to go back to work and very tired. Could this be med adjustment?
Avatar n tn s asking how many 50 mcg pills to take to equal 125 mcg. It would take 2 - 50 mcg pills to make 100 mcg, then another .5 of a 50 mcg pill to make the other 25 mcg.
