I will be picking up an antifungal ointment asap. As for the Terbinafine, it seems to be working wonders. A lot of symptoms seem to have drifted away and I'm now left with just a few things that I need to resolve. Most important is the brain fog...I can actually think now. Cravings for sugar...GONE! This is magor for me.
As far as I can tell. The mucus is coming from the sinuses. I had a sinus xray last month which came back negative for infection.
Topical Terbinafine cream did not help doctor is treating with Ketoconazole 2% shampoo and topical Clindamycin 1%. I may be noticing a 10% increase in my normal gray follicles at two weeks treatment. I would love to send a picture.
There is moderate itchiness which is a bit annoying, especially at night, but nothing intense. The redness is not well demarcated and the skin is not raised. There seems to be a slight odor. The skin is also sticky. The redness and itchiness is persistent since 3 weeks without much change for better or for worse. I've tried general creams etc. since I thought it might be dryness but that hasn't helped. There's nothing on the left groin or scrotum.
My dermatologist prescribed ketoconazole which help only for a few hours after washing but then the smell returns. I had to stop working because of this and oftentimes do not want to leave my house because the reaction I get because of the smell. I also believe this is also contagious infection another thing my scalp is also very tender at time.
m hoping to see the doctor again soon. I read on the internet that Fluconazole is not the most effective medication, and oral Lamisil is better. Is this true? Should I ask for Lamisil when I see the doctor?
I'm worried that what I have is not ringworm at all, but then again, it did respond somewhat to the Fluconazole.
I went to my doctor earlier this week and was prescribed terbinafine for a possible yeast infection, and cipro for a potential UTI. After 4 days of both, I’m still not feeling any much relief. Is it possible that I’m on a wrong antibiotic? Trying to self medicate, I’m reading that doxycycline might be more appropriate? My doctor won’t refer me to a urologist because my recent UA came back clean, so I’m wondering how long I wait before caving in and going to urgent care?
Ive had 2 biopsy not cancer. Dr thinking fungus . I was on antibiotics and am currently taking Terbinafine 250mg and Ketoconazole 200mg pill and cream and wash . I recently had a tooth pulled and gum filled with puss. maybe that was hindering my healing. so frustrated and worried.
Peeling skin often indicates a fungal infection. It could also indicate eczema, or an allergic reaction. The only way to know for sure is to see a doctor.
My advice would be to stop self-treating - you've tried for months and it's not working, so let a professional try now.

The main findings were that for reduced fungus, terbinafine was found to be significantly better than itraconazole and griseofulvin, and terbinafine was better tolerated than itraconazole.

What you have read is correct. You could discuss this finding with your doctor and get him to prescribe it for you. Since the treatment is long-term it is better to go with onr which is tolerated better by the body.
I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
Is it a white film that you can rub off? If so it could be yeast? You could try Terbinafine cream or spray. The other ones yeast are sometimes resistant to. Otherwise, I'm not sure what it is. That is the only thing it sounds like. Usually, yeast itches or itches and burns.
s for it I bought in the store. Well they seemed to be working and I got rid of the thing but not in 4 weeks it took almost 3 months, in the mean time I had grown a second patch that was near my toe all on my foot. The first was small about size of a quarter the new one started smaller. Each time I got a new one small spread fast to larger or longer. So I saw two more little ones I also was treating same time twice a day.
I also use a hairdryer, do not share towels with anyone, and have used Lamisil (Terbinafine) for 2 weeks as of today. I change my underwear once per day though, but I avoid sweating or walking much during the day as much as possible. And apply talcum powder on my groin every 2-3 hs during the day. That's all I've been doing and as I wrote, the skin at first sight looks back to normal, BUT if I see it from an angle, I can still see the circles where the jock itch used to be........
Keep the area dry and after washing also dry thoroughly by pat drying, not rubbing. Also wear cotton underwear and change them twice a day and do not share other people’s towels.
Try any of the over the counter products which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine,ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. If the symptoms are severe then oral antifungals may be needed.
The rash behind my neck tends to be itchy now and then but not much at all. I noticed that this is under folds. I try to shower 2 times a day and keep my hygien clean as can. I went to the derm and they gave me Minocycline but nothing seems to be working. My derm., says she doesnt have much experience in my situation, so I left with no answer. Pls., help me out...I need answers as I would like it to go away.
