Common Questions and Answers about Temodar and infertility

temodar

Avatar f tn Now the tumor has recurred a third time and they are trying Temodar again. What other treatment options would you consider at this point?
1515784 tn?1387197290 She had a surgical resection near the end of November and is currently in her third week of Proton Therapy and chemo with Temodar. Her tumor was in the right temporal lobe and the remaining tumor they couldn't remove (about 10 percent they said) is on her right insula. Hoping to chat with other people in the same boat as her. What if any side effects did you incur on Proton therapy? Did everyone who had proton therapy to their brain have to be on a steroid? Did anyone NOT lose hair.

Avatar f tn A month ago my husband (41) had a tumor resection of a GBM in the left temporal/frontal lobe. He is still recovering from surgery and has begun cancer treatment (temodar& radiation) a week ago. He has a previous accident injury where he has struggled with neck pain for ten years. He has been on suboxone for probably 7 years now. He is currently taking his suboxone but is not getting any relief for his head pain.
1524669 tn?1291423170 HI, I AM WITH OLIGODENDROGLIOMA,, NOW ON CHEMOTHERAPY-TEMODAR 350MG.
Avatar f tn My advice would be to seek treatment for your HCV infection first, then try to figure out causes of your infertility and seek assistance if needed. Did you know that medical procedures like abortions often could cause female infertility too? However, only infertility specialist would be able to find real causes of your infertility problems. Hepatitis C would not be a major player here.
Avatar m tn Be very careful on what you read about infertility and HSV. Much of it is hype by sham HSV 'cure' or treatment products. Men can have HSV and have normal sperm counts. For some men, a reduced sperm count does occur as a result of HSV and antivirals do assist in restoring the count. It does not follow that all men with HSV have infertility problems. You are more likely to experience infertility from other causes than HSV.

Avatar f tn Congratulations on trying to conceive! I was being treated with Metformin for my diabetes risk and irregular cycles. For women, Metformin can also make them super fertile (odd side effect) while regulating blood sugars. I'm not familiar with men and fertility issues, so I did a quick search and found this: Male Infertility & Diabetes DCS: What about diabetes and infertility as it is related to males? Does it cause fertility issues in men, too? Dr. Falcone: Yes.
1418727 tn?1282487078 ve read in this website, and others, that that can cause infertility, or implantation failure. I am scared since I just want to be able to carry my own baby and it seem at this point that it might be impossible. Please, please I ask that you give me all the feedback possible becasue right now the research I've done tells me that I might never be able to have kids. thank you in advance.
Avatar f tn Susten is to be given only when there is a documented deficiency of this hormone(progesterone) leading to infertility called inadequate luteal phase infertility. It is only approved for women undergoing IVF or other reproductive techniques. This medicine can result in intrauterine death or spontaneous abortion.
Avatar f tn My current insurance pays for all testing but no treatment. And they consider testing during a treatment cycle to be treatment. We are switching to my husband's insurance in November and it covers $30,000 infertility (if only I had known this when opting for COBRA when my job ended). Anyway, I will have to check to see what exactly they cover. Good luck to everyone!!
Avatar f tn B12 can help to balance your hormones and can help to increase your luteal phase. What CD day are you on, and what CD does AF normally fall on?
Avatar f tn I have been doing a lot of research and found that the varicocele may actually be the reason for his infertility as it is quite big. What I am not sure about is whether it would cause his hormone levels to go high. Does anyone know whether varicocele cause high fsh and lh levels? If my husband had to do the surgery and he manages to obtain a sperm count, is it possible for him to relapse back to azoospermia?
Avatar n tn But it was really quite large (about 14 cm) and it was causing me serious pain, and had pushed my uterus over to above my hip. You might want to get a second opinion if you are concerned about the importance of the surgery. I have alot of scar tissue from mine, but because of the pain I was in, I would do it again in a heartbeat!
216278 tn?1308861082 The more that I am reading about it, the more I am wondering if I have it and is what is causing my infertility....I read on one site that it is like the single-most undetected cause of it and the most treatable... anyone?
Avatar f tn When I was 17 I had a ectopic pregnacy and they gave me a shot to rid of it. Soon after my menstral cycle came very few and in between. Over the past few years my husband and I have been trying to coceive. They put me on metformin and other stuff such as birthcontrol to force my menstral cycle but would only bring it for 2 days. Now im on nothing and not having a cycle at all. What are your suggestions?
Avatar n tn It is the most beneficial thing especially since treatment for this disease is so limited and you are dealing with fertility issues. Good luck and keep us posted about your next dr. visit.
Avatar n tn If you are under age 35, I would start things off by going on clomid and if the clomid regulates your periods and causes you to ovulate more regularly give the clomid 3-4 months. If you are not pregnant after four regular ovulations on clomid, then have your partner get a semenanalysis and even think then about a hysterosalpingogram to check your fallopian tubes. There is nothing wrong with doing a sperm count and a hysterosalpingogram right of the bat, but I am not sure this will be necessary.
Avatar f tn Dear wenny15 - yes it is possible the surgeries have affected your anatomy. That being said, the best thing to do when you have been trying for over a year is to have a full infertility evaluation by an infertility specialist. Typical tests will include: 1) an X-Ray test call a hysterosalpingogram (HSG) where we inject a dye into the uterus that allows us to see the uterus and the fallopian tubes on an X-ray to see if the tubes are open or blocked.
319653 tn?1200346342 I realize that if your hormones are unbalance you will experience all these signs and symtoms. I went and got some progesterone cream and female hormone balance pills. I have to thank god I have'nt felt no pain since.
Avatar f tn I got a horrible flu bug on Saturday the 12th and to ensure all was well I went to the hospital and they ran lots of bloodwork and said I had a stomach virus and confirmed I was pregnant. Today (15th) I went to the doctor to do the ob confirmation and they attempted an u/s, and when she could not detect the baby (blob) the nurse said the doctor wants me to go to get blood work done today and then again on Thursday to eliminate ectopic.
Avatar f tn How likely am I to have contracted pid and be infertile due to having untreated chlamydia for 18 months.
