would hpv cause redness around the head? i was treated with desonide cream a while back for lichen planus, but it did not help. they said lichen planus can be caused by trauma to the area, but would it take a month or two after the incident for it to show up. i noticed symptoms about 6 weeks after the incident. any input or advice would be appreciated..
Her treatment was a month of Prednisione and Desoximetasone ointment. I also developed the oral Lichen Planus for which I was given yet another steroid in the form of a mouth wash. The steroids caused thrush and I have been treating the thrush naturally with raw vinegar, baking soda, organic plain yogurt and coconut oil pulling with decent results.
My research has shown there is a correlation between Hep C and Lichen Planus. I am curious if anyone else has experienced this ?

It initially appeared as several red blotches (non-raised that I can remember) and has since merged into an overall reddish color. His family practitioner diagnosed as Lichen Planus after looking in a dermatology book (having never seen the symptom before). We are currently treating with a steroid cream for 21 days and then let things take their course according to medical advice.
It itches every once in a while but not terribly its not raised or bumpy or anything. It almost resembles lichen planus which I have had a history of. I have a pretty good sized dark scar located on my ankle from lichen planus. Im African American so I have dark skin. Im just unsure of what this could be. I dont know if its even possible to get lichen planus in that area. I have not been sexually active in three years. Any input would be great thanks.

The other possibility is of lichen planus which is a chronic immunological disease presenting with similar symptoms. Third possibility is of vitiligo which is a pigmentation disorder in which melanocytes (the cells that make pigment) in the skin are destroyed. This has to be evaluated by a dermatologist to determine if this is indeed lichen planus, Lichen planus do present in the genitals and this is the area where they may occur for the long term. At this point I can not tell you the best mode of management for this, or whether circumcision will be an alternative ( if you are thinking along that line). Discuss this with your physician when you have the time. Just keep yourself from unnecessarily touching the area.
