We know the tumor is in a slightly different area than it was originally. He is in treatment (Temodar for the second time) for the third recurrence of his tumor. We have always been told it is in an area where surgery has not been an option. The oncologist does say he believes it is a higher grade. We think he believes it is glioblastoma but he won't say that definitely without doing another biopsy.
Is it appropriate to give cycle 2 R-CHOP without Neulasta support if nadir ANC was 500 on cycle 1?
I believe remission is classified as anywhere in the normal <35 range. However, there was a study that came out of the UK, that found that those who managed to achieve values <10 had a better chance of long term remission -- 2436 days. Those whose nadir was 11-20 had about 186 days, while the 20-35 nadir group averaged remission of 90 days.
A month ago my husband (41) had a tumor resection of a GBM in the left temporal/frontal lobe. He is still recovering from surgery and has begun cancer treatment (temodar& radiation) a week ago. He has a previous accident injury where he has struggled with neck pain for ten years. He has been on suboxone for probably 7 years now. He is currently taking his suboxone but is not getting any relief for his head pain.
I had a nadir of 72%. I was diagnosed with central and obstructive sleep apnea and am compliant with my BiPAP machine and O2 concentrator w/ 2 liters of O2. What are the possible effects of 60 - 90 minutes of low blood oxygen? Is this dangerous? Why would my blood oxygen level drop despite using BiPAP and O2?

Patient made decision to treat his anaplastic astrocytoma with surgery and Temodar only. No radiation! What is the prognosis for this 33 yr.old male.
Since the diagnosis of Glioblastoma grade 4 in August, my husband has had the tumor removed and completed the round of radiation and chemotherapy - temodar. Recently I have noticed him being very short fused and argumentative. The slightest thing sets him off as if he had been personally attack. I have also noticed depression setting in. I'm assuming this is all part of the treatment and diagnosis.
One thing I can tell you is beware of certain chemos, like temodar , it can cause lukemia in people with NF, and radiation is also a no go for people with NF. Good luck.
m 3 years post OC Stage 3C treatment (surgery/18 weeks dose dense chemo) and my CA125 is rising (consistently over past year, small increments), just now hitting 47 (was 2056 at diagnosis, nadir of 10 after surgery/treatment). My CA 19-9 is also high at 89. Recent CT shows small spot on liver - but nothing conclusive so I'm on Watch and Wait (purgatory for cancer patients).
Arousal Index (apnea + hypopnea only, all others zero) 2.46/hr, Sleep efficiency 60.8%, 87% nadir value O2, mean 94%. I am not severely overweight (neck 14.5") and my jaw is average size. I watched your UARS 'video' and yes to most all of the symptoms. Since age two, saw an EENT, allergies year round, twenty years on antidepressants, RN Mom thinks I have a form of Narcolepsy, PCP says I always have post nasal drip, which she has never encountered before.
(Larger doses will be available for comparison by AASLD in Nov) The chart that was part of the presentation show accelerated HBsAG decline after dose 3 which seems to demonstrate we have not seen the nadir yet. They also have a cohort where they are trialing weekly dose to see if they can drive HBsAG down quicker. Phase 2b will use combinations with new drugs from JNJ and Springbank to multiple protein targets simultaneously.
