Taking flonase and claritin together

Common Questions and Answers about Taking flonase and claritin together

Avatar n tn A good initial treatment is a nasal steroid spray, like Flonase. Zyrtec or Claritin might also be effective. If medical management does not work, immunotherapy (allergy shots) might be required to desensitize you to the things to which you are allergic.
Avatar n tn Such as, when I travel south to other states, or east to Toronto area, I feel better. The tightness and pressure is not as bad there. I can get away with just taking Claritin-D and not having to take flonase. When I am back home my symptoms are worst and taking all these meds don't completely relieve my symptoms. Does being surrounded by couple of lakes have anything to do with the way I feel? Also, I feel that when I take flonase my sinus discomfort gets worst, such as sinus pain.
345124 tn?1234483278 I can handle everything except the dizziness/vertigo. As soon as I feel it coming on and my ears feel stuffy I pop a Claritin, some Flonase and ibuprofen if it comes along with sinus press again. So far its working but need to go for allergy shots because these allergies have just progressed over 20+ years from just hay fever to hay fever and allergic rhinitis to hay fever and allergic rhinitis plus now dizziness. This has got to stop!
454221 tn?1259445739 My lung doc said I had severe allergies to dust mites and I have put covers on my mattresses and pillows and taken my claritin and flonase and it seems to make a difference. But since I had to move heavy mattresses and did a lot of vaccuming my neck feels tense. I have had this problem since I got my new carpet cleaner and all the other problems. Could this all be due to an injury?
1939607 tn?1324289300 Almost all mentioned taking Flonase or similar nasal sprays for the initial illness (cold or sinus infection). I believe that people start taking the flonase to help cold/flu/sinus infection, and then it gives us this traveling, achy sore in the Eustachian tubes. I often cough up these dry little patches after a cold, like tiny white scabs. I think the pain switches side-to-side depending on which side direction the spray travels: spray then lie on your side, that side gets more meds.
Avatar n tn Depending on how far along you are you can take benedryl, my dr says 20 weeks. (Every dr is a little different) Your OB should at least be able to okay you maybe taking an alergy med like Alavert, call and ask. There is no reason they can't just say 'yes' or 'no' and yiur General isn't an expert in pregnancy so he won't know what's safe.
Avatar m tn I've been taking zyrtec in the mornings and I used nasonex right afterwards but it didn't really work... next morning ---- it's a bit better still hurts a bit...
Avatar f tn Yea its okay my doctor prescribed it to me at 8 months
Avatar n tn I have had a stuffy feeling in my right ear for over a year now, can't pop it, no issue hearing, just feels stuffy. Like before you pop your ears on a plane. I've been to 3 ENTS, as well as my primary care. Initially I was told there had probably been an ear infection and that several rounds of Flonase would empty out the remaining liquid, plus some antibiotics for good measure.
Avatar f tn Family history: My sister & dad have rhinitis. My mom has chronic cough and her PCP said it’s allergic (don't have detail check-up). I had strong allergic reaction to Erythromycin (whole body & face swollen & covered by hives/rash) when I was a kid Since 2010, I started feeling congested at night (bedtime & early morning) and okay in daytime. Occasionally took Claritin because of tickle in throat but nothing serious. Normal daily life & sleeping is fine.
Avatar f tn Okay. Thank you!
Avatar n tn I took Flonase and Zyrtech or Claritin. You can also take Benadryl.
Avatar f tn so now im having really bad allergic reaction where my eyes swell and get all red and itchy, my nose is totally stuffed up, and now i feel like in the middle of my chest i weeze. this has been happening for like a week now...but the chest thing jus started yesterday. when i take claritin it all goes away except for the chest weezing. i dont really have trouble sleeping but i do wake up to blow my nose and stuff. whats wrong with me?
Avatar f tn About a year ago I developed what I thought was the flu. I went to the dr. Who gave me antibiotics. It went away for a few days but then came back. My symptoms were running nose, nasal drainage down my throat filling my lungs with gunk, and subsequent cough. After 3 more trips to my family Dr. and three more, and different antibiotics, I demanded something was wrong and I'm not taking any more antibiotics. I went to see an ENT and he said it was my deviated septum causing the problems.
Avatar f tn I've started my yearly sinus issue and want to know if taking Claritin is okay?
Avatar f tn My son started this noise over 6 months ago. At first we thought he was clearing his throat but the dcotor called it a cough, as he's inhaling before it happens. She heard a wheeze in his chest and is sending him to a pediatrician. She's thinking asthma, but I've never heard anything like it. Avatar n tn First diagnosis was sinusitis with treatment of antibiotics, daily Claritin and Flonase. No relief. Still having pain, mostly in the jaw area. Pain is now getting more severe and moving to overall headaches. I believe I have atypical trigeminal neuralgia as my pain is more constant than abrupt. Any suggestions? Alternative diagnoses?
Avatar m tn • Random headaches & head pains all around my head and sometimes even my neck • Feeling of Having to put effort into breathing • Severe ear pain which strikes at random • Tingling all around head, neck, and face • Neck tightness • Neck spasms when sitting still and breathing (occurs at random) • Randomly feeling sick, mostly in my head only • Electric rush feeling in head when i move my eyes around • odd throbbing sensation in my forehead and front of neck whenever i sit still and br
Avatar n tn To me it did not get any better I went back to the doctor and got an XRAY -- sinus appeared clear . I did not feel any better and the doctor started me on Flonase and Claritin OTC. About a week ago I had excruciating headaches (facial) and have now been diagnosed with T.N.
Avatar n tn He told me to take Claritin D and he prescribed Flonase. I started taking/using both, and the pressure eased up a little bit, but it was still there. At that time, I was also experiencing some sinus pressure. That seems to have lessened. Fast forward to now - I went to the doctor because my neck was swollen on the left side and I could feel a large lump. She kind of brushed it off, but I asked for an ultrasound, which showed that I have 3 "cystic nodules" in the submandibular region.
Avatar m tn He also has albuterol inhaler and Flonase. However, it does not work sometime like the last 2 nights. The flonase really made it worst so I stop. He has this about a year off and on, but worse when the weather change.I have air filter and huminifier at home as well. Myself, I started having sinus issue only recently about 2-3 years. I have post nasal drop 2-3x per week. Sometime mild and sometime very bad.
Avatar n tn (sorry) or if I take the steroid I can cough up huge yellow inch long mucus plugs. I take Allegra, Zyrtec, Claritin, Flonase and singular, albuterol nebs and inhaler, also famotidine 2x daily I was on advair for 2months and he said stop because it did nothing for me other than change sputum from slimy to chunky and is quite pricey for no results.
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Flonase and after taking it almost immediately when I laid down to go to sleep I felt my heart palpitate and a huge weight on my chest. Thought I was having a heart attack at age 32! After continued use of the Flonase over the next week the issue persisted and I could barely sleep. I stopped taking it and the heart issues I was having went away immediately.
Avatar f tn Also was very agitated while first taking the Flonase and no where in the pamphlet does it mention this is a side effect or to call your doctor if you start coughing, etc. Should have checked the internet like I always do. Needless to say, I am trying not to regret this too much and try to get well.
