I was in and out of the hospital nonstop. My ob dr finally told me to try smoking a little bit of weed for the naseua Meaning not to smoke it to get high just to help the sickness. Which thankfully my sickness stopped before I had to try it. But I doubt my dr would tell me to if it was going to cause problems with my pregnancy. I will say it was def not her first choice in telling me.
Why risk something that has been scientifically proven to affect an unborn fetus? Science was a whole lot different for our parent's generation, scientist know so much more about the dangers of smoking than before. I just couldn't see myself taking chances like that knowing as many negative stories about it.
I think its both positive and negative. It teaches the kids the dangers of smoking/second hand smoke and the problems it can cause as well as the result od death. As for the negative, the kids with the smoking patents are now worrying about losing their parent(s) due to the day care. Im an ex smoker myself.
I would ask your doc before you stop I heard that some woman who stop while pregnant have a slight possibility of miscarrying for the added stress and withdraw.
My mother smoked while pregnant with me and my brother. I was born 6 wks early at 3lb, my brother was past his due date and barely weighed in over 5lb. I don't suggest it, I have seen too many negatives of smoking during pregnancy on a childs development.
One cigarette is ok, i quit smoking several years ago and the stress on the body would be worse. My mother in law smoked through all her pregnancies and they were low birth weight but all very smart, healthy people. My mother quit with me and i was born with a hole in my heart, same with my brother she quit cold turkey and he was born not breathing. Whether or not its related, who is to say but most people i know that smoked (they all cut way back) while pregnant had healthy babies.

My child's daycare have been taught that smoking kills people etc.. so move away from people if they're smoking. A lot of parents from the daycare have come in abusing the child care Centre as they're smokers and there young children keep telling them they're going to die.
Well, I can certainly tell you the risks that YOU will have by smoking Hash after you deliver of your baby. The risk of loosing your child, because of your negligence. Your 36yrs old, I'm quite certain you know or can find out the dangers of smoking any toxins while pregnant. Have you seeked help? Is this the environment your poor unborn "high" baby is going to be living. So sad...
As with any surgery there are some risks; (complications occur less than 1% of the time) but if you are sick enough the doctor thinks you should have a PM or ICD implanted, then heed their advice.
Have you looked up PM/ICD surgery risks on the American Heart Association or googled it to see the risks?
Idk if any of these things are solely a result of smoking weed during pregnancy but i do think that smoking weed does effect the baby. Especially during early pregnancy when the babys brain is developing. Smoking weed is no better than smoking cigarettes because when smoking both you're inhaling smoke and like my doctor tells me whatever i experience the baby experience.
Although I personally would not do it because of the possible risks, smoking a small amount of weed during pregnancy isn't super harmful. As long as she's not smoking a ton everyday the baby will probably be fine. I was very young with NY first pregnancy, and smoked occasion aly. My child is perfectly normal and healthy. She is very smart. Still I wouldn't do it again, but there are much worse things she could be doing.
That is CHILD abuse in an awful for. The baby isn't here yet and she's already putting it thru hell. I'm glad you are doing good and not trying to rush your baby out. Maybe you could print some information on the dangers of what she's doing to her baby from the internet? So so sad.
I highly recommend you inform the surgical team of all drugs ingested in the last 24 hours up to the surgery because not having that info means if something does go wrong because of it they want know that and will waste valuable time trying to figure out whats wrong and you die. But if they know whats up they can be prepared or even prevent something gping wrong because you didnt lie. Its your life and i compkeyely understand you Trust me.
you should read all the possible side effects of smoking while pregnant and what it can do to your child. Nausea is something almost all woman experience while pregnant and we just deal with it the doctor recommended ways. Try tums, eat 6 small meals instead of 3 big ones a day, try taking famotidine (pepcid) tablets. Just my opinion though. If you feel it's honestly that bad you should consult your ob and talk to them about smoking and if anything else could help that you are unaware of.
m pretty sure she is well aware of all the above dangers you mentioned of smoking while pregnant. All she said was that she felt it best to take on one addiction at a time. She has tackled the pills and She is waiting for her body to recover before she goes on to tackle the smoking. She clearly said She was working wother her doctor and also that She has cut back.
I should have simply stated WHAT it was, not pontificated about the legality of it. It was almost like I was regressing to my own smoking of it and the BS I told my mom. (thinking of course that it wasn't BS at all, at the time). Sorry if I was misleading in the innocuousness of it. Best of luck with your daughter!
