Avatar n tn t know where to post this question, someone knows if pde5 inhibitors and specifically tadalafil (cialis) are reversible enzyme inhibitors? and can you explain why from a chemical and pharmacological point of view? So, is the inhibition reversible or irreversible and why? I know it is not an easy question but I can't find on the internet this answer.
Avatar m tn I have now have tried all the usual tablets (Viagra, Levitra, Tadalafil although not Spedra - yet). Tadalafil seems to work best although even that doesn't facilitate an erection sufficient for intercourse. So, looking for alternatives, I discovered alprostadil.

Avatar f tn HI, I have IC and am an IC support group leader. Because doctors now feel that IC is actually a number of illness, it is being called IC/Painful Bladder Syndrome. The inflamed bladder can only be confirmed by an in office cystoscope in 10% of the case, because some patients have hunner's ulcers. The glomerations can only be found with hydrodestention under anesthesia, however our support group recently watched the ICA DVD by Dr.
Avatar f tn hi- i'm a new member of this site, but a long time sufferer of IC, it really depends on getting good dr's, and i mean, dr's from big hospitals that see IC all of the time, because it wasn't until i got into one of Boston's big hospitals that they really 1)understood my symptoms 2) had experience with them so knew what Else to try when all the good ole stand-bys didn't work, and 3)explained it all to me in a way that i could understand, and could believe that they weren
Avatar f tn Do think there will ever be a cure for IC? I don't know about how it is now. But when I was DX it was very hard, are dr's more senstive to IC now?
Avatar n tn Hi, I have seen no data on wemen with IC having an increased incidence of miscarriages. Obviously, any women can have a miscarriage, and any women can have IC, that doesn't mean one caused the other. Because both problems involve different organs (uterus vrs bladder) its hard to postulate a cause and effect. Most patients do very well during pregnancy with IC and find that their symptoms dramatically improve. The reasons are unclear. Check the ICA website: ichelp.
Avatar m tn Hi, I sincerely feel that you should consult a urologist for the same if the oral medications are not able to treat the ED. I hope you have tadalafil also apart from sildenafil. The next step is usually papaverine injection but needs to be given by an expert only. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
Avatar m tn HI, I am not a physician, however I am an IC patient and an IC support group leader here in Missouri. IC can and often is misdiagnosed as prostititus, there was an article on that recently on the IC-Network. What events lead to the development of IC is a hotly debated topic. However, if you are both having symptoms, being treated for a chronic infection makes sense first. It is very likely a chronic infection.
Avatar m tn I was not having any urological problems till now exept ED which started since last 9-10 months. My doc prescribed me with peroxitene and tadalafil for ED and I completed the medication 5 days back. Now I need to urinate atleast 10-12 times a day even after drinking much less amount of water(only 1-1.5ltr/day). Till I feel the pressure of urinating so severely that sometimes I lost controll of holding before actually urinate. I am feeling helpless. Please help me get out of this situation.
Avatar f tn According to the study by Dr. Warren this year as many as 1/3 of IC patients said there IC started with a bladder infection. There are some doctor who do believe it may have a bacterial chronic infection cause. Dr. Hultgren in St. Louis has recently found biofilm with in the bladder wall. The link to his article is on the Biofilm ONline website! My URO believes many IC patients are actually misdiagnosied chronic infection patients.
Avatar n tn with national expertice in IC and has a complete program to handle IC. I would be happy to see you as well, as a second opinion with recommendations sent back to you local Urologist to try.
501792 tn?1261111106 Since I have tried many IC treatments and medications. I have tried Installments, a distention and IC mediactions OTC and prescribed. I have always prefered an all natural approach to medicine but my pain has not responded to those options enough to stop taking the narcotic pain meds. I eat as naturally and organically as possible and follow an IC diet. I have SVT which interferes with alot of the options I've tried like Lupron and being able to consitantly use NSAIDS.
Avatar n tn There is a lot of controversy over IC and an infection cause. I personally believe that IC can have several causes or series of insults to the bladder that cause or trigger it! I lie with a very difficult chronic infection... though I may have had IC before this, I believe the infection issues definately play a role FOR ME! Dr. Hultgren has been working on finding biofilms in the bladder wall... he treats or considers IC to be a infectious disease... but he is in the few not the majoirty.
