Avatar m tn My diet consists mainly of vegetables, healthy fats, meat and fruit and I have cut out dairy, processed grains, sugar (mostly-still treat myself every once and a while) and have started taking probiotics, daily vitamins, drinking more tea & water and am utilizing superfoods as well (acai, camu, ultra cleanse, cacao, etc). I use natural facial products and gentle soaps (cetaphil) and try to do a mask every once and a while.

Avatar f tn I have a mostly healthy diet with a day or two in the month where I eat junk, like popcorn and apple pie with ice cream I recently started mixing Amazing Grass Superfoods and Wheat grass in my morning smoothies. My smoothies include a helping of berries: blue, black, and strawberries with banana and grape juice. Not sure if the superfoods have causes this grainy stool, but I am concerned since it lasts for a couple of days.

If no grains at all, that means you've eliminated complex carbs, which supply a lot of our energy. Every civilization has eaten grains or grain-like fruits such as quinoa and buckwheat as their staple food for eons, so that could explain it.

Im doing pretty good except I keep getting this MASSIVE crash around 3-4 pm and then once I get over the crash I am fine. Ive never done the single dose thing, I'm wondering if Im on too little now. Im taking 1.5 grains in the morning with .5 at bed time ( so 2 grains each day) .

I was trying Synthroid w/out and then with T3 (which I hated, hypo he11). I go back for labs 3/31. Any suggestions as to why it is taking so many grains to feel better? I just bought selenium to take but trying to figure out when to take NT, supplements and eat is driving me nuts.

Also it makes me wonder....because any grains they do eat in the wild will also have been semi-digested by their prey, so enzymes would have worked on that grain, and stomach acids before they eat it. That might be a whole different thing to the way grains are processed to put into pet food.
Avatar m tn Things for anxiety slow you down. Things for energy sometimes speed you up, increasing anxiety. Ashwagandha is usually a good choice. Eleuthero is often a good choice -- I take both. Perhaps you just need time to get used to it. I've never heard of Organic India, so I can't comment on the company. I would have bought it from Planetary Herbals just because it's an old herb company owned by herbalists who started before this became big business. I trust them.
Avatar n tn But, regarding your pain part, what has worked wonders for me is not eating grains anymore. I used to have so much pain in joints, back, knees, etc...and after cutting out grains, it all disappeared. I used to take pain meds, but no more now. I used to hang on to the bannister walking up and down the stairs. After a couple of weeks avoiding grains in my food, especially wheat, I could start prancing up and down the stairs with ease.

Avoiding grains, for example -- whole grains are actually fine, it's the simple carbs that are the problem. Permanent weight maintenance is more complicated than a fad diet. See a holistic nutritionist and figure out what suits you best -- might be a vegetarian diet high in grains. Have you seen many fat macrobiotics? They mostly eat whole grains.
