Tiotropium long acting

Common Questions and Answers about Tiotropium long acting

Avatar n tn If you have not already stopped smoking cigarettes, you must stop immediately. Then you should begin respiratory medicine for this condition. This would include a long-acting bronchodilator, such as Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate), Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder) or Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) along with an inhaled steroid. Another potentially helpful, oral medicine is called theophylline.
Avatar f tn Indacaterol is an ultra-long-acting beta-adrenoceptor agonist. So, it gives bronchodialation for a much longer time. It is a more recent drug so long term efficacy data are not available. However, available data does show a marked benefit in individuals with COPD. Combination of these two drugs should help you feel much better and improve your lung status. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar m tn I take Spiriva Respimat (tiotropium bromide) 2.5 mcg/actuation, and Wixela (fluticasone propionate salmeterol inhalation powder) for my COPD. Is there a sequence I should be taking these meds in? Is there a time frame I should use between the two meds?
Avatar n tn Yes, there are. Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) is one and Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate) another. Each is a bronchodilator and capable of giving good relief of shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn If from the lungs, you could be experiencing Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder) withdrawal symptoms, depending on what type of lung problem was being treated with the Spiriva® HandiHaler® (tiotropium bromide inhalation powder). These symptoms, along with your arms feeling weak and heavy, could all be due to anxiety, but could also be symptoms of more serious disease of the heart or lungs. For that reason, you do need to see your doctor to sort this out.
Avatar f tn ve decided (and sent an email) to talk to the NP at the pain clinic about switching me over to a long-acting medication for my pain. I'm thinking it will give me better relief. Even though I'm on a high dose now (45 mg. every 4 hours of oxycodone,) my pain seems to return after 2 to 3 hours. And I did have a bad flare-up this weekend; most likely due to the fact I ran low on medication due to my script not coming in the mail. Now it's a question of which medication???
Avatar f tn ordered a pft last week (following three ct scans over 16 months). I had been using Spiriva for three years. My question is how long should I have been off the Spiriva for the test to show accurate results? Shouldn't I have had the test before being given Spiriva? Thanks in advance.
Avatar m tn 6 How would you interpret the results? What do you think the cause of my COPD is? Long term prognosis? Cause of low DLCO and drop in it from test 1 to test 1? I am currently on tiotropium bromide and salmeterol/fluticasone propionate. My reason for posting this is one doc is pessimistic and the other highly optimistic. Thank you.
Avatar f tn BT pain is not a new concept. Of course, I've had pharmacists ask (when reading my Rx), "What is BT pain?" Chronic pain is not taught in medical schools, except as a side. Perhaps we need a new word -- when people see "chronic pain" they probably believe its like the pain of a broken bone, only it lasts longer. I have no idea what kind of education a pharmacy PhD grad receives on the disease state known as chronic pain.
Avatar f tn While many doctors do prescribe a short acting med along with the long acting med, the short acting meds are typically written to be taking AS NEEDED for breakthrough pain (of course, also giving a time frame such as every 6 hours) - the breakthrough meds are not typically written to be taken EVERY day. In fact, the goal of a long acting med is to reduce the need for breakthrough meds. therefore, you may or may not need to take any more narcotic than what is in your long acting med.
656111 tn?1273820739 I was wondering which do you think I am better off to be on short acting med or long acting med? Because when I take short acting percocet which is 10/650 and I am only allowed to take 2 times a day. But when after I take one, I would say within 3 hours then pain comes back slowly then in real pain and I'd have to wait until its other time to take 2nd pill of percocet. I'm just sick of it. So what do I say or bring this issue up to my primary doctor when I see him on Nov. 25th?
Avatar f tn I take 40 units Lantus (long acting), and sliding scale Novolog (fast acting) insulins. My bg is always so high in the mornings, I have to take Novolog and wait for sugar to come down to eat. I've had diabetes for many years, but never knew for sure which one! My dr would switch my diagnosis all the time. But went to endo and they did a blood test, and said I'm type 1. I'm angry my dr. never did anything about this.
601045 tn?1291292518 My son who is three and ahalf has started acting out at daycare. He wont go to sleep at daycare, he has been screaming at his teacher, hitting her and trying to bite her. This is not like him at all. My friend said I might need to look into counceling since he has had a rough past. He is not my son by blood, his daddy and I are married. Him and his little sister came to live with us about a year ago. His biomomma never calls or anything. He hasnt seen or talked to her since March.
Avatar f tn You took it for too long to stop cold turkey. It could go on quite a while. I hate to see anyone go through that! I know all too well how it feels, and it's awful!
Avatar n tn Like mom every weekday dad every weekend. I dont know how long you have been in the picture but I know with my oldest son when his grandmother started watchin him while I worked he was like you said a perfect angel after he got used to going there and getting a routine he acts up with her, before he would never do that. I think his problem is the juggling around. I think once that is stable he will calm down. He will get use to you being around and will settle down.
409943 tn?1202229801 ) very sunny and hot all year long. Thanks a lot for your help. Yes I am very worried because yesterday we went out to another city for the whole day and when we came back at night I found her acting like that, but I decided to wait until today to see how she was reacting but she is acting the same way :( (I thought it could be she feeling sad because she stayed byherself all day long and was sad). I will take her to the vet and let you guys know what happens :) Thanks for your suggestions!!
Avatar f tn I have a 4 1/2 yr old male cat. He is quite a baby...throws up if I leave him for too long, etc. Does not like change at all! It seems that over the last week or so he seems afraid to come into the living room/kitchen area. That is where is food is at. Normally, he would be waiting for me at the door and would run to his food bowl. Now he just sits in the hall and seems afraid. If he does come to eat he takes a few bites then walks real fast back to the back of the house.
1264863 tn?1391118193 My doctor wants to move me from oxycodone that I take pretty much from when I get up till when I go to bed to a long acting medication. I can't take morphine, it doesn't work for me.
Avatar f tn I think something is brewing... He's been acting kind of weird lately. Knowing him it could be anything.. for some reason I feel he might be trying to hide the fact that he may have someone else pregnant.. no real signs just a really strong feeling I have.. what's done in the dark will come to the light eventually. I can't be concerned I have to deliver my baby tomorrow.
Avatar f tn I am taking 15MG of long acting oxys for my knee but when I have to walk it does not help too much and I have to spend the rest of the day with my knee burning and trying just to get it comfortable which is pretty much useless.
Avatar f tn I need to know how long it will take to get over the physical withdrawl of taking 15 percs a day?
