Avatar m tn s biopsy and lab numbers clearly show him heading down the road to fibrosis and cirrohsis, would it make sense to push for trying the new drugs at least the approved ones for non-transplant such as teleprevir and bocepavir? Otherwise the patient is looking at another transplant which would seem to be quite a negative option.
Avatar m tn i wouldnt lower the tacrolimus dose further
Avatar f tn thanks so much for your input. I did stop taking my B6 vitamins for a while so I did just started to take them again. This time the symtoms did not last as long. I also think taking benadryl helped. I have been to a dermatologist and they just told me it was contact dermatitis and gave me Elidel.
Avatar f tn Our 15-year-old Chihuahua mix, Gracie, developed a malignant tumor on the gum in her mouth after being on Optimmune eye ointment (cyclosporine) for a year and a half and then on Tacrolimus for 6 months to treat her dry eyes I too now have no doubt that the cancer was caused by those eye treatments. When told about the eye meds, our vet oncologist blurted out: "Well, there you go!

Avatar n tn Not so sure about tacrolimus. Look at the law offices looking for people treated with tacrolimus creams. Still some concern out there about serious side effects. Don't forsee approval anytime soon in U.S. As a side note, have your doctor look for demodex follicularis. Some research indicates that they can worsen lid margin disease.
Avatar f tn I had my first session of laser hair removal for lower legs yesterday and after a few hours my legs started itching. The itch was so bad that I couldn't help not to scratch them and today I noticed red spots all over my lower legs. The red spots look like rash and are itchy. I'm worried that the laser might have burned my skin. Dose anybody knows if this is normal or I should stop laser hair removal treatment?

She has been wearing the hood for 6 months to prevent her for scratching her eyes. She just turned 4 and and she is in so much pain, We finally decided to have surgery and have found out it is 2600.00 per eye.
Avatar n tn My face is burning, I have red spots around my eyes, I have rash all over my face and chin. My skin is flaking and feels very dry. I am noticing some wrinkels in the places they never existed. What shall I do?
Avatar n tn there are prograf assistance programs that the company offers. If this is not feasible than using other cheaper medications such as verapamil for example for HTN for example will alllow much lower doses of prograf to be used (it delays metabolism of the medication) and thus it comes out cheaper.
Avatar f tn Hormonal contraceptives such as the pill and the patch may increase the blood level of tacrolimus. Tacrolimus may also reduce the effectiveness of these hormonal contraceptives. For this reason women who could get pregnant should ideally use a non-hormonal method of contraception, eg condoms, to prevent pregnancy while taking this medicine. Seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.

Avatar m tn Okay so recently i jogged 4 miles in my sweatpants and underarmor shirt to meet with this group. it took maybe 35-40 min to jog there. i stayed for around an hour then left, it took me probably a little more time (50-60 min) to jog home. i changed into some shorts and noticed a slight rash on my chest but didnt worry too much. I undress to go into the shower and i notice a rash around my crotch (not actually on my penis) and figured it was because of sweat, so i shower.
Avatar n tn For a couple months now I have had this red rash around my lips. Its not dry skin it sometimes has dead skin and other times it just red and sore. I have been to a doctor 2 or 3 times about it and they keep telling me to stop licking my lips and it will go away. I know for i fact I DO NOT LICK MY LIPS! i have been putting some blistex medicated ointment on them that helps a little with the redness and makes them comfortable to live with.
Avatar n tn Your physician may choose to treat the bumps with other topical medications, such as metronidazole, erythromycin, benzoyl peroxide, tacrolimus, clindamycin, or pimecrolimus. In more severe cases, oral antibiotics (such as tetracycline, doxycycline, minocycline, or erythromycin) may be required. Perioral dermatitis is a difficult condition to treat effectively. It often requires several months of treatment.
