hello well about a year ago i started noticing next to the left side of my lip a white patch of skin. it developed to be about an inch and a half so far. now its completely white and white hair grows on and around it but its barely visible. i consulted a skin specialist and she recomended 2 ointments to be applied morning and night (clobetasol propionate cream usp 0.05% and protopic tacrolimus ointment 0.1%).. is this vitiligo? and is this a good treatment?

You prescribed about a tacrolimus ointment but i need to know is there is a greater risk of skin cancer due to use of tacrolimus ointment 0.1 or 0.03? Do you think that a lacitc acid based cream 5% or 6% with urea 10% can be used safely on skin folding area,i mean on scrotum and penis(on a thin skin under the head)skin? I have also told by a dermatologist that hydrocortisone is not a steroid.Its a very mild potency and anyone can use if safely for the rest of life.

I did want to make a correction to my above message so that you do not think my dermalogist is a complete nut. My dermalogist put me on Protopic 0.1% (tacrolimus ointment) not Proactive. I was not treating acne. Could you clarify something about the biopsy. The test showed only thickening of the the skin but no fungal, bacterial, etc.... What are the possible causes of this thickening of skin? Is it something to be concerned with?

About a month ago I noticed red bumps on the side of my scrotum and they also started to appear in my inner thigh as well. I used hydrocortisone cream and it the bumps seemed to get better but what I'm left with now is my entire scrotum and penis are red and a bit sensitive to touch. It's not alot of pain and no itching at all and I have no raised bumps or rash. The skin has just turned red.
