Last May, I was diagnosed of Fatty Liver, so I was prescribed to take Godex and Simvastatin. After a month, my blood test rose from 81 U/L to 271 U/L and my SGOT which was previously normal rose to 75 U/L. My intake of simvastatin was immediately stopped due to suspected sensitivity which caused a dramatic liver enzyme elevation. I'm hoping for a decrease in the level of my liver enzymes following the LCD. What bothers me is the Godex. Please advice!

A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. I have a side effect after taking Tamsulosin (Retrograde ejaculation) or any other ejaculation problem. I am using Flowmax (Tamsulosin) for about 3 months for enlarged prostate. I started noticing my Testicles hang lower now and not tight anymore since I have been using this medication.. Could this be from the use of Tamsulosin?

I saw my urologist he other day and she said that she now like Rapaflo (slidosin) more than Flomax (tamsulosin) for urinary hesitancy. Both are designed to address benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). I just was on-line to check out my new RX for cholesterol. "COLESTIPOL HCL 1GM TAB". No that isn't a typo. it is 1 gram in size. I currently take some medications that are 500mg per pill and can barely swallow them so I can't imagine what these will be like. And I'm suppose to take two of them before dinner. Of course they also say to not chew, cut or crush them.

I had agressive treatment with a combination of external radiation and Brachytherapy. I now on Uromax tablets (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4 mg) which is causing me severe pain when ejaculating. Please advice if there is anything I can as I am still very young.

So now to my question, the urologist wants me to take two medications - generic names are tamsulosin 0.4mg and meloxicam 15mg. These were perscribed in place of Flomax and Celebrex in the hopes of reducing the inflammation and opening the neck of the bladder to release the urine now being held in my bladder. Should I take these meds even though the Flomax (tamsulosin) is not approved for women? Also considering my past medical history Im scared to take either meds, should I?

This problem is usually treated with the use of oral analgesics(pain killers) and tamsulosin is thought to play an important role in the relief of the pain and unfortunately how tamsulosin produces a relief is also not known. I've been taking tamsulosin for 3 or 4 years now after my urologist prescribed it for BPH. I've slowly started having leakage issues lately where I will have a strong sudden urge to urinate and have a difficult time holding it until I can get to a toilet. Sometimes some urine leaks out and other times the urge will pass and I can wait before racing to the toilet.

At 65 I was told I was "late" in getting BPH, but as anyone knows, better late but not better than never with this one. Anyway, I have tried Epsom Salt baths and UrinoZinc, as I did not like Tamsulosin at all. It made my breathing labored, and I don't like the idea of Retrograde Ejaculation. I have had painful external orgasms and urination, and although my enlargement is not that bad-the Urologist told me it was .5 and had others at 1 and 1.

Can someone explain what, if any, evidence there for a switch from simvastatin to pravastatin? My husband's doctor said there is new evidence that simvastatin may be detrimental. Unfortunately, my husband did not quiz him further. He already has one stent in a narrow back artery but he has brought his cholesterol down considerably with the statins.

I have been taking simvastatin for three weeks since having a Tia but have also had a flu like cold for ten days , I am still having aching flu like pains which I would have thought would have passed by now .
