Avatar f tn Natural production of thyroid hormones slows down in response to thyroid medication. It takes 4 to 6 weeks for thyroid medication to built up in the blood so you can feel more hypothyroid during this time. I'm fine now and still take 50 mcg daily of Eutroxsig. I tried Armour but I was not absorbing this. I do fine on T4 only though. Here is some info from Dr Axe...
Avatar f tn Hi marie, I have been on antidepressants for a long time and I do know thAt you should always report your side effects to the doctor. He can help you decide if they are worth taking that medicine or you need to switch to another. There are quite a few different medications for depression now with few side effects. Sometimes smaller side effects like dizziness will go away after your body becomes accustomed to the med.

Avatar f tn I am not much on people being lazy during pregnancy but i would def reccomend it for you. Dont lift anything heavy at all. Treat yourself like you would treat that baby. And i eould talk to the dr about having sex. Usually it is perfictly fine but may not be in your case. And dont worry about it either bc stress isnt good for either of you. But if it does happen, it is not your fault and nither were the other ones.
Avatar f tn The more you stress the worse it is for your baby. Also try pregnant yoga its amazing what stretching can do for your mind. Eat some pregnancy superfoods like greek yogurt or beans or my favorite popcorn its a whole grain.. Its healthy for the both of you and gives your baby extra nutrion. Folic acid everyday prevents defects 600 mg. You can buy it at any walmart. Hope this helps.

Avatar f tn Because some research has shown that women with PCOS are insulin resistant, we need to really watch our sugar intake, while eating LOTs of raw, whole, live fruits, veggies, and superfoods..This along with exercise, stress reduction, (yoga is the best for me) and supplements have been shown to help other women.. I have been pretty down lately, due to the hair loss and skin problems, and have yet to give the natural path a complete go of it.
Avatar m tn Things for anxiety slow you down. Things for energy sometimes speed you up, increasing anxiety. Ashwagandha is usually a good choice. Eleuthero is often a good choice -- I take both. Perhaps you just need time to get used to it. I've never heard of Organic India, so I can't comment on the company. I would have bought it from Planetary Herbals just because it's an old herb company owned by herbalists who started before this became big business. I trust them.
1828249 tn?1320012338 they hooked me up on some fluids and gave me a prescription for zofran. it worked wonders. but you should deff go in asap being dehydrated is no good for your baby. good luck.
Avatar f tn Processed foods, pesticides etc are a good reason why most of the people have a lack of nutriments and vitamins/minerals therefore this is why i strongly suggest vitamins/minerals and superfoods supplements. Superfoods are foods that contain high amount of nutriments, vitamins and minerals and have antioxidant and many more proprieties. You must know that there are also natural anti-anxiety remedies and supplements available.
Avatar f tn Celiac is the one related to thyroid problems and autoimmune so I am being tested for that. I might have Colitis or Crohns. Either way I need to avoid more foods than most people. And yes, I am cutting out/down processed carbs and white carbd like bread ( because of the gluten in wheat and also the yeast) potatoes and pasta etc. I will be buying organic brown rice though and eating pulses, nuts etc. I will have a strict but very healthy diet in the end.
397118 tn?1219762250 That is what I really want to be, so I got my lexapro change to wellbrutrin and that was not good for me I had a really bad day yesterday. Today I didn't take anything but my sub and that is how I'm going to keep it for a while I'm just so sick of been tired and drowgy all the time and the trileptal was making me feel that way also the lexapro so I stopped those two as of Friday. I wanted to know what do you think about the amino acid?
Avatar f tn t recommended for overactive thyroid. Quite the opposite, as it stimulates the thyroid. Now, some people do use this for this purpose, but one should proceed with extreme caution. And iodine would hardly help an autoimmune situation, which is Hashimoto's disease, as the thyroid in that case is usually already nonfunctional and stimulation would just increase the autoimmune reaction. It's hard to see how the antioxidant selenium would help either. Take care.
Avatar f tn Why is it that doctors insist that you do NOT have to fast for thyroid labs? Both my doctor and my husband's doctor said there was no need to do so because the thyroid med is already in your system so it doesn't make a difference. Is this what all doctors believe or are there some who will recommend to fast? My husband is convinced that he won't need yo fast when he gets his next labs drawn.
Avatar n tn Your thyroid is not secreting enough hormone that is why you are taking Synthroid, Your TSH is only the chemical signal your pitiutary gland sends to your thyroid and only a sort of guidline, you would have to post your other labs like T3 and T4 or free T3, these are the actual hormone levels, although you would have to be off the meds for 6 weeks then re-tested to determine if your thyroid was working as it should. That decision would be up to your Dr.
