I've been having on and off itch problem in my scrutum. I tried most jock itch over the counter medication but they only provide temporary relief. I noticed that when I sweat in my groin area, the itch worsens. The itch is so discomforting. I tried scabies treatment also, but no effect. Natural Tea Tree oil don't seem to cure it. Please help.

Hi doctor,i got this jock itch last year, first i tried tropical oitment like clotrimazole and miconazole but dint help. Then a doctor friend of mine suggested me fluconazole tabs once a week, after taking and applying oitment, it was cured but again came back after 10 days. Then i tried itraconazole 200mg a day for a month as suggested by another friend. It cured my itch but again came back after 10 days .
I have a bearable scrotal itch on my left side, there's no flaking skin, bleeding, puss, bruising, soreness, or any noticeable bumps. The skin just feels somewhat leathery and rough.
Is that jock itch/fungal? It hasn't spread elsewhere, just only the left side of the scrotum. I think i've had it just under a month. It's bearable but I am concerned. I have a serious history of eczema but it has been a long while and wasn't aware that it affects "down there".

how long does a jock itch last for? Its been itchy around the pubic area and scrotum. At first i thought it was herpes. I went to four doctors and said it wasnt and then i went to the dermatologist and he took a little glass and just put it on my pubic hair area and took it to check it out and it was a fungal infection cause i also have follicities. i dont know how to spell it. I was prescribed a cream and two prescription pills. How does this infection take to go away?
I have had an issue when a fungal infection in my groin (jock itch) for a little over a month now. I know for certain that is a fungal infection I have seen a doctor about it a few times, and have ruled out the possibility of it being an STD through tests as well (urine and blood). At any rate, I know that jock itch can be a tricky thing to get rid of for some because of people's different sweating patterns, and I for one sweat all the time in the groin region.
Though it is called jock itch, it may not itch always. Usually a reddish rash or area of darkened or tanned skin appears on penis/scrotum/groin fold/adjacent thighs. This is often accompanied by a burning or tingling sensation.
Also the diagnosis of jock itch appears to be correct since the sensation responded to application of an antifungal and the rash has dried up and is becoming scaly. The treatment may take about 4-5 weeks to produce complete results.
Is there an odor associated with Jock Itch? I have what seems like a yeast-like odor that is not strong, but noticable, and I haven't read anything relating this to Jock Itch.
Also...I understand the fungus Tinea Cruris is the cause, but what does it do to the skin to cause it to itch so badly? Poison Ivy was not as bad as this, and I am curious why this stuff is so itchy.

Anyway, if you are sure that the guy has jock itch and not an STD, you could assume that the guy gave you a fungal infection that is getting in the way of the tear healing completely. Jock itch is a tinea fungus. Here is from another website about jock itch and its cousins:
