A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. I have a side effect after taking Tamsulosin (Retrograde ejaculation) or any other ejaculation problem.
Is this normal or should I stop using Tamsulosin?
Or will it (Retrograde ejaculation ) recover after stop using ten days?
Should I keep getting Tamsulosin for 10 days or stop?
Hi i experience frequent urination urge and urine retention and tamsulosin quite help me but symptoms still persist.
I've been taking tamsulosin for 3 or 4 years now after my urologist prescribed it for BPH. I've slowly started having leakage issues lately where I will have a strong sudden urge to urinate and have a difficult time holding it until I can get to a toilet. Sometimes some urine leaks out and other times the urge will pass and I can wait before racing to the toilet.
I am using Flowmax (Tamsulosin) for about 3 months for enlarged prostate. I started noticing my Testicles hang lower now and not tight anymore since I have been using this medication.. Could this be from the use of Tamsulosin?
Probably not, since the phacoemulsification handpiece still has to be used to aspirate the cataract. A potential advantage of the femtosecond laser is that it will soften the hard nucleus, and allow it to be emulsified or aspirated more easily. Not everyone who is on or who has taken Flomax develops IFIS (intraoperative floppy iris syndrome), but it occurs with the fluid currents in the eye during the emulsification of the cataract nucleus, or the irrigation-aspiration of the cortex.
In the mean time, while regularly consulting urologists, testing PSA, its velocity, doubling time and free %,, having lower abdomen scanning (CT and ultrasonography) I developed symptoms of BPH mainly shown as a very important post void residual (PVR, increasing from 100-200 to about 500mL). I am prescribed tamsulosin 0.4mg/d and doubling dose to 0.8mg/d but PVR remains very high and considering TURP or similar.

I had agressive treatment with a combination of external radiation and Brachytherapy. I now on Uromax tablets (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4 mg) which is causing me severe pain when ejaculating. Please advice if there is anything I can as I am still very young.
So now to my question, the urologist wants me to take two medications - generic names are tamsulosin 0.4mg and meloxicam 15mg. These were perscribed in place of Flomax and Celebrex in the hopes of reducing the inflammation and opening the neck of the bladder to release the urine now being held in my bladder. Should I take these meds even though the Flomax (tamsulosin) is not approved for women? Also considering my past medical history Im scared to take either meds, should I?
This problem is usually treated with the use of oral analgesics(pain killers) and tamsulosin is thought to play an important role in the relief of the pain and unfortunately how tamsulosin produces a relief is also not known.

I have had painful external orgasms and urination, and although my enlargement is not that bad-the Urologist told me it was .5 and had others at 1 and 1.5-I am still suffering quite a bit with pain and discomfort. Swimming helps a bit, and I am lucky enough not be going every half hour or hour. Actually, I only went 1 time during the night and average 3-4 hours before going. But the discomfort that comes after urinating is really a pain in the tookas.
Obstruction is a possibility also hinted, afaik, by a large urea/creatinine ratio in the urine. I am taking tamsulosin 0.4 mg/d and testing with my doctor 0.8 mg/d to check PVR. I have had regularly and also recently DREs which were all normal.
I am 56, otherwise healthy, moderately active, fit and eating a well balanced diet with relatively high protein intake (Zone).
chlamydia was tested and negative...i don't believe bph or trichomoniasis were tested...the tamsulosin was to try and loosen bladder neck to try and alleviate symptoms...
Available drugs include doxazosin, terazosin, alfuzosin and tamsulosin. Older drugs, phenoxybenzamine and prazosin are not recommended for treatment of BPH.[5] Alpha-blockers relax smooth muscle in the prostate and the bladder neck, and decrease the degree of blockage of urine flow. Alpha-blockers may cause ejaculation back into the bladder (retrograde ejaculation).
The 5α-reductase inhibitors (finasteride and dutasteride) are another treatment option.
I have taken 3 dozes of the medicine and I notice that during sex there is no semen coming out. Earlier there were no such problems. Please advise if I should continue with the medicine.

I had x-rays showing I had a small kidney stone proximately 2 mm in my upper left kidney. I had some signs of blood in my urine now are four months down the road and every once in a while, I will still show blood in my urine and I don’t know if I’ve ever passed the stone. My question is if a stone is forming, but not moving can it cause blood in urine?
