We know the tumor is in a slightly different area than it was originally. He is in treatment (Temodar for the second time) for the third recurrence of his tumor. We have always been told it is in an area where surgery has not been an option. The oncologist does say he believes it is a higher grade. We think he believes it is glioblastoma but he won't say that definitely without doing another biopsy.
I think that there needs to be a discussion about patients not recieving fair medical treatment because they are involved in litigation brought about by personal injury. Not all personal injury patients are involved in litigation because they are looking for some easy monetary gain. Some of us have suffered many losses,( JOBS, HOMES, CARS, GOOD CREDIT RATINGS, RELATIONSHIP OR FAMILY ISSUES, DEPRESSION, LOSS OF CONSORTIUM) due to injuries that has kept us from being able to return to work.
Is anyone considering tubal ligation or IUD? This is my second high risk pregnancy and I'm sensitive to hormones, so I'm considering a non hormonal IUD or tubal litigation after delivery.
A month ago my husband (41) had a tumor resection of a GBM in the left temporal/frontal lobe. He is still recovering from surgery and has begun cancer treatment (temodar& radiation) a week ago. He has a previous accident injury where he has struggled with neck pain for ten years. He has been on suboxone for probably 7 years now. He is currently taking his suboxone but is not getting any relief for his head pain.

My horror story involves a time when I was minding my own business and brutally assaulted without provocation by several individuals. One wrapped his arms around me while the other worked me over. Approximately 10% of veins that are used in cardiac bypass fail the first year, and 10% fail every year from time of the surgery. No one knows why they fail, but they do.
I doubt your doctor is afraid of litigation as vessel failure is a documented fact. He/she is trying drug therapy to develop what are called collateral arteries, which are tiny vessels that can and do enlarge to take the place of the occluded artery in many if not most cases.
Extremes of defense medicine avoiding chance of litigation. Subjecting somebody to unnecessary anxiety for normal things because in other situations it can be abnormal... God bless America.
Patient made decision to treat his anaplastic astrocytoma with surgery and Temodar only. No radiation! What is the prognosis for this 33 yr.old male.
Since the diagnosis of Glioblastoma grade 4 in August, my husband has had the tumor removed and completed the round of radiation and chemotherapy - temodar. Recently I have noticed him being very short fused and argumentative. The slightest thing sets him off as if he had been personally attack. I have also noticed depression setting in. I'm assuming this is all part of the treatment and diagnosis.

The window period guideline for oral tests in the USA is 3 months. The 6 month with Home Access is probably more for litigation.
There is a black box warning on the medication package to prevent litigation. Note that your son was not minor. My knowledge of the U.S law is limited tho, you can always check.
I am terribly sorry for your lost.
We are just trying to get to the bottom of why she is still having problems and her Doctor has been evasive since she is concerned about litigation.
