What you have read is correct. You could discuss this finding with your doctor and get him to prescribe it for you. Since the treatment is long-term it is better to go with onr which is tolerated better by the body.

Topical Terbinafine cream did not help doctor is treating with Ketoconazole 2% shampoo and topical Clindamycin 1%. I may be noticing a 10% increase in my normal gray follicles at two weeks treatment. I would love to send a picture.
Immediately I started applying Lamisil (terbinafine) every morning till today. All the redness and everything else is gone, but if I look at the skin from the side, I can still see the "circles" (in slightly different skin tone) where the fungi was located... does it mean that I'll have to keep on applying the cream for longer till I don't see those circles?
I went to my doctor earlier this week and was prescribed terbinafine for a possible yeast infection, and cipro for a potential UTI. After 4 days of both, I’m still not feeling any much relief. Is it possible that I’m on a wrong antibiotic? Trying to self medicate, I’m reading that doxycycline might be more appropriate? My doctor won’t refer me to a urologist because my recent UA came back clean, so I’m wondering how long I wait before caving in and going to urgent care?
You may have to use the Ketoconazole shampoo for a long time ( such as 6 weeks for it to work). Some fungi are resistant to it so you may want to try Terbinafine shampoo or pills. But I would read some of the posts below. They may be helpful.

The rash did go away for a little while but came back even before I had finished the full treatment of terbinafine (I did in fact go ahead and finish the full 10 days). I went back to the doctor for a follow up and she wanted to take a biopsy which may in fact leave a scar (which I really do not want). She also suggested that this may be a reaction from the use of the steroids. She gave me a metronidazole cream which is an antibiotic and Elidel which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory.

i have gone to a dertermologist and they have said it was a fungus growing on my arm and put me on Terbinafine. well i have been on this for almost two months and have seen no improvement and it is still getting worse. i kind of think it is ring worm but i have been putting lamisil on it but that has not helped either. i am going to a new doctor about it soon but i would like opinions on it.

I have been on birth control (same brand) for 4 years and I had noticed that my external vaginal area would be itchy periodically. That started about 2 years ago and I found that taking a yeast infection treatment didn't help so I assumed it was a natural side effect of BC. In the past few months the problem has worsened and the inner labia down to perineum and anus are now constantly red and more frequently itchy.

on my penish skin and near the area i have itching problem from 4 month ,i went to 3 dermatologist they suggested(1st dermatologist adv terbinafine,onabet b,2nd dermatologist adv terbinafine,cetirizine,sertaconazole cream 2% and the 3rd dermatologist adv ebernet,tebif,covel.i used the medicine i found all the area are clear ,i was fine but after 10 days again i got same problem,now what to do ,i am getting red after scrating.

The red rash has faded to practically clear,no itching at all. It's inexpensive and has taken only about two weeks to this point. It may work in your case as well.

face, arms, back. My dermatologist gave me Lamisil cream with oral terbinafine during 2 weeks. My rash has almost disappeared. It came back 1 month after taking terbinafine. I have done a mycological examination 1 month after taking terbinafine but it was negative. Also, oral griseofulvin during 3 weeks didn't work. My rash was spreading all over my body (70%). The physicians sayed it was eczema. The gave me diprosone and oral cortisone.

Treatment for both is entirely different.I feel that you should consult a dermatologist and get it assessed so that specific treatment(antifungals or corticosteroids) can be started.

I have uploaded an image. I have been on an antifungal treatment for two months, but it was of noo benefit. Any help would be appreciated.
Can anyone please help me learn what this medicine would have been? The fungus has returned years later, and I would like to repeat this treatment rather than the one that requires taking meds daily for 3 months.
