It would come and go randomly without treatment. About a year ago I had some seborrheic dermatitis around my nose and the derm prescribed me Ertaczo (an anti-fungal). That cleared up the rash right away. I went to my primary physician and showed him the rash on my chin mentioning that it looked similar to the rash I originally had around my nose. By this time, the rash had cleared up on the right side of my chin and had jumped over to the left side.
It sounds like seborrheic dermatitis, which is an inflammatory version of dandruff. I have it in my eyebrows -- it's white and flaky, with no redness until recently, and it started off in one part of one eyebrow, and then it spread. Now recently it has spread to my entire eyebrow. I've tried a lot of things. Using Nizoral shampoo once a day seems to help a little. I also take the following supplements: evening primrose oil, multivitamins, cod liver oil, and sometimes, probiotics.
Hair loss is due to scalp conditions like tinea capitis, discoid lupus and seborrheic dermatitis. You may need oral antifungals or antibiotics for this. Treating the underlying scalp condition will help revert the hair loss.
I was diagnosed by my dermatologist as having Seborrheic Dermatitis however all medications that I have tried have not been working so my doctor has precribed quite a strong medication called Azapress (a generic medication for Imuran). Thus, my questions are as follows:
1. Will this disease ever go away?
2. What is the success rate for this medication to deal with Seborrheic Dermatitis and what are other options?

So my derm diagnosed me with seborrheic dermatitis, they gave me all sorts of shampoos to try but none work. I've had this for months now, and finally after expermimenting with different diets i found that food was not causing it. The seborrheic dermatitis that is all over my hair is also all over my face and now spreading to the back of my ears and side of my neck. I finally concluded the reason why i get it. It seems everytime i was my hair even if i use just water i get a flair up.
I was told by my dermo that I had Seborrheic dermatitis. It was dry itchy and scaly under my beard, in the nose folds, ears and eyebrows. I was given desonate gel to use for 2 weeks and things calmed down. However now I just have a redness itchy forehead. I put moisture cream o it and it doesnt really help. Is this still donsidered Seborrheic dermatitis? And would the desonate gel still be the right rx to use?

I developed seborrheic dermatitis on my face that is mild and controlled by creams a couple of weeks after a sexual encounter with a woman of unknown hiv status. It is now several years later and SD is still with me off and on and I never had it before the encounter and I am experiencing no other symptoms. It can be due to seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky,dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. Topical antifungals and mild steroids are the usual treatment and combination of the two can be used to treat stubborn patches. Oral antifungal drugs and immunomodulators such as tacrolimus and pimecrolimus are used in very severe cases.
if someone has seborrheic dermatitis patches around the lips and chin, does it means he has HIV, or is seborrheic dermatitis a common skin condition that affect many people.

Since seborrheic dermatitis is caused by overgrowth of fungus, so any dietary changes or herbal remedies is not going to help. You can however try the above mentioned treatment once the weaning starts, Till then please keep your skin well hydrated and moisturized .

Last four year i consulted many doctors (Skin specialists). But no one indicated clearly that the problem name is Seborrheic Dermatitis. Just now i find the problem.

Can you pls suggest some shampoo's and lotions for this problem? If no, Please suggest me some good doctors in mumbai. I dont know any hospitals in mumbai. I am new to mumbai. I dont want to get treatment to unknown doctors. because my problem is severe.

Initially, diagnosed with Contact dermatitis. Then other dermatologists say Seborrheic. Is there anything out there to lighten up scarring on especially the face from the effects of Seborrheic Dermatitis naturally? If not, over the counter. After different meds from different dermatologists . Finally on one that is currently helping, for now, but face is scarred from where the bumps were appearing. Never had blemishes on face like this. Any suggestions to ask my dermatologist?
Hi, I am male 36yrs old. I have had Seborrheic Dermatitis for 15yrs. I have it on my face, head, back, ears and chest. The worse area affected is my face, around my nose. I have used Steroid cream, herbal medicine, aloe vera plant and antibiotics. At present I am using Aveeno Cream and Steroid Cream 0.05%. My skin has not been clear for the last 6mths. I am also on anti-depressants as I suffer from depression due to my skin condition. Is there any advice that you can give me.
