Common Questions and Answers about Taking lunesta with other medications

lunesta

Avatar m tn Can I take Tramodol with Effexor XR, Clonazepam, Trazadone, Lunesta, Gabapentin, Hydroxyzine. I am on all these medications for clinical depression and panic/anxiety disorder. But now I was recommended to take Tramodol for pain. Will there be a bad interaction with the drugs I just named? I would like to know each drug I have listed seperately and it's interaction with tramodol. Example....Can I take Effexor XR with Tramodol? Can I take Clonazepam with Tramodol?? Etc. ect.
Avatar n tn I had an allergic reaction to ambien so I can not personally reccomend it. However I loved my lunesta, it worked very fast. Now, just like with pain pills when you take sleeping pills be prepared to go to sleep. They are aiding you not making you go to sleep. It is not anesthesia so don't expect it to work as such. I no longer can afford the lunesta I go to my local VA for my medications and they don't carry lunesta.
Avatar n tn I used to take Ambien, and I had great results with it for a short time. But with all medications, it eventually lost it's effectiveness, and I switched to Lunesta. Lunesta was a good alternative for me. I never had nausea with either med., but I have experienced the daytime grogginess with both. It does go away after a while, as you become adjusted to it. Unfortunatly for me, sleep medications only work for a short time. I am a true insomniac, and nothing works for long.
736314 tn?1276884623 Speak to your psychiatrist about it as that's of concern as its some form of intoxicating effect with the interactions. It may very well go away (I've had it happen with medications and it passed) but they should know. Normally there wouldn't be this problem as unlike Ativan (lorazepam) Buspar does not have a potential for a person to build up a tolerance to it (though it is less effective).
Avatar f tn ve had trouble sleeping, so he gave me Lunesta 3mg. I am slow to check things out, part of the reason I could be in this trouble with Hep C, but I looked at the Lunesta and it says not to take over 2mg if you have liver problems. ? I don't take it every night. But this has made me question all the drugs I am on. My tx doses are 1,000 riba and the interferon. And I am doing the white blood cell shot also once a week. This is a lot of drugs to me! Does anyone else take these?
Avatar m tn meaning it is not as addicting as benzos and other sleeping medications like ambien, lunestra, etc. I successfully used seroquel to help me wean off valium.
1355301 tn?1287967641 I can understand why you're leary about trying the Ambien - I've never had any trouble with it, but of course, everyone is different and how a medication affects one person may or may not be how it affects someone else. I would suggest if you do decide at some point to give the Ambien a try, definitely try it on a night when your husband is not working, just on teh off chance that you do have a "reaction" to it. What dose of teh Lunesta are you currently taking?
266660 tn?1189755834 Did you talk with your doctor about taking the two together, like a half hour before bed? I used to take my kpin before bed with some medication that makes you tired together. How does the lunesta work btw?
Avatar f tn Finally, you can do 25mg of belsomra and 3 mg of lunesta... for those with lupis wgo can never sleep. One could also at this point aleep whenever tired; like during the day without drugs. But then youd likely be done for the day; vut you did without medicating for one say. At this point your body is severly messed up and you cant work: so anytime is good. But regular cocktail will keep a sxedule. My unknown godt to you.
Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
Avatar m tn Sometimes, i take just lunesta since I have retrograde ejaculation due to trazadone. I take these medications for sleep insommnia. They work. I also take propecia for hair loss (not sure that it's related). I also take cialis/viagra as needed for ED that started about 5-6 years ago. Still trying to figure out cause for ED, docs think primary hypogonadism. Again, not sure if this is related. anyway, i've been on the sleep meds for about 2-3 months.
Avatar f tn I have have various different medications all prescribed by my doctor to help me sleep and I have been alternating taking one of them at night to help me sleep. Generally it is xanax a few nights in a row then ambien for a night or two then lunesta for a night or so and then back to the xanax. I cannot sleep without something to help me these days. It has been going on for months. i want my real sleep back.
Avatar f tn You might try taking a combination of Valerian and Melatonin when you stop the Lunesta. I was taking Lunesta in my early withdrawals and it did make me sleep, but that nasty taste was to much for me. I must say I haven't really slept really well since, but the herbs I mention do help somewhat, I take a hot bath before bed then I take them. From what I've heard Lunesta withdrawals are mainly mental, but you can get addicted to just about anything.
Avatar n tn Each medicine would only let me sleep for four hours a night. So I am taking the Lunesta right now. But it is very hard functioning during the day as I am very fatigued. My body previously was use to getting 8 hours of sleep a day. Do you know of any other medicines that would help with longer sleep? How long does it usually take for the sleep to return on its own? I would rather being sleeping on my own. Any suggestions or help you can provide is greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn Does anyone have any suggestions or medications that wont fluctuate with my blood pressure and heart rate so i can get a good nights sleep?
506273 tn?1260138781 Namaste, Pristiq is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SSNRIs). It works by restoring the balance of certain natural substances in the brain (serotonin and norepinephrine), which helps to improve certain mood problems. Pristiq is used to treat major depressive disorder. You might experience some minor side effects, but you shouldn't have any problems taking this medication with the ones you are currently taking.
Avatar f tn I tried melotonin and valerian root, the valerian helped with me falling asleep but I don't stay asleep for more than 3-4 hours at night. I took the Lunesta last night and was out for 8 full hours but I am a little scare to take it. So tonight I'm not gonna take it and maybe ill just take it every other day. But see that's how I started with the tramadol just one here and there for back pain then I was up to taking 12 a day.
Avatar f tn 495–504) All these medications need to be used cautiously with the benefit of treatment outweighing the known risk associated with these drugs. Do let me know if you decide to go with a particular medication! Regards.
Avatar f tn Was told can't get ambien cr due to doc needs insurance authorized? My doc said he had no time to deal with insurance companies and he said that if he did it for me I could only be allowed a 10 days supply and not a month due to use for short term use only. So was given ALPRAZOLAM XANAX for my sleep and insomnia. Was told that in one week if it does not work I will get something different.

Avatar m tn I cannot remember being a minister last week at a ceremony, nor other engagements during the past 5 days of cold turkey stopping the lunesta and xanex. APRN who I have been seeing just told me last week that she could not renew the xanex or lunesta as studies have been showing an increase in Alzheimers, so this is why I did the cold turkey. Can anyone shed any light on weather or not these "episodes" have occured with them?
Avatar f tn Any help with how to deal with this? I am currently taking Tramadol, Lexapro, Lunesta, B12, Vit C, and Iron tablets. I have tried Lyrica, Savella, and Cymbalta, but had bad side effects or no help at all. Thanks for your responses.
1654177 tn?1319838494 I take metformin, a powerful diabetes drug which has to be taken with food, at exactly the same time as study drug which also has to be taken with food. The sponsors and researchers had no problem. Also, no problem with taking my thyroid med early in the morning before the study drug on an empty stomach. I could take vitamin and d3 and folic acid and premarin and even glucosamine but remifemin (with black cohash for hot flashes) is an absolute no no. Most of my other meds.
Avatar n tn I want to taper off xanax. Would it be safe to take half a 1 mg. xanax with 2 mg Lunesta or would I then become dependent on the Lunesta also?
Avatar m tn I would avoid Lunesta or any other Big Pharma 'sleeping pill' Not a lot of docs know about it but Trazodone works well for many people. During my rough sleep periods I used Trazodone, Melatonin & Benadryl. Got a decent nights sleep every time with that combo. If you want more info on Trazodone let me know.
