We know the tumor is in a slightly different area than it was originally. He is in treatment (Temodar for the second time) for the third recurrence of his tumor. We have always been told it is in an area where surgery has not been an option. The oncologist does say he believes it is a higher grade. We think he believes it is glioblastoma but he won't say that definitely without doing another biopsy.
A month ago my husband (41) had a tumor resection of a GBM in the left temporal/frontal lobe. He is still recovering from surgery and has begun cancer treatment (temodar& radiation) a week ago. He has a previous accident injury where he has struggled with neck pain for ten years. He has been on suboxone for probably 7 years now. He is currently taking his suboxone but is not getting any relief for his head pain.
So im on an intravenous receiving antibiotics and there is a bruise above the sight of the iv insertion spot I was just wondering if this might be caused by the medication going in. It did the same hing to the opposite arm.
I was recently diagnosed with a more sever form of lyme disease and am going to be given Intravenous Antibiotics through an IV form for 30 days. They have to keep certain tubes inside so it can be done everyday. I'm just curious about how much/how many tubes there will be put that are visible on the outside that I have to go through each day with. Thanks so much! Kelly.
The only people who really need to worry about intravenous infection are people who share intravenous drug needles - a needle with a syringe that injects something into your vein.

Since the diagnosis of Glioblastoma grade 4 in August, my husband has had the tumor removed and completed the round of radiation and chemotherapy - temodar. Certain medications, particularly intravenous Vancomycin, cause such pain. This (and other) mediations are extremely irritating to the tissues. One of the problems is the drip was run too fast. One thing I can tell you is beware of certain chemos, like temodar , it can cause lukemia in people with NF, and radiation is also a no go for people with NF. Good luck.
