As independent studies started to show a correlation between Vioxx and an increase risk of heart attack and stroke, the NIH funded the VIGOR study I believe in 2001 at the request of the Arthritis Advisory Committee to determine if there was indeed a link. What they discovered was that all NSAIDS increased the risk for heart attack and stroke with Vioxx being the worst.

Symptons are always have been cold, tired, joint and muscle pain worse in fingers, I took Vioxx before it was removed , high blood pressure , tinnitus, completely deaf over 2,500 cycles in both ears. Hearing aids made no difference. Dentist last month couldn't freeze my gums with 2 needles of Carbocaine.

I gave a friend a facial several months ago. I was having difficulty with using the tool to extract his blackheads from his nose so I used my fingers. [Believe me I won't do this again] I don't recall if there was any blood mixed in with his blackheads and whiteheads but it's possible (he's prone to acne, even on his nose). So my question is, was the original assumption about anti inflammatory drugs a result of confusing correlation with causation ie we give someone a anti inflammatory and they have a bleed and we assume it is the anti inflammatory that caused it but the reality is the bleed was already getting ready to happen and by the time we offered the anti inflammatory it was too late and the endothelial layer wasnt/isnt going to respond anyway.

I was given vioxx years ago, read the warnings about heart attacks and such, and threw them all in the trash! Not much later it was pulled from the market. If I lost a loved one, $$ isn't going to bring the back anyway, it's all stupid. If I do myself in, I guess I will come back and haunt the manufacturers....BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........
I've had RA since age 5 and never had a problem with blood pressure until I was prescribed Vioxx, the non-sulpha cousin of Celebrex. My BP popped up and has never gone down by itself even though I went off the Vioxx. I take a daily BP med and my NSAID, which is meloxicam (Mobic) doesn't affect my BP too badly.
What you also have to be careful of is OTC cold and allergy medications. The only one I can safely take is Mucinex, Coricidin, or prescription guaifenisen (sp?).

I was not concerned until I got home and discovered I had a small cut just under one of my nails. I can not recall getting the cut. It was not bleeding but was very sore and looked open although no blood was visible. I was not too worried until 2 weeks after the event I came down with a sore throat, mild fever, very heavy cough. Temperature has been between 36.5 and 37.
However, the lymph nodes on the right side of my groin are still swollen and painful and the pain spreads down my right leg which makes walking a little painful. I am also having some diarrhea and can feel some weight loss in my butt. Was this illness ARS. I was always under the impression that it lasted much longer than a day and a half, 3-14 days to be exact, and the symptoms were either mild or moderate and this was moderate.
I don't know what to think and I am genuinely scared here.
Hi I found Citalopram a very disturbing drug, as soon as I took it I felt like I had been drugged with somethimg, I heard noises and felt very paranoid. I was ok with zoloft though apart from some agitation.
Citalopram is meant to be very good for anxiety and depression but I didn't like it all and my doctor didn't like me on it either.
what to do about a pituitary tumor, that had been overlooked for years and treated as a hypothyroid, though when checking the free t4, it was twice the normal high. High tsh and High free t4. I finally after ten years of being treated with levothyroxine because my tsh was high at times, begain going into a-fib and ending up at er's to be converted. It is now determined that the excessive levothyroxine I'd been taking was triggering it.
My logic tells me nothing I have done could have possibly put me at any risk of HIV whatsoever but my symptoms and subsequent worry have turned me in a nervous wreck thinking what if the lady had a cut on her body when I was rubbing her and the blood got into my cut on finger somehow through the thin material of the dress or stockings, or the same with vaginal fluid.
It is now 3 weeks since my risk and I am looking to have a duo test at your clinic at 4 weeks.

I had a DVT that went through my heart and into my lungs(PE).
A valve was damaged, also one chanber of my heart.
My problem is that I wasn't diagnosed as a "heart attack", but rather a "pulmonary embolism", and the lawyers representing me in my vioxx lawsuit say it has to be a heart attack, not a PE.
Isn't a heart attack part of a PE? Rather, did I suffer a heart attack as well as a pulmonary embolism?
