Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Tecta (which from my research, I believe is Pantoprazole) is a PPI and Zantac is a H2 blocker, so the answer most likely is that, yes you can take both of these together, but I would still recommend checking this out with your doctor.
I have chronically low magnesium even though I am taking lots of magnesium gluconate and IV magnesium everyday, and there was some thought that the PPI that I am on for GERD could be lowering my magnesium so I tried to go off of it, but I couldn't do it even though I was taking an H2 blocker and tapering very slowly.
I also have should blade problem. It aches. I am now taking Tecta pantoprazole. Also have to go for Barium drink test, never had that before. Also scope down the throat, that isnt sounding to nice. I had to wait four months for ultrasound wonder how long this will take. Did go to naturepath, she thought galbladder, regular Doc things ulcers. Wish someone could just make up their mind, then we could do something about it. Thanks for all your replies.
I'm on Pantoprazole 40mg twice a day. It just started about 5 days ago with the shaking all over, dizzy feeling in my head and also having "shakes" in my abdomen area. My GI doc said the stomach shakes....his patients have told him about them, but he didn't give a reasoning really as to why.
I have also been shaky all over for the past few days, which is why I suspected either low Iron or Magnesium. Magnesium seems to cause that quite frequently for a lot of people. I just don't know what this random cramp is in either side of my neck extend from just behind the back of the jaw to just above my shoulders. My neck feels "stiffer" in those particular areas for some reason.
It was keeping me from going places it was so bad. So he put me on pantoprazole which reduces the bile and acid in the stomach to help with my symptoms. I thought he was crazy but strangely enough it has seemed to help. I also suffer from SVT and am on metoprolol to control it. I started taking calcium with D and magnesium plus I have been on BC pills and Claratin for years now.
For the last few weeks I have had a green stool.
The Dr. put me on tecta (pantaprazole magnezium) and it worked for a month to ease heartburn and sore throat at least, now I am back to getting heartburn 3 times a week and I can't handle the mucus either!
I have had thyroid and hpylori tested and both came back fine.
I am supposed to see a gastroentorologist, but can't get in till next year sometime.
I am going back to my family dr (who is good) this week, but I don't know what the point is.
one appeared fully black and the other flecked with black. I was prescribed Tecta for 2 months, senokot for a month and scheduled for a gastroscopy with a biopsy to be taken during. The tecta helped some but not entirely, it lessened the pain and nausea bit didn't abolish it.

I am being weaned from pantoprazole with ranitidine. It seems that now that we have reached the pantoprazole every third day stage, I am getting weekly bouts of diarrhea, especially if I drink more than one cup of coffee. Is this a side effect? The diarrhea wakes me at night.
on armor tyroid 60 mg .taking pantoprazole 40 mg not helping much .alot of foods bother me .even animal crackers 2grams of fat took dexilant for 4 days getting worse now heavy feeling in chest .i stopped went back to pantoprazole.was getting sinus problems from acid reflux.alot of the acid reflux meds were affecting my thyroid meds getting depressed. could it be my thyroid causing acid reflux .cause im thinking surgery for acid reflux .please advise .troubled.
talk to ur Dr about probiotics and magnesium supplements and then Vit D as well....u can not increase the vit D if the magnesium is low.
I have had IBS for yrs and am doing better since I have started the probiotics and magnesium....
I can go long periods where I do not need meds....I watch my diet and try to eat healthy,.
As for ur flare that can happen with u stop the meds to quickly...u need to slowly step off the meds to avoid rebound effect.
as a family doctor, she upped the dosage from 20mg to 40mg (2013?); we switched the med to Tecta 40mg late last year (2015) because the omep. longer seemed to be working as well.
I am now having more symptomatic days and spoke with Dr. F. about it, which caused us to discuss all my symptoms that led to me being on omeprazole and Tecta.
Doctors prescribed to many antibiotics which led to my acid reflux. Got on pantoprazole for the reflux, it’s been working great but in the last week I’ve had this pins and needles sensation in my legs feel nauseous and I can’t seem to shake that somethings wrong with me. I’m in constant fear. I don’t know if the pantoprazole is giving me the tingling feeling because I’m not on anything else?
Instead after years of issues like yours, I started taking Magnesium Chloride. Chloride has something to do with forming hydrochloric acid in the stomach. Ted is a holistic practitioner and was experiencing the same issues. After taking Mg Cl. 2 tabs before meals or with meals, his and my symptoms were all better. I got Mg Chloride from Amazon. Please google more on Mg Cl as there is lots more to learn about Mg itself, you'll be amazed.
I just had a pneumonia almost 2 months ago and i had ulcer last November but already been cured by pantoprazole domperidone. Now i feel like my ulcer reoccured again coz im having heartburn,stomach pain and bloating
and nauseous. My question is can i take pantoprazole again even though i just had pneumonia and still having shortness of breath and chest pain? Pls help coz i dont know what really is the cause of my difficulty in breathing is it from having pneumonia or my ulcer.
I should also mention that I had a clear colonoscopy which is great. However, the pain never really seemed to be lower- it's between my navel and rib cage often radiating to my back. The diarrhea is sticky and either black or grey and it burns. I tested negative for occult blood. Rarely with the dry heaving fits do I vomit, but when I do it is dark purple or greyish.
No, nothing different going on in my life that would cause this. I did have pvc's (heart) a week or so ago which the doctor believes was related to gastritis which I got from taking Advil.. PVC's have since stopped. I am taking Tecta for my stomach which is the only thing that is different. The anxiety or whatever it is seems to last all day.
