Common Questions and Answers about Switching from mircette to kariva

mircette

Avatar f tn ve been on Mircette (a.k.a Kariva). Before I started Mircette I stopped my pills about 3 days before I was supposed to right before I was to start my cycle. Anyway, long story short, with this pill all I've had are bad gas and gas pains, some cramping but other than that I don't feel like I'm on bcp. Well yesterday I was supposed to have my period but when I thought it was here, I had mucus like cm and then some pinkish brownish discharge with it.
Avatar f tn For the first couple of months I experienced less enthusiasm for things I used to do, greater irritability, and slight feelings of depression from time to time, which I wrote off to having friends leaving for college in the fall and other stressful situations in my life. But recently the symptoms have gotten so intense that they have stopped me from enjoying many parts of my life.
Avatar f tn I was orginally on Depo-Provera for 1 1/2 years (never had a period), switched to Seasonale (major nausea), then switched to Tri-Sprintec (my chest got huge on this pill), and then to Kariva (was great!). I was on Kariva for 10 months. I never took the placebo week, so I never had a 'period'. However, if and when I missed a pill or took it a little late, I always had spotting for a day or two.
525501 tn?1212432217 I am going to the doctors to discuss this today since I wanted to start to have children and that is impossible without ovulating.
Avatar n tn I just recently had a baby on Sept 5, I have a prescription for birth control but I am not sure when to start taking them. I think the nurse at the hospital told me to start taking them on the third Sunday after the baby, but I am not sure. Can you help me?
Avatar m tn For the past 10 days I have had light brown discharge non-stop, bloating, and bad stomach cramps. I was on Azurette birth control for about a year and then I switched to Mircette(this is my first pack); so I was wondering if the switch could have anything to do with it even though they are basically the same birth control. I am due for my period on Tuesday the 29th. I am very confused as to why this is happening so I'm wondering if you have any ideas or explanations!
Avatar m tn m a 21 year old who just stopped the pill after 5 years of being on it consistently. In October I was switched from Azzurette to Kariva, just a generic brand switch. I hated it and decided to go natural and stop the pill all-together around November 13. I got my "withdrawal period" right after.
1371539 tn?1281268141 He recommended doing a PCOS diet - you can find books on this! For the main part, it was going very little carbs, or switching them to whole wheat. Making sure you eat protein and fibers before carbs. This made a huge difference for me - I lost 10 lbs in about a month. Also he recommended about 20-30 minutes of light excercise - walking at a 2-3 mph pace every day.
Avatar m tn I am on Kariva birth control. I missed 2 or 3 pills the week that i had sex. We used protection everytime except penetration once for like 30 but he did not ejaculate. I took plan b (the one pill version) between th 48 and 72 hour mark. It has been 2 weeks since and my period has been a couple days late and very very light (dark brown). I know that the plan b causes disruptions in menstrating and so does missing pills but id like to lnow if im just overly paranoid.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone, I have been on Yaz for over a year and I stopped around 6/13/08. My husband and I have had unprotected sex and for the past 2 weeks I have had tender/swollen breast, went up almost a cup size, very bloated, unexpected nausea that comes and goes. Since Friday I have had very light cramping and pelvic pressure that comes and goes, when I move around they subside. This might sound gross but around 6/25 or so when I woke up I was very wet.

Avatar m tn My concern is whether the rest of me will make it a lot longer with this same regiment. Is switching to sirolimus something to seriously consider? Does it use bile acid to metabolize making it a bad match with someone having to rely on ursodiol to keep bile presumably flowing adequately? My bilirubin avg lately 1.3. Docs have my cyclosporine about as low as they can go .THANK YOU DR. SHIANO YOUR AWESOME.
Avatar f tn ll last because we each respond differently. Going cold turkey is not a good idea, even when switching from one med to another -- no med is an exact equivalent of another. It sounds like you're getting better and hopefully you'll be fine soon; if it gets too debilitating or emotional you can go back on the last dose of Lexapro at which you felt fine and taper off slowly. I'd also switch psychiatrists.
Avatar f tn Greetings, I have a question, is it ok switching right away from PTU to Strumazol right away? Like for example I took PTU yesterday and today I won't?
Avatar f tn The doctor is switching me to 20mg of Celexa. I was wondering what the best way to transition is, How to go from one to the other with the least amount of scary side effects as possible? Please & Thank you.
Avatar f tn I have 23 Effexor pills from a May script, from switching to Pristiq. Is it safe to take the Effexor to get me by? I have to do something. I feel that I am crashing and burning and cannot stop crying. I just want to know if it is safe. Thank you!!

11728532 tn?1451774466 Hi there, I'm an 18 y/o female and I have taken birth control ( Kariva -- to be specific) since I was 15 to treat PCOS. About a month ago, I had intercourse and afterwards I bled heavily and had cramps for a week. I should not have gotten my period for another two weeks according to my pills. When I took the pills that started my period, It was very light and ended two days early. We used a condom but I'm scared.
Avatar f tn It does take a good long while for your body to adjust to the copaxone and let it work. I was on it from October 2008 until Dec 2011 and did well initially. It wasn't until the last six months that I started having a few problems with being therapy compliant, but that is a story for another time. copaxone is a very good drug and I hope you do well with it.
Avatar m tn Hey just want to give you a heads up on taking Armour, just in case your Doctor doesn't let you know about splitting your dose, most of us who take a med with a T3 component find that splitting the dose into multiples over the course of the day works best. T3 is fast acting, so it gets into your blood quickly, peaks after a few hours, then is gone. Once it's gone, you have nothing to go on, since FT3 is the actual hormone used by individual cells.
1423357 tn?1511085442 Despite my cautionary advice, she is determined to abruptly switch from Effexor to 20mg of Paxil, a 10mg lower dose than what she had been on. Last night she stopped the Effexor and started Paxil. We had an interesting night sleeping as I was awakened a number of times by her "loud" dreaming. This is not unusual since she went on Effexor 7 years ago, but she was particularly active last night, jerking, sort of punching me, and yelling out loud.
Avatar f tn I d keep truvada until hbvdna undetectable and then switch to viread
