I have developed an acne like rash along the right side of my face and have deduced that it was from sleeping on my ex's chest. After months of non-contact it has not lessened. It is reddish and there are only several spots that are raised bumps, most are just discolored. It sometimes itches and acne washes, etc. just seem to dry out my skin. Several esthiticians have said that it could be a bacterial infection or fungus.
So, frustrated and distressed, back I went to the dermatologist. This time, she gave me an oral antifungal called terbinafine and also gave me desonate gel, another corticosteroid. She said if it is fungal, the terbinafine should clear it up right away since it's a rather small rash. She also said that if it's contact dermatitis, the desonate gel would clear it up. So, I went on with her directions and took the terbinafine for 10 days and used the desonate for 14 days.
and I have these weird skin growing on my neck, belly, and chest. There is no acne and it does not itch. The skin feels a bit dry espicially on my neck and belly. On my chest, the skin has little dots on it. Again, there is no acne. The color of the dots are dark tan. There is no redness, only spots of darker skin on m body. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have been taking tablets for acne on my back. im now taking tablets that make my skin very dry and lately ive just got what i thought was smegma and then i noticed what looks like a blood shot on my penis and then on the opening of my penis it is really red and itchy, any help appriciated!
I'm bi-racial (black & white) & on my back are these dark colored spots, i have a caramel brown complexion with these dark brown spots on my back & a few on my chest the ones on my chest i thought were just acne scars but i'm not sure, i'm so embarrassed to have my shirt off & just wish they were gone, Is there any way to rid of them, like a successful cream or lotion??
miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine,ketaconazole and clotrimazole.You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral.
If still the symptoms do not improve then please get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist.

Ringworm, an infection of the outer layer of the scalp and in the hair. It usually causes a rash made up of circular patches with raised, red edges that resemble worms. The rash spreads from these edges, often leaving the center clear, giving it a ring shape.
If this is being caused by heat and being outside I would avoid using strides pads. For one those are designed from clearing up acne not rashes. The pads because of their purpose dry the skin and remove oils, harmful to complexion but good for healthy skin.
So your putting aloe on to sooth and alcohol and other chemicals which dry so its little wonder your skin is agitated. Try using hydrocortisone instead. this will help with the itching and will not dry out the skin.
Should I use that cream on them? I also have Lupin 203 (Cefuroxme 250MG) (antibiotic...?) for my acne.. which i rarely have now. What should I do?
I need help. They red dots don't itch much and are not in clusters they are just spread all around, PLEASE HELP ME find out what going on though because it is a bit annoying.

Heck yes it can be ringworm. Ringworm can cause folliculitis and present like this, especially early stages of it, or certain strains.
Try applying an OTC anti-fungal ointment on the boils (clotrimazole `% twice daily or terbinafine once daily). If it's ringworm, you will see marked improvement after 1-2 days. You should keep applying the cream for the full treatment period though to make sure all the spores are gone. Run all clothes and bedlinens through a HOT dryer.
The main findings were that for reduced fungus, terbinafine was found to be significantly better than itraconazole and griseofulvin, and terbinafine was better tolerated than itraconazole.

What you have read is correct. You could discuss this finding with your doctor and get him to prescribe it for you. Since the treatment is long-term it is better to go with onr which is tolerated better by the body.
Ive had 2 biopsy not cancer. Dr thinking fungus . I was on antibiotics and am currently taking Terbinafine 250mg and Ketoconazole 200mg pill and cream and wash . I recently had a tooth pulled and gum filled with puss. maybe that was hindering my healing. so frustrated and worried.
I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
It sounds like a yeast or a dermatophyte fungus. Or it could be lice? Do you see anything like that? The nits are about 1 mm in size and are usually attached to the pubic hair. If you have this you would have to get a treatment for them.
Fungi like to grow in moist areas. Have you tried the fungal creams? Most of them are made with fluconazole. If that didn't work you should get tested. If these didn't work some yeast are resistant to it. You can try Terbinafine (Lamisil) cream.
and do not share other people’s towels.Application of local antifungal cream(terbinafine, clotrimazole, econazole, ketoconazole, miconazole) and oral antifungal drugs are the mainstay of treatment.
If the rash persists then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.Contact dermatitis and eczema have to be ruled out then.

FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.

I have problem with my scalp, it started a 4 months ago. I have acne all over my scalp, maybe around 5 to 6 of them at any time. Its itchy, red skin, inflammation around the area for a few days until i apply ketoconozole cream. I hav tried taking kotoconazole tablet (400mg /day) and fluconozole on a weekly basis. I try going to a hot spring (natural) which believe to have to cure. so far Its getting better but i still feel something on my scalp, which is not normal.

Immediately I started applying Lamisil (terbinafine) every morning till today. All the redness and everything else is gone, but if I look at the skin from the side, I can still see the "circles" (in slightly different skin tone) where the fungi was located... does it mean that I'll have to keep on applying the cream for longer till I don't see those circles?
Topical Terbinafine cream did not help doctor is treating with Ketoconazole 2% shampoo and topical Clindamycin 1%. I may be noticing a 10% increase in my normal gray follicles at two weeks treatment. I would love to send a picture.
