Someone said that Topotecan worked better when combined with thalidomide -- don't know much more about it than that, although when I have chemo again (when the Arimidex doesn't hold my counts steady anymore) they are threatening me with topotecan next.
My question being how come we hear of so many rape victims getting HIV after 1 rape encounter. Is this due to the fact that most rapes are forceful and there would be some wounds in the female (or male) victim? Or is the fact many of the girls are virgins so there is open wounds?
I know this seems like a morbid question but I would just like to know after hearing of some transmissions in Libya.

The only thing I can think of would be nerve ending damage which can happen while having treatment. Ask your doctor about that. I had it and it is not nice.

Prurigo nodularis is very hard to treat, but current therapies include steroids, vitamins, cryosurgery, thalidomide and UVB light. In the event that staphylococcus or other infection is present, antibiotics have proven effective.
A physician may administer a strong dose of prednisone, which will almost immediately stop the itch/scratch cycle. However, cessation of steroids allows relapse to occur, usually within a few weeks.
I have been treated with several meds, including, but not limited to Iodine drops, Thalidomide, Prednisone, and topical steroids. I am now on 10 mg of Prednisone. I have been on that dosage for 6 years now, and the medication is not treating my body very nicely with weakened joints that ache, bad bruising on my arms and legs, weight gain, and a host of other problems that go with the steroid use. One of the best things for the E/N is the application of a topical steroid, Lydex cream.
The majority of women have been exceptional people who are and will always be dear friends. But victims usually are victims because they are attracted to a trai that seems familiar to them and unless they are careful each time a woman seems familiar its because they match what their abuser was like. Women do the same thing.
Your comment though was out of line and I could not imagine saying that you deserved rape or abuse which is what you essentially have just said about me and other victims.

I agree with his3707, there is much, much more to this. Someone saying "It's not my responsibility" seems to be at the bottom of this mess. There should be others held accountable for this.
