My ALT has doubled in the last 6 months and my ALP has risen 20 points. I was taking Terbinafine and my dosage was one pill a day for 7 days each quarter. So a week in Nov, Feb, Mar, and finished in Aug 2017. Then my blood work was in Oct 2017. I can't seem to get anyone to tell me what I need to do - if anything. I know worry is unproductive - but that is all I can do right now.
They may do a blood test to check your liver enzymes. So you need oral Griseofulvin or Terbinafine pills (Lamisil). So I would see another dermatologist as that one doesn't seem to be up to date. They can do a culture and see what type it is and confirm that it is a fungus too. They can also add the shampoo. You may also have a secondary infection with a bacteria that may be causing the smell. So you may need an antibiotic in addition to the anti-fungal treatment to get rid of this.
The only medication I am on is generic Lamisil (Terbinafine) 200 mg for a nail fungus. Liver panel came back fine, so will continue on it for the three month duration ending mid-December.
It started of by the small toe nail and spreading to every toe. I saw my GP and was put on Terbinafine and it stopped spreading but my toes remained black. I stopped taking the drugs because it could harm my liver function and I cannot be taking the drug all my life. The discolouring is spreading to other toes, it is embarrassing. What else can i do or use. I have noticed people living in malaysia having discoloured toenails (black), but they seem to except it and not embarrassed by it.

If the rash persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist. Other possibilities have to be ruled out then.

Painkillers and sleeping tablets will not cause Cirrhosis of the liver. Other medications like certain anti-fungals can. Certain medications can cause further harm if you already have some form of liver disease.

I realise that the cause of SD is due to low immune system in our body and mainly related to the liver. So if you keep taking the....nazoles, its going to be difficult to solve your problem as the root of the cos is due to the weak liver. If the symptoms persist then please get an evaluation done from a dermatologist. You may need oral antifungals.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.
The main findings were that for reduced fungus, terbinafine was found to be significantly better than itraconazole and griseofulvin, and terbinafine was better tolerated than itraconazole.

What you have read is correct. You could discuss this finding with your doctor and get him to prescribe it for you. Since the treatment is long-term it is better to go with onr which is tolerated better by the body.

i had red, itchy, swell penis forehead last year & i gone to doctor and he tested me for HIV 1&2 antibodies, VDRL, HERPES simplex virus 1&2 IGG-IGM & TSH and all test came normal (negative). Then my doc told me that it is candidal balanoposthitis & he gave me fusidic acid cream with terbinafine cream and some tablets for infection & infection cured 70% but itching never gone.
The terbinafine worked better than flucka, my groin infection stopped spreading and the skin started to feel normal again.Penis and scrotum got better too.I was also using a clotrimazole,neomycin,clobetasol combo topical cream.
But,whenever my groin becomes even mildly sweaty,I get a flaring infection the next morning, despite 3.5 weeks of terbinafine.
Have you any thoughts on how long after stopping taking Terbinafine and you would expect the side effects would start to ease off?

I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???

Then I went for a check up and the doctor prescribed me itraconazole 100 mg and terbinafine 250 mg oral solution and Luliconazole cream. Infection was cured completely. But now again it has appeared on my body. Specifically on my neck. I am having the same oral solution and using Clotrimazole topical cream. But it's not effective like before. Instead of being cured it's spreading. I am also using ketoconazole soap for bathing.

untill this year when i noticed that they started to spread all over my body and not just on my abs. I have done alot of reading on it. And about how it is a yeast and what not. But i have yet to get any real answer to how i can treat this. I can not go to a dermatologist due to i have no health care and i in college and i cant have another bill as is. So i am looking at trying the Selsun blue maximum or the tinactin foot spray. I have read that the contents in those two are good to try.
No rashes, no pain, no rednes my scrotum looks normal, I went to several doc they prescribe antifungal like gentaline c cream, sonadem cream, muconazole cream and tab, terbinafine cream and tab. But problem comeback after 2 or 3 weeks of treatment.
Immediately I started applying Lamisil (terbinafine) every morning till today. All the redness and everything else is gone, but if I look at the skin from the side, I can still see the "circles" (in slightly different skin tone) where the fungi was located... does it mean that I'll have to keep on applying the cream for longer till I don't see those circles?
