Avatar f tn I was biopsied for Lichen Sclerosus ( my mother had the condition and suffered for years). I saw a specialist and took 150,000 units of Vitamin D-3 for almost a year. The leading steroid is Clobetesol, which I loathe to take. My condition has not improved. Having intercourse is impossible--it feels as though a thousand needles are inside my body. In addition, urinating is painful. Sitting is sometimes painful. I am totally miserable. PLEASE help! Is LS a form of Vulvadynia?

Zoon’s plasma cell balanitis is a very benign condition and can easily be cured with the application of local steroid cream. Circumcision is also thought to help in the same. On the other hand, there’s another condition known as erthroplasia of queyrat. This is a more dangerous condition which signifies an underlying cancer.

Lichen sclerosus is an uncommon disease of unknown cause that results in white patches on the skin, which may cause scarring, preferentually on and around genital skin.However it can cause ivory white dry patches on non genital areas also. Confirmation can be done only after skin biopsy.
