What you have read is correct. You could discuss this finding with your doctor and get him to prescribe it for you. Since the treatment is long-term it is better to go with onr which is tolerated better by the body.
I can understand your concern for these symptoms and from the description of your symptoms and the positive response to oral antifungals, it looks like the etiology is fungal in nature. It is less likely to be eczema which responds to oral steroids.
In new eczema, the affected skin appears red and elevated with small blisters which break and the affected skin will weep and ooze. In older eczema, chronic eczema, the blisters are less prominent and the skin is thickened, elevated, and scaling.

My husband and I going through the exact same thing. I've had about 20ish spots all over my body, that seems to fade but not entirely go away (For a month and a week, going on two weeks) Although I started Oral Meds late, I'm on day 6 of Terbinafine. I've been taking it day by day. Who would have thought Ringworm would suck so bad :(. We ended up getting it from 2 rescue kittens. They seem to kind of fade, but I can still see them.
after i shower at the end of eery night symptoms will start clearing up and will return by the following night....the area between my inner thigh/ groin area to the side of my testicles will start to get sweaty, smelly and start to create a redness/ rash. i dont hve medical to afford a doctor...just trying to fnd out what this maybe or may be caused by...
i have gone to a dertermologist and they have said it was a fungus growing on my arm and put me on Terbinafine. well i have been on this for almost two months and have seen no improvement and it is still getting worse. i kind of think it is ring worm but i have been putting lamisil on it but that has not helped either. i am going to a new doctor about it soon but i would like opinions on it.
Ive had 2 biopsy not cancer. Dr thinking fungus . I was on antibiotics and am currently taking Terbinafine 250mg and Ketoconazole 200mg pill and cream and wash . I recently had a tooth pulled and gum filled with puss. maybe that was hindering my healing. so frustrated and worried.

While they are going down with OTC creams and Natural Remedies (Apple Cider Vinegar + Tea tree oil) I ended up going on Terbinafine because it seems like these things are at a standstill.
So I have a few questions:
***Skin that isn't even affected by ringworm is VERY ITCHY. Is this normal?
***I've never had a more serious case of ringworm before. Is it ok to be putting lotion on my skin now?
***Skin that wasn't affected by any lesions is peeling off. Again is this normal?
I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.
I have been suffering for a long while with a lot of different symptoms. The major one is the mucus which is clear and I have to spit it up for about half an hour when I awake and then periodically throughout the day. I've tried several sinus medication and the neti pot with only temporary relief. Also suffering from chronic constipation and have low blood pressure. Feeling dizziness and weak and fatigue. Also have tingling sensations through extremities and on face.

Immediately I started applying Lamisil (terbinafine) every morning till today. All the redness and everything else is gone, but if I look at the skin from the side, I can still see the "circles" (in slightly different skin tone) where the fungi was located... does it mean that I'll have to keep on applying the cream for longer till I don't see those circles?
