Would Laser Assisted Cataract Surgery help avoiding complications, such as IFIS, in a male patient who has taken tamsulosin (Flomax)?
I am experiencing the same problem which started occuring about 3 1/2 yars after having had the surgery. Since the original question was posted some time ago, I was wondering if any studies have been done as to the cause of this problem and if there are any effective treatments available. I have discussed this with my primary care physician and he suggested staying well hydrated which doesn't seem to be working. I thoroughly enjoy sex up to the point of orgasm.
A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. I have a side effect after taking Tamsulosin (Retrograde ejaculation) or any other ejaculation problem.
Is this normal or should I stop using Tamsulosin?
Or will it (Retrograde ejaculation ) recover after stop using ten days?
Should I keep getting Tamsulosin for 10 days or stop?
I've been taking tamsulosin for 3 or 4 years now after my urologist prescribed it for BPH. I've slowly started having leakage issues lately where I will have a strong sudden urge to urinate and have a difficult time holding it until I can get to a toilet. Sometimes some urine leaks out and other times the urge will pass and I can wait before racing to the toilet.
Vomiting is not an issue, although I do find myself to be pretty consistently, but only slightly, nauseated. Do I stand a chance of avoiding surgery? Do I stand a chance of avoiding a stent if surgery is necessary? I see doc day after tomorrow. Just trying to mentally prepare myself for the inevitable. Why in the world won't my body expel such a small stone? (Ha. How much more can I whine?

I am using Flowmax (Tamsulosin) for about 3 months for enlarged prostate. I started noticing my Testicles hang lower now and not tight anymore since I have been using this medication.. Could this be from the use of Tamsulosin?

As I am researching the causes of the problem and trying to find out why the first surgery failed, I came across some medical studies and articles about a connection between use of Flowmax (tamsulosin) for BPH, and problems associated with eye surgeries. This is a big concern for me and it never came up in any discussion with the either eye surgeons. I quit using the medication due to other undesireable effects (nearly fainting) so it was not listed on my current medications list.

So now to my question, the urologist wants me to take two medications - generic names are tamsulosin 0.4mg and meloxicam 15mg. These were perscribed in place of Flomax and Celebrex in the hopes of reducing the inflammation and opening the neck of the bladder to release the urine now being held in my bladder. At 65 I was told I was "late" in getting BPH, but as anyone knows, better late but not better than never with this one. Anyway, I have tried Epsom Salt baths and UrinoZinc, as I did not like Tamsulosin at all. It made my breathing labored, and I don't like the idea of Retrograde Ejaculation. Hi i experience frequent urination urge and urine retention and tamsulosin quite help me but symptoms still persist.
Pain initially began as irritated foreskin. It was chronically sore and hurt. Seemed like it was always raw. From there, I experienced burning when ejaculating and sometimes peeing. This started over a year ago. Urologist took urine test/bacterial culture which was normal. No stds present. We tried tamsulosin which I stopped because I couldn't tell if it was doing anything (took for a couple weeks). He said I could try an oral anti fungal or some sort of antibiotic next if I wanted.
In the mean time, while regularly consulting urologists, testing PSA, its velocity, doubling time and free %,, having lower abdomen scanning (CT and ultrasonography) I developed symptoms of BPH mainly shown as a very important post void residual (PVR, increasing from 100-200 to about 500mL). I am prescribed tamsulosin 0.4mg/d and doubling dose to 0.8mg/d but PVR remains very high and considering TURP or similar.
