I think its both positive and negative. It teaches the kids the dangers of smoking/second hand smoke and the problems it can cause as well as the result od death. As for the negative, the kids with the smoking patents are now worrying about losing their parent(s) due to the day care. Im an ex smoker myself.

Hi. I'm just curious in people's opinions of something. I am an ex smoker. No longer have the habit. My child's daycare have been taught that smoking kills people etc.. so move away from people if they're smoking. A lot of parents from the daycare have come in abusing the child care Centre as they're smokers and there young children keep telling them they're going to die.

Funnily enough, you would expect someone my age and who is very cautious of drugs to be more aware of what was inside these things. What I thought was just simply flavored smoke turned out to have Nicotine and other chemicals (found out after some research from CDC and other reliable sources). I really don't know why I didn't put two-and-two together beforehand. Kind of shocked on my end about my rather poor judgement.
This has caused me some anxiety.
My doctor told me no as well but as told me not to quit cold turkey gradually cut back and wean yourself off of them...

I am wondering...is this anything like quitting smoking? I smoked for 23 years, and could not imagine life without my "best friends", my cigarettes. I mean...what would I do when the phone rang, when I got in the car, after I was done eating, when I went out, sat next to the pool, etc etc. I remember thinking how will I EVER ENJOY life again without my cigarettes.

Why risk something that has been scientifically proven to affect an unborn fetus? Science was a whole lot different for our parent's generation, scientist know so much more about the dangers of smoking than before. I just couldn't see myself taking chances like that knowing as many negative stories about it.
Re-reading what I wrote and feel a bit daft! I do agree with everyone else here! I was ignorant myself of the dangers of it, so am more educated now thanks to the good people here. I feel stupid for stating that it's legal.
Alcohol is legal. It almost killed me and TG I haven't had a drink for several years. I wish I could take my post down. I agree that it is something to be more concerned with, and feel like my post was way too blase.
Not only is the action of smoking itself is detrimental to the health of the baby, but we do not know how cannabis intake can affect the developing brain.I understand that smoking is extremely addictive, but there are certain things we do for our kid that are very hard, and one of them is being pregnant, taking care of our bodies while pregnant and nursing (and I am not even talking about giving birth!). My daughter and her BF had a roomate that smoked that stuff. It's not good. Apparently it is herbs with something that they call synthetic THC. A bunch of chemicals. Here in Utah they are making it illegal because it's considered hazerdous. Google "smoking spice dangers" and there is alot of stuff on it. I think it is telling that there is a push in some states to legalize pot, and yet they are banning that stuff right and left.
I was in and out of the hospital nonstop. My ob dr finally told me to try smoking a little bit of weed for the naseua Meaning not to smoke it to get high just to help the sickness. Which thankfully my sickness stopped before I had to try it. But I doubt my dr would tell me to if it was going to cause problems with my pregnancy. I will say it was def not her first choice in telling me.
Could you please tell me the risk of keeping gallstones instead of having surgery to remove them? I am schelduled for surgery on July 8,however, I am scared to death to be under general anethesia. I have had two c-sections and my husband says the risk for a c-section is greater than that of gallbladder removal. Is this true?
